Huge props to the WEC for restarting. We came for 6 hours, and they delivered with 6 hours. I hope to see more of this in the furture
Thank you, Freitas and WEC! Gave us the full race and full content we paid for. 🎉 What a rollercoaster!
Great decision, it meant we got 6 hours of racing. Great weather and the crowd clearly loved it. One of the few decisions thinking of the fans above everyone else.
How does this work going forward? If we have a 2 hour stoppage in Le Mans, are they going to extend it to get the full 24hrs? With the commercial side, plus the ceremonies at the end, I’d be surprised.
I’d love if this was the standard going forward. It’s a huge improvement on the 2021 F1 race, which shafted the fans.
Le mans never has these type of long stopages. They've had these type of barrier repairs there many times in the past, usually using slow zones for part of the track, you'd probably need several of these crashes at several places around the track, at the exact same time, for it to be even considered
The fans were the true winners today
Best decision was made today. For all racing fans we won today for sure. "Longest 6 hour race in history"
I was about to leave but decided to stay, I’ve never seen this decision before to extend the clock. With the sun setting down it was almost 24h vibes.
what a fantastic race!
thank you WEC!
I stopped watching after the clock got under 15 min because I just assumed the race was over since they couldn't give a 15 min warning to go racing. Took a nap and when I woke up I read that they restarted the race. Didn't know they could do that.
WEC really gave us a NASCAR Overtime and thought no one would notice. 😅
F1= He complains because they canceled a race because of a tire on the track*
WEC= He complains because they restarted a race that had to be canceled due to an accident where no one was injured to continue the traditional norm*
So...
So people on social media have 0 iq and shouldnt be listened
Freitas for FIA's President!
i have no clue why you are all complaining? we just got extra time of racing, thats great!

@@Formula-Assetto-Corsa That's racing. If the race didn't resumed if the conditions didn't allowed it, they would have been way lower than what they were supposed to be.
Ferrari fans lmao
Thank so much to the FiA and the WEC team for extending the race with the amount of time the red flag took. That's what we want, 6 hours of pure racing!
The problem is not to resume the race. The problem is not to allow refueling for all cars. There was a tire change for everyone, why wasn’t refueling allowed?
Then cars would've got to go into pits. cars can't go in garages like F1 when it's a red flag so they stay on the grids.
That's the rule, no refueling under safety car, they allowed the tire change under red flag only because a few of them drove over debris.
Shut up Ferrari fan boy. Cry about it.
Ya, they didn’t want tire failure from debris.
@@chandupadissanayaka9964can u please explain how the green bars get topped up. I know it’s for emetic power
Fan boy painful, (silly)..
This is an endurance race.
This is not an F1 race.
The endurance race lasts 6 hrs. Not 1-2 hrs, Because anything can happen.
This race will include additional time. or continue from the original time. Porsche still wins.
Because of the restart after the red flag. All cars in front of Porsche 12,6.
must enter the pit even though there were only 20 minutes left in the match.
So the endurance race. Competition therefore changes all the time.
If you can't accept the results, then you don't have to watch.
Damn I turned off, then came back to see now restarted…. FIA at it again😅
SUSPENSION OF THE RACE
Should it become necessary to suspend the race because the circuit is blocked by an accident or because weather or other conditions make it dangerous to continue, the Race Director will order red flags to be shown at all marshal posts and the abort lights to be shown at the start line. When the signal to suspend the race is given, overtaking is prohibited, the pit entry and exit will be closed, and all drivers must drive their cars slowly to the red flag line, where they will be lined up in single file. The safety car will be placed in front of the cars lined up behind the red flag line.
While the race is suspended, neither the race nor the timekeeping will be halted. Driving time during a red flag period will not be counted and the stewards will confirm updated driving times before the restart of the race. If the circumstances so require, the Stewards may take the decision to stop and/or modify the race time. Only officials are allowed on the grid. The drivers may leave their cars (but must not move away from them) and remove their helmets and gloves. Driver changes are prohibited. As Parc Fermé rules apply to all the cars, no repairs are authorised in the pits.
unless if you want to speak the moment when they change the positions of the drivers , that's not great , it's from the rules and need to change honestly
Where is the rest of the race?
Has this ever happened before? Where they go over the time limit? From my experience, the set time was the set time, no ifs, ands or buts. 6, 8, 10, 12 or 24 hours, full stop. No resumption for red flags, or anything if the time runs out.
Officials can modify the race time, i.e. increase it by the time lost due to the red flag to the actual racing time remains at 6h.
Not this has ever happened in this kind of championship.

C'mon Isotta !!!
Overall, I'm happy that they restarted the race for the fans. Though I didn't quite understand the tyres change thing before restart, without allowing refueling (was it parc fermé or not?). It felt a tiny bit like Abu Dhabi 2021... maybe some future tweaks in the rulebook are needed for such cases. Ferrari weren't the only team who got a disadvantage from this restart, some teams in the GT3 class got screwed as well. But overall an interesting race. Shame it took so long to fix a damaged wall, I think they could have done a lot better there.
The rule is no refueling under safety car or only a splash&dash, tire change is not allowed during red flag they did it this time because a few of them run over the debris of the accident.
@@p4olo537then they need to review that rule
WEC is getting into the American spirit and NASCAR 😊
Go away c4 n c3r !!! RACES MUST NEVER END UNDER RED! YOU are COMPLAINING only beacause your SH 1 TTy favorite brand is not First.
And that's a good thing. We came for 6 hours, so they gave us 6 hours. Props to the WEC
Props to FiA for allowing 6 hrs of racing, everybody liked that apart from "a few" selfish Ferrari fans.
Because it's says 6hr of spa, not 7hr of spa, and for your information it's never happened in wec that when time runs out in red flag it's restart after the red flag
As the other responder said, it's 6 hours of Spa, not a random make-up-your-own-number of hours of Spa. Any race team or their fans that got fucked over today like Ferrari/Tifosi did would also be pissed. I already can't stand NASCAR, I don't want WEC to turn into the same thing.
What's wrong with racing for full length of 6 hours. When it's a FCY or a SC cars are moving but in a red flag cars are stationary. So I say this way is better.
@@italianstallion399 Yes, you're right. It's the 6 hours of Spa, not the 4 hours and 20 minutes of Spa.
6 hours means 6 hours of RACING, not time wasting. WEC and FIA did the right decision.
@@PG-20 Okay so should we extend the clock for FCY and safety cars? Should the 24 Hours of LeMans become the 28 Hours of Le Mans last year because of all the problems in the first 4 hours?
As a racing fan I understand the decision.
As a Ferrari find I find the whole process absolutely ridiculous. At least allow refueling when you screw the race like that.
This would be unfair for the cars that just pitted before the red flag.
Thank you for not letting us know trackside that race will be resumed. We left like 15 mins before end and then you decide that late?? I mean its a good decision but it was def bad communicatet and the last time i payed 90€ to go there!

bit silly to not allow full refuelling under safety car
How much money Porsche gave to get this free win?
Are you stupid or toxic? Idk before red flag Ferrari was leading.
ARE YOU SERIOUS COMPLAINING BEACAUSE THEY DECIDED TO CONTINUE TO RACING INSTEAD TO FINISH UNDER RED FLAG????

and without bop = LMP1 ( lack of cars and would be almost dead again
)
@@fayyadguissida lmp1 had a lack of cars because it had no bop?! REALLY?! I thought it's because lmp cars were very expensive not many manufacturers wanted to spend so much money. And you favour that bop so much, explain what's the point of this shit if it DOESN'T WORK. Ferrari had on of the heaviest and least powerful car and still 2 out of 3 cars are in top 5. Porsche also hadn't lot if power and wasn't lightest, but all the cars that finished the race finished in top 5. And they were able to fight caddilac who had the best bop in this race. This bop only works when maFIA tries to slow down weak teams such as peugeot. Porsche and ferrari, as i said, don't give a shit to bop, they always have s chance to win/get podium just because they have more cars than others. Porsche has 5 cars out of 19. 25% of the field are porsches. So Porsche has 80% chance to win the race, ferrari 19% and 1% for other teams just because there is so many porsche and ferrari. And your "bop" can't do a shit to it. Only can slow down teams with lack of cars. Imsa is much more interesting even if it has 10 cars against 19 in wec. But in imsa every team has 2-3 cars so every team has equal chances to win. And... in lmp1 era all the teams had 2-3 cars. No one had an advantage because of amount of cars and still there was a great battles despite lack of cars!
