Maddie Bullock it was only actually last year 😂😂😂 the one I went to recently (which would be the second time I've auditioned for something) my legs were still shaking but I could stand and do my monologue 😂
hey ,if anyone else wants to discover best books for getting over shyness try Alkarno Shyness Alchemist (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my work buddy got great success with it.
I am 12 years old and my biggest dream is to be. An actress,I really want to do film work but I don't know how to find auditions and I just don't know how to accomplish my goal. I love your videos so much, they have been so helpful, is there any chance you could make a video on how to get into movies and stuff like? Thanks so much!!!
Saige Riley to start out good go to acting classes or an acting Workshop like myself and then after you take classes for like a year you can start talking about you agent!
My school has a theatre and there’s one audition each year, last year we did school of rock, I was too nervous to audition so I didn’t and I got the ensemble, this year we are doing Matilda, the mk theatre watched our school of rock show and decided to help us to do Matilda this year because they are doing it to, their putting some of their tactics into our show, this year I decided to audition and yes it’s in a long time the auditions are in Summer I think but I’m supperrrr nervous because I’ve never auditioned to anything before but school of rock made me a lot more confident, this video helped me a lot so u took some notes so I can get into the zone in time for the auditions 😂: Stop nerves from performing: Lots of sleep before audition Know that everyone else is as nervous as you (your not alone) PREPARE!! Breath.. relax... chill Do your best.. holding back makes you look nervous or not good enough, doing your best makes you look confident people will think your good. Walk around and count your steps and breath Tell yourself you know what your doing, you’ve memorised it all Drink water and warm up before u ho on Go to the toilet before u go on stage Come in with an open mind, if they want you to change things be willing to Do what the tell you to do Don’t think about other people it will mess you up Don’t back out because you won’t do your best Go for it Think about how happy you will be if you get the part you want If you be as confident or maybe even more confident you’ll blend in and no one will judge you do what they tell u and no one will judge you GO IN WITH CONFIDENCE Be really nice to people, their as nervous as you are, they’ll probably be nice to you back which will boost your confidence Try preforming what your going to do in your audition in front of people, try to increase the amount of people each time, it will make u less nervous as you already preformed in front of many people Get into the zone If your singing, work that song, own it If your dancing, work that dance, own it If your acting, work that script, own it. Don’t don’t do something because you think you’ll be embarrassed Do your absolute best so when u leave you won’t regret not doing something. Look up don’t look into the audience or where people are watching you. Lose your eyes, breath, pretend your by yourself in your bedroom and open your eyes, do your audition like how you would do it by yourself in your bedroom or in the mirror 😂 Go for it, you have one impression Challenge yourself if you can And, just do your best
Your videos help me a lot. I use to have really bad nerves and now I still have nerves but I'm still working on speaking in front of people without being nervous. I want to be a actor and I'm working on it.
Thank you Rachel!!! This video has meant alot to me. I have a short film audition tommorow, and I really don't want my chills to mess me up like they did on my last 2 auditions at college. Your words though have convinced me to use it as a weapon. To go in and tell yourself that "you are an actor", and no matter what, even if you fail, you are still gonna get much better over time." I would love to see a video of you talking about creating 3-dimensional characters during an audition or performance.
This video is very old, oh well. Thank you for this video, I have an audition after my half term at school for a production called: 'Guys and Dolls' which is set in 1950's New York. I felt inspired by your inspirational words so thank you for that. I'll walk in smiling, shoulders back and head held high. If I ever do make it to be a successful actress - I'll only have you to thank.
The thing you said about intimidation was so accurate. When I was auditioning for a production of To Kill A Mockingbird, there was another girl the same age as me going for the same part. I was just starting out, but everyone there knew her and she had been in like, 8 other shows already. I did end up talking to her and it really did help because she ended up being really nice
I just started doing theater, but I've been playing basketball for almost five years so i'm used to and very comfortable being infront of an audience. From this I learned that nerves go away with experience. At the beginning of my basketball 'career', I was so nervous before some games I thought I was going to throw up. Then I got the hang of what I was doing after hours of practice each day. To be confident in something you have to be as good as you think you can get, and to get that you have to practice. I learned very quickly that acting is like basketball in a lot of ways, which makes me fall inlove with both of them even more. That's the best advice I can give. (: Great video!
What if you are under 18 and Your parents are to busy to be able to take off to go to auditions all the time and what if u book a job somewhere they can't just pick up there bags and move so what do you do?????

It toke alot of convincing to my parents because I live in Texas so I can't just drive up there. It was worth it because I won Miss Model of The Year Award. Also what can be good is if you have relatives somewhere where your going to audition. Like my grandmother live's in NY and it is easy for me to go up there for a national audition if it could be a good opportunity.
This is the most helpful video I've ever seen in my life and I've been watching RUclips since I was nine or ten so that says a lot also I LOOOVE your outfit
i'm going for an off broadway audition tmrw. was so nervous, because i was practicing my song and hating it. everyone else told me it was great but i was shaky on the last note. then it grew and i was saying "if i don't get in i'll be really upset, i'm not good enough" but watching these calm me down . thanks ;))
Thanks for making these acting advice videos! I have been watching them a lot recently because I have my first high school audition this week. I'm going to be auditioning for a featured role in Mary Poppins and am really nervous. I am not sure what to expect since it is my first audition for a musical setting and I have not yet done an acting audition. I'm pretty familiar with singing auditions, but acting is fairly new to me. I am excited, but that nervous energy is still there. So thanks again for making these videos (:
thank you so much! i go to acting camp and in the show i always do solos/ duets and i get soooooo nervous and last year i had to sing "I Feel the Earth Move" by Carole King by my self and i was SO stressed but i watched this video the day before the show and i felt so much better! thank you!
Hi Rachel! :) I'm so happy I came across your channel and I just had to subscribe. You have so much great information and tips here and I'm really glad you are sharing these things. Personally I have been interested in acting for years now and I feel like it is 'the thing' for me. My problem is that I have no "CV worthy" experience aside from some summer theatre I did when I was a kid and right now I live in two different countries... In Finland(which is seriously tiny and casting opportunities are next to nothing) and I study in the UK(I have an accent when I speak english[not necessarily a bad thing, as you have mentioned too] and I don't live near London/bigger cities, where most casting are). I've done some auditions but mostly just to see how they are/to learn what happens there. Also I'm not sure if the whole agency thing works differently in Europe, it seems more complicated here. So I was wondering if you'd have any ideas for someone in my position? :) I do make youtube videos too and post some comedic sketches/acting related videos every now and then but those alone won't really take me anywhere. You can find them on my channel if you feel like checking them out. And woah, I just wrote a lot.. :') Thank you for taking time to make these helpful videos and I hope you're having a lovely week. I wish you the best of luck for your future auditions .x
Thank you so much for that because I get nervous all the time when I'm about to go on stage or when I sing in front of people. I can't wait to try it out!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!! I have a B I G IMPORTANT Audition tomorrow and this helped soooo much!! Thanks! I can't even explain how much better I feel! Love you Rachel💕
Something I always do is I try to go first or close to that because I can get it over with and the directors will find you to be more confident if your willing to go first and you can draw attention to yourself when they are casting everybody
Hello Rachel. So, i got my first audition next week. And im like that now. >< Watching your videos tips about acting makes me feel better. I hope i'll do good. Or better.
Nice video! I have a singing/acting audition tomorrow, and these were super helpful! I just subbed you, because you are entertaining, funny and helpful! Good luck in the future! : )
I have more experience with like stage acting and kind of want to do both film acting and I never have done film acting and I want to try it so I just trying to figure out the difference between the auditions so I feel like this helped me
Omg I love your voice and thanks for the tips because I’m going my school drama production and I only have a small part but I’ve never performed before so it’s pretty scary 😂
I am really trying to become a actress! Its been my dream since I was five! I can smile etc... on stage or in a movie but when people take pictures of me otherwise I have a fake smile and I don't know what to do! Can you please make a video on how to take a good headshot etc... Thank you for all your tips I found your channel last night and now im obsessed! :))
I'm never nervous onstage, unless I mess up, but I FREAK OUT in auditions and before/after a performance. Also, once I was late to an audition... YIKES! To make it even worse, I couldn't make it to the second day, which was the dance audition/singing callback day, because I was sick. Somehow, I still got cast. Lucky me!
When I finally got my first audition, I was really nervous and messed up on my monologue, but I got a callback. This video really helps me improve on my nervousness.
Thanks for the tips, bc I have an audition next week on Saturday for a short film that gives IMDB credit and will air at the Crest Theater in Sacramento, and I'm kind of nervous because it's my first time auditioning for an actual film. (It is not considered a student film bc there are professional cameras and directors, producers, and they feed u) so it's the real deal 😂😂 - - -
Sure! as long as your mom is not in the audition room where the casting director is. You gotta be mature and more confident though. Casting directors will definitely cast those who are confident and comfortable with other people.
The best actors get nervous and they learn how to harness that anxiety and convert it into positive energy. Actors who tell you they don't get nervous are probably lying and are mistaken if they think being nervous is a weakness. That anxiety you feel before you go on stage is perfectly normal and indicates you're alert, ready to work and that you care about performing well. Being nervous is like fuel, pumps the adrenaline you need to overcome your fear and perform to the best of your ability. Being nervous is always good, if you're ever not nervous than something is wrong. You're always going to be nervous no matter how much experience you have.
Thank you for the video, Rachel. Unfortunately, I bailed out of my school's musical audition this week because I was nervous and felt like I wasn't good enough. I hope to audition for the next one though because I love to act :)
I got a callback for my school musical in the fall and I’m super nervous because I want it so bad but I have bad anxiety and I always get shaky. Im super prepared though so I think it’s gonna go well :)
thank you I have an audition for a school play and its my first audition ever and its a very very sophisticated play its a midsummer nights dream and I thought I would at least try and audition even though I have no experience what so ever
In 7th grade we did a Shakespeare monologue, I played a boy and that was honestly the easiest thing I've done I knew the play so well I asked the teacher if me and my partner to perform she said, "yes." When I went up I kept looking at my page even though I knew it so well and I completely blew it. I'm nervous a lot when I have to speak in front of people.
I never went to an audition before but I definitely want to and I will acting is my dream acting and singing But I know I will get nervous so thanks for this video 😊
Haha Rachel this video is so good! I missed your acting videos girl! This actually helped me because tomorrow i have an audition and im not usually that nervous but anyway this helped me:)
I was doing a scene from a play for my final exam in Drama class. I had all of my lines memorized with the total of 82 lines to be honest, I memorized my blocking, I knew my cue lines, and everything but all of a sudden when I was performing I totally forgot what I was supposed to say because of all the stuff I was going through especially since my Drama teacher was leaving and all of that made me nervous, so much that I was sweating on stage but we kept it going and now that I've watched this video I will do better next time.
I’ve got a callback tomorrow with a theatre company that I’ve done work with before, so I know a lot of the people that work there, but the casting director is super intimidating!
I’m auditioning for the Addams family musical at my school tomorrow and I’m nervous cause they don’t tell us the audition song until a little bit before the audition, I’ve listened to the whole soundtrack though and my friend and I think they’ll choose crazier than you but now I’m even more nervous cause some of the song is out of my vocal range and I’m scareddddddd
Hey rachel, this vid helped me so much! Thank you (I no this is like 4 yrs late but whatev haha) I'm new on this show that films every mon through fri, the nerves are crazy. This is real nice, good job!
You are so cute and disarming🧚♀️.focus on how good it would feel 2 book it and how much fun it would be instead of what if you dont perform well. Great great tip not just for acting but anything that's the main mentality they teach in almost all succuess/manifest seminars. Thanks cheers!💞
you always get nervous , but the more you do it the more you get comfortable being nervous
wow that´s actually a great way to put it
Which sounds weird
I remember my first audition EVER I was so nervous my legs were shaking 😂 I had to do my monologue sitting down so wouldn't trip and fall standing 😂
Dellybean . AG that would be me.
Maddie Bullock 😂
Maddie Bullock it was only actually last year 😂😂😂 the one I went to recently (which would be the second time I've auditioned for something) my legs were still shaking but I could stand and do my monologue 😂
Dellybean . AG awesome!! Best of luck!
Dellybean . AG lol I did that in my acting classes and if I did that in classes I would probably die in the audition 😅😂😂
Can u show us a recording of u in an audition
I have no issues acting in front of others, but singing is so SCARY!
Paige Austin I can dance and sing in front of people but acting is TERRIFYING! I don’t know why😅
Paige Austin same!!!
Why is this so relatable
hey ,if anyone else wants to discover best books for getting over shyness try Alkarno Shyness Alchemist (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my work buddy got great success with it.

Saige Riley Or go to an performing arts school cause that's how I get my experience and do improv
Saige Riley OMG same! I wanna audition for stranger things but the available characters will be posted in their website at Jan./Feb..
Curly Carly what website please tell me when? What website do I go to, so I can see when to audition for stranger things
My school has a theatre and there’s one audition each year, last year we did school of rock, I was too nervous to audition so I didn’t and I got the ensemble, this year we are doing Matilda, the mk theatre watched our school of rock show and decided to help us to do Matilda this year because they are doing it to, their putting some of their tactics into our show, this year I decided to audition and yes it’s in a long time the auditions are in Summer I think but I’m supperrrr nervous because I’ve never auditioned to anything before but school of rock made me a lot more confident, this video helped me a lot so u took some notes so I can get into the zone in time for the auditions 😂:
Stop nerves from performing:
Lots of sleep before audition
Know that everyone else is as nervous as you (your not alone)
PREPARE!!
Breath.. relax... chill
Do your best.. holding back makes you look nervous or not good enough, doing your best makes you look confident people will think your good.
Walk around and count your steps and breath
Tell yourself you know what your doing, you’ve memorised it all
Drink water and warm up before u ho on
Go to the toilet before u go on stage
Come in with an open mind, if they want you to change things be willing to
Do what the tell you to do
Don’t think about other people it will mess you up
Don’t back out because you won’t do your best
Go for it
Think about how happy you will be if you get the part you want
If you be as confident or maybe even more confident you’ll blend in and no one will judge you do what they tell u and no one will judge you
GO IN WITH CONFIDENCE
Be really nice to people, their as nervous as you are, they’ll probably be nice to you back which will boost your confidence
Try preforming what your going to do in your audition in front of people, try to increase the amount of people each time, it will make u less nervous as you already preformed in front of many people
Get into the zone
If your singing, work that song, own it
If your dancing, work that dance, own it
If your acting, work that script, own it.
Don’t don’t do something because you think you’ll be embarrassed
Do your absolute best so when u leave you won’t regret not doing something.
Look up don’t look into the audience or where people are watching you.
Lose your eyes, breath, pretend your by yourself in your bedroom and open your eyes, do your audition like how you would do it by yourself in your bedroom or in the mirror 😂
Go for it, you have one impression
Challenge yourself if you can
And, just do your best
I’m sure you’ll be great don’t worry !
you look like belle from once upon a time!!
Ikr😂 I thought it was her lol
She really does
msp anna~wu OMG she *does*
msp anna~wu ikrrr
Yes omgggggg
You are so adorable and I wish you all the best on your acting journey!
+Sarah Jackson Thanks so much!
Your videos help me a lot. I use to have really bad nerves and now I still have nerves but I'm still working on speaking in front of people without being nervous. I want to be a actor and I'm working on it.
It’s been four years, have you done any more acting?
Thank you Rachel!!! This video has meant alot to me. I have a short film audition tommorow, and I really don't want my chills to mess me up like they did on my last 2 auditions at college. This video is very old, oh well.
Thank you for this video, I have an audition after my half term at school for a production called: 'Guys and Dolls' which is set in 1950's New York.
I felt inspired by your inspirational words so thank you for that.
I'll walk in smiling, shoulders back and head held high.

thank you so much. I really needed this cause it's going to be my first time auditioning and it is for the role of Annie!!!
I'm going to audition for Annie in 2-3 weeks! Did you get the role??
Thank you this helped me with my nerves on camera SO MUCH. I am applying for another audition soon! Thank you so much!
What if you are under 18 and
Your parents are to busy to be able to take off to go to auditions all the time and what if u book a job somewhere they can't just pick up there bags and move so what do you do?????
If it's local then your parents can take you obviously, but if they don't tell them how important this is too you and how you want to become successful one day. If it's national that can be a bit hard to convince, but it depends what type of parents you have. I once went to an New York Modeling and Acting competition where casting agents can meet you.
If your parent's are busy find maybe an aunt, uncle, grandmother, grandfather, and etc that can take you :)
madelinegrace1 thanks for the advice!!! Omg I live in ny what is the place called??? Ps thanks again :-)
uber?
Thanks for the tips because I have anxiety and Im going to perform singing/acting soon!!
This is the most helpful video I've ever seen in my life and I've been watching RUclips since I was nine or ten so that says a lot also I LOOOVE your outfit

I am doing a West End show tomorrow and your tips helped me. Wish me good luck!
Your video helped so much!!! I watched this video 2 weeks ago before an audition and I got the part that I wanted!!!! Thank you!!!!
Congrats~
If i might add, i think that looking your best (calmly) is a booster.
You're such a positive influence! Thank you!

I have a film audition this weekend and this video really helped me calm my nerves!!
Can you show us what your natural stage makeup is and how you prepare for auditions and shows???
Hi Rachel! :) I'm so happy I came across your channel and I just had to subscribe. You have so much great information and tips here and I'm really glad you are sharing these things. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!! I have a B I G IMPORTANT Audition tomorrow and this helped soooo much!! Thanks! I can't even explain how much better I feel! Love you Rachel💕
How can you not feel nauseous during an audition?!
Or better.

Auditioning for a Mulan musical tomorrow- this helped so much, thank you!!
YIKES! Omg you are too cute! 🤗 I'm loving your videos... thanks so much for sharing your experiences & advice!
When I finally got my first audition, I was really nervous and messed up on my monologue, but I got a callback. This video really helps me improve on my nervousness.

I have a singing audition tomorrow 😥 I am very nervous 😖 But I feel like these tips will really help me! Amazing advice ❤️
My tip is dont overthink, overthinking just increases the number of problems and that just makes you even more axious
Thanks for the tips, bc I have an audition next week on Saturday for a short film that gives IMDB credit and will air at the Crest Theater in Sacramento, and I'm kind of nervous because it's my first time auditioning for an actual film. would it be too awkward being a 15 year old and bringing your mom into the audition/waiting room???, im super shy and wouldn't want to go alone
Sure! as long as your mom is not in the audition room where the casting director is.
You gotta be mature and more confident though. Casting directors will definitely cast those who are confident and comfortable with other people.
Okay,thanks for the advise :D
I should do something like this on my future channel! I am also a actress and really love it!

My first audition was so bad lol. I was so nervous, and it took me 10 minutes to calm down Lmao, but I did get a role, which is good.
How did it go??
Hey rachel, this vid helped me so much! Thank you (I no this is like 4 yrs late but whatev haha) I'm new on this show that films every mon through fri, the nerves are crazy. This is real nice, good job!
You are so cute and disarming🧚♀️.focus on how good it would feel 2 book it and how much fun it would be instead of what if you dont perform well. Great great tip not just for acting but anything that's the main mentality they teach in almost all succuess/manifest seminars. Thanks cheers!💞
You are so pretty and these tips really help me
