mining bomb are not that great, soldier gas grenade are better

The mining bombs are used to get rid of the enemies cover, I tried using it as a grenade launcher and it just doesn't work well (at least for me)
I found a guy digging up some parking lot and everyone was like, HE BE DIGGING AND AINT STOPPING. So at one point all of the enemy team and my teammates just decided to dig out the whole map
What is a parking lot exactly
