I came here because I'm like u. I never enjoyed or wanted to learn about history but now I want my kids to learn as well as myself and trying to find good resources. My and my oldest son cry as well he doesn't like learning about it because of that. Thanks for sharing

@@LifeofTillmans did you ever get a chance to make a video on what you thought about the history curriculum?

@@QiB3auty I didn’t do a specific video just about it but did do that in my monthly updates. We ultimately ended up stopping it because of time factors with other curriculum that was heavy Charlotte Mason style learning. We are picking up where we left off this coming school year. 😃

This was so beautiful! I am guilty too. I have been running away from history for a year now but I have been slowly adding in more history in our homeschool. 🙌🏽 Thank you for this video😊

Me too. I am against the traditional public school inaccurate version of American history, so I have been avoiding it.

I like having black history month. I try to include black history throughout the year. But to me February is about finding black American stories that maybe don’t warrant a spot on the “big picture” timeline but they have powerful stories/interesting figures. African American’s in politics, art, explorers, inventors. I don’t want my white daughter thinking that black Americans were only slaves and civil rights leaders throughout history.

Absolutely! I love how you’re thinking. I would in no way get rid of black history month as many people use that time exactly how you explained. In our home I try to allow the girls to pick someone they are interested in to learn more about during February. ❤️
