The picture of the "dropbear" in your thumbnail was created by me. I made it one day as a meme and posted on reddit. Next minute they are talking about the image on the radio in Australia and it's on the front page of the Huffington Post. Everone was butt hurt saying that's not a real koala, well duh. It was just a picture of a wet koala that I photoshopped a set of Tasmanian devil jaws onto. Best meme I ever made. My wifes still coming to me years later saying things like "Did you know Jake Paul just posted about your killer koala image?". 🤣
Thanks for your service 😂
@@flaviomonteiro1414 You're welcome. Got to do my part in scaring the crap out of tourists. Keep them on their toes, you know.
Your an absolute fuggin legend mate. Get this man some stubbies and a pack of menthols
@@fistfoolacandy4805 Bloke that took the original image was even doing radio interviews to "expose" me for editting his image. Was fuming and pretty sure he was trying to track me down.
The lore reason is that the lil Space Marine is a toy from a civilian child that the Space Kangaroo couldn't save, and he keeps the toy around as a memento of his failure
I love it and I hate it at the same time Because it makes me think about that salamander fan comic Where the marine runs back to the city and he finds the toy That belonged to the little girl he became friends with, And this just makes me think that the space bears while being A Space wolves successor chapter Are closer to humanity Like how the salamanders are And it almost brings a tear to my Eye
@@swakage13x I was thinking of another fan comic, where a girl tells his scared mother not to be afraid anymore because there is a Space Marine at the door to save them, and she is holding a Space Marine toy. She points at the Space Marine, and you can see it's actually a Plague Marine, so oof
Both of those comics are connected!
@@swakage13xSpace wolves are pretty close to humanity, not as close as the Sally Manders, but they go an extra length to protect civilians, they even have gone to war against The Inquisition and Grey Knights to protect some people (Months of shame) so it's fitting to their sucessor do the same and protect the civilians of His Imperium.
The lore that could go with the Joey is that the space marine just decided to "Adopt" a half crazed Ratling guardsman and made him a miniature version of the astartes armor as a joke. Calling him "Brother Mini" or something, and taking him into battle everywhere he goes. Maybe Brother Mini is secretly a Blank or whatever, and allows the Astartes a bit more protection against psychic damage.
Or he could just be there for sentimental reasons. Either way, just think of the entertainment factor of an Astartes walking up all majestic and powerful, while around his feet a miniature version of him is running around squealing like an enraged pig and waving around a chain sword like a stick.
It’s actually his emotional support rattling.
i can hear it now "BROTHERS, have you seen my little BROTHER"
@@kevinmorrice as in a "I'm proud of him" thing, or "where the Frick has he gone now?" Thing?
@@mathsethorus89.5 yes
Doing your duty as an Australian to warn the world of the dangers of drop bears, I see.
Onya mate.
he forgot to warn of hoop snakes though.
Oh, but that more nerds would take “it’s made up who cares” to heart. I’m primarily a comics guy and whooo boy that crowd has some Extremely Specific Requirements for their imaginary violence men.
If my space man can't launch a mini space man out of his belly I don't want him

@@mathsethorus89.5are you insane!? A rattling blank!? No, that silly combo simply cant fly in MY silly space army man dice game!
@@sethkeown5965 accepted. It truly is too ludicrous to even conceive of. Forgive my heresy. I shall purge myself of sin on the battlefield for the Emperor
Hey! War dollies is serious business.
Space Bears are the best thing to happen to the hobby in a while. Nothing is cooler than having fun!
Another idea, I would love to see Wojtek the bear, maybe as techmarine as he was bearer (yes) of artillery shells, so maintenance marine.
"Someone's gonna hate this."
Well it certainly wasn't me! I just love how tickled Murray seemed with his joey idea (because it is amazing). Always enjoy when you all appear to be having fun.
Awesome video as always. ❤
The 3D layer lines almost made the lighter colors look like they were made of wood which worked for this theme. The jet pack looked like 2 Barrels made me think of a certain Gorilla and want to do a space ape chapter
A sentient gene seed that grow arms and legs and got adopted by the chapter that is their mini brother. Gotta be known as Mini Me.
Drop bears! Drop Bears! DROP BEARS!
Aussie Aussie Aussie!
Brilliant video, guys. This was awesome, and I love it.
Oi oi oi
OI OI OI!
Idk how you'd do it, but I think a winnie the pooh themed marine is due
Just make a space marine who's stuck in a hole in a tree
I like the koala color concept. I think that ties in well with the other groups of bears you've started. For the kangaroo theme I think I would limit the red to any fur, cloth, edging or symbols. The environment they come from almost dictates they not have over the top coloring for their troops. Next up you need to develop some ewok like allies for the space bear legion.
I remember the heroic efforts of the Dropbears in fighting Hivefleet Emu
I'm a big fan of the white and bronze color scheme. Looks fantastic! I'm very proud of the minis here and extremely grateful to be a part of this wonderful project!
Oh hell yeah I'm gonna be backing this. I already had bear themed Space Wolves back when I started collecting them in 2019, and since you dropped the original bear bits I was waiting for an opportunity to implement them more into the force. Now I can see an "Oops! All Thunderwolves" (Thunderbears) list happening with the new SM detachments, and printing 20 of these seems like an insane project.
Now for a Flamingo themed sydonian skatros
This Minsc and Boo conversion is pretty rad, IMO
Self-filling or self-leveling primers can really help hide all those lines for the printer
I'm just realizing because how each one of the minor groups of the space bears have different color schemes it makes me think of the dark Angels deathwing being bone color terminators and then you have the bike riding ones that are in all black and then you have the regular forces in green and cream
Because pretty much every other chapter keeps literally the same general color scheme for all their units except for librarians chaplains apothecary's and tech Marines disregarding certain emblems on shoulder armor and certain colors on helmets to signify squad and rank.
But I got to say I love how you guys Changed up each group having their own specific colors but keeping the main theme
I’m surprised Majorkill didn’t make an appearance.
I love this video! It is so fun seeing you guys just have fun and paint something "silly"
The little Joey is a really cute touch!
That is fair dinkum the most bonza thumbnail! Love the drop bears. They are as good as onions on top of a Bunnings snag!
I love this series. Also as an Australian I can attest that we do have drop bears.
you know you’ve made it when your homebrew successor chapter has its own successor chapters
Dang I thought Murray was going to use the epic guy as a forced perspective part of the base. Like the kangaroo jumped so high the regular guys look tiny
You nailed the dirty yellow chlamydia koala eyes 🤣
In regards to the Joey Marine... Has anyone considered conjoined twins?
I approve of the Koala "Drop Bear" Space Bear!
I know drop bear is their nickname but I thought scientifically speaking that koalas weren't related to bear or am I just wrong?
@@justinterry8894 they're marsupials, they're not bears because they don't have the Koalafications.
Maybe the space kangaroo chapter believes in caring for a little cherub joey to teach the marines to care for others notably civilian casualtys
A really good argument for anything properly silly in 40k is just "oh uh archaeotech" or something.
Like the joeybears could be actual normal spacemarines that have been miniaturized or something, or another demi-human type that proved compatible with the gene seed.
But anything sifficiently silly can be explained away with "uhhh dark age of technology"
Now we need a red bear techmarine and brown bear lieutenant
I like the orange wash, its like a dusty caravan look. Now you need some Emu scouts!
I usually like your painting choices ... but here, i cannot stay silent . Your DROP-BEAR jetpacks looks like one is spitting out LAVA! The other looks like its a WATER-JET, lol,! Cant wait too see what you do next, Cgeers!!!
That was an awesome bit of silliness. I like the colour schemes and especially the smoke plumes.
The successors of the space bears "The Space Kangaroos"
This just gives me the idea of a hyper aggressive assault intercessor squad called the “Sloth Bears”.
I probably don't have enough sway to direct the course of next project on Astra Primursa but I was always fascinated about
centurion warsuits. Maybe a squad of 3 of them based on prehistoric ancestors of grizly would be a possibility.
1:51 the way Murray stares at Dave is the same was Ross stares at Rachel before they went on a break
The Joey can be like cherubs or librarian familiar
Omg this was the coolest TTT video ever. I loved the colour schemes and they were so much fun!
Now just need an Akubra for the space marine.
Love to see this, but can we have some more of your hive fleet :)
I'd love to see some more Aussie themed stuff 😂
Maybe a bunjip or some irukanji tyranid spores - omg blue bottles something with them! My imagination is going on a journey 😂
I love when you guys go off script with paint. Well done!
Thank you for the free Jump pack Jet plumes! They look awesome :]
Finally!! I’ve been requesting these for like 6 videos!!
Drop bears are terrifying ,seen one tear half a Shellie's face off once just outside briz vegas .almost dropped my vb
Oh my god i love the joey. What hilarious genius.
As a Australian i can confirm, our small bears do love attacking people from above.
"Space Marine sits in the old gum tree, merry merry king of the gal-ax-y."
The little guy should be a statue of the previous holder of their geneseed. The one who came before still leading them into battle
Why is there a tiny marine? Well, you see, when a daddy marine and a mommy marine love each other very much...
I think you are on to something, Murray. Need some Tank Girl-esque Rippers.
... Now I gotta make a red kangaroo chapter. This has inspired me so much!
an idea lore of the joey marines, it's mutation of the progenoid glands (the organ that creates geneseed of a marine). Creating a more or less clone of the host marine in a pouch. Possibly deemed a heretical abnormality
We have a rescued ferret called Tuesday........she arrived on a Tuesday.....also shes a bit like Wednesday without the existential horror, but she usually gets called Drop Bear
The joey could be a servo skull built as a spacemarine wargear
oathe mate, the Red Kangaroo looks mad bro, great work guys! Really did well with the gum leaves as well!
Will there be other national space bears, representing various parts of the world, such as the Andean bear from the Amazon rainforest or polar bears? Perhaps even a lively auction for the existing space bear figures to raise funds for the upcoming wave of bears?
Both models looks amazing. The plumes are fantastic. Ive signed up for the KS and looking forward to it.
This is awesome!!! You could add grizzlies and kodiacks as Terminators, and Polar bears as dreadnoughts
They're distantly related to the wild-roaming Drop-Goats of Aberystwyth.
Loyal Thousand sons legionier!!! that character looks cool.
The pistols look like the Nerf Maverick. Now I just can't unsee it. 🙈
Please make OPR-compatible stat blocks for them for Grimdark Future. That would be a BIG plus.
Those jetpacks are almost orci.
I love them!!!
I think the Joey Marine would be really fun as a kind of mid combat repairman, maybe he can enter inside the armour to repair damage. Would make the marine a bit scarier if it looked like his armour was magically sealing itself while he's still jumping at you
Kangaroo Joey - "Who runs Bartertown?!"
I think you should also let majorkill showcase these
Totally gonna paint those pistols as a yellow nerf revolver
The space marine and his pet rattling
Started reading system apocalypse Australia!! Please read and make creatures based of that !! Imagine Australian wildlife mutating!!
I really wish we could get a Steve Irwin Captain for the Aussie Space Bears.
You notice that Aussies never talk about the terror weapon they created during WW2. They would use Vegemite sandwiches on a fishing rod to lure drop bears into oil barrels, weld on the top, and then drop them out of their AU21 Kookaburra light bombers onto Japanese troop concentrations. Whole islands in the South Pacific are still off limits. Horrific stuff.
Excellent work on these two minis. I'm thinking of maybe Space Badgers for a UK Themed Chapter. 🦡🦡🦡🦡🐍
Was up early enough to catch this as it dropped exciting!
These minis are really astounding, also their colour scheme has an ancient 's Rome vibe.
P.s. I imagine that as Aussies you'll know that in (VERY) ancient times in Oz really existed giant carnivourous Koalas, very frightening.
Dissapointed the bolt pistol wasn't painted bright orange and blue. No way Nerf blasters weren't the inspiration for the weapon
Thinking that the red kangaroo one could just be marines that have suffered a gene seed organ failure and so the "Joey's", are servitors that assist with compensating the failure.
I don't think such failures would be tolerated tho
@@klyk69 don't be so sure, many chapters have failed organs from geneseed mutation etc. it could work.
oh I know where this is going: Drop Bears?
I also want to see one as Willy the Olympic Mascot from 1984.
Shut up and take my money! I need space bears!
Paint some sternguard as "Grizzly Bears"
Jazza lately draw Chansey/Blissey with monster, absolutely not looking like teethed D, emerging from it's pouch and now a Kangaroo Space Bear... i kinda see a pattern here 🤣
Would love to see some more successor chapters
space beareas are the sucesro
Oh guys you have to Name the captain “Osphranter rufus”!
Awesome results!
Also, may I just recommend testing your marines and your painting skills on an Owlbear...
Was hoping for a Vegitmite inspired Space Bear, also, is Murray wearing a child's TTT tee?
Your Joey on the drop marines front can be explained as a small recon drone..........
So stoked for this!!
So we have drop bears and definitely not just a blood angel in disguise 😉
if there are prototypes of space drop bears, there should also be prototypes of space care bears, right? Its part of the process 🤣
So does the vegemite behind the ears "hack" work to keep you safe?
I love how the printer lines Make certain areas look like its wood grain texture Really makes me think of boomerangs and didgeridoos
Are we able to use spacebears for 40k games? Obviously not tournaments but how do their rules work...?
I just love hearing you Underworlder people say, "baezz."
I hear you like space marines- so I put a space marine on your space marine!
I don’t have access to a 3d printer will you be doing purchasable unpainted space bears?
