@@evofake Base price of a Bugatti Chiron is 3 million dollars. This C8 Corvette would run you at most like 100k, plus whatever modifications they've done so lets say 175k to be generous. That means you could buy 17 of these C8 Corvettes for the price of 1 dumb Buggati Chiron. And I bet revving 17 c8's at the same time would make the Chiron sound like a smart car.

Making those turns at 200 appears scary. And all the bumps keeping it on the road.. Amazing. Test of nerve and car for sure. A smoother straighter stretch of pavement may have yielded a higher top speed.

They don't go into sharp turns at that speed, they'd kill themselves, only hammer down full throttle on straightaways.

I’d love to see what their twin turbo version can do. Apparently the transmission isn’t strong enough to handle the power or something. The project seems to be on hold. I clicked on this because I thought it was related to the turbo project.

The beginning for me was very unexpected! The build up of the noise felt like forever, and i thought "this isnt gonna be cool" but as soon as the car passed, i couldnt help but smile! Amazing job guys! Glad to see stradman along for the ride!

That instability reminded me of me going 100+ on the highway leaving Minot AFB going south in 62 Corvette w/340 HP in Fall 1967. Recently purchased it from the Chevrolet dealer in Minot and took this one opportunity. Usually, when leaving the airbase and a new 427 Corvette was exiting we would have a little run. He had Captain bars, I had two stripes. He would leave me in the first quarter mile and I would catch up a while later. His big block was wound tight and my 327 was tacking up but the very low road gears I still had room before the 6200 red line. However, the car felt very air born and me getting weak knees.....

@@evansautomotive307 but I've seen it done in a old Mercedes Benz way smoother what Im assuming is since the car is so small and light and moving 170+ without the downforce of the spoiler that they took off makes the car want to kind of float around at the slightest of bumps which is freaky props to the driver tho

Dude, the way that steering wheel was moving around, that car wasn’t too far from reaching it’s V1 lift-off as well.
I am both impressed and horrified. That car body needs aero kits and a suspension tune before they should attempt that again.

Lol a Camaro ZL1 vs a base model Corvette with an exhaust and a shot of NoS and no tune.. don’t get me wrong, I love Camaro’s, but you gotta compare apples to apples. Compare the last ZR1 to the ZL1 or the next gen ZL1 and ZR1 that’s not released yet. Vette will be on top every time
You're right...it didn't go 217mph....but I agree with matthew. That's apples vs oranges. That was a 1,000hp supercharged engine in the exorcist that went 217. This is a 650hp naturally aspirated engine in the vette. I don't think any 650hp natural aspirated camaro has gone 205mph. And you put a supercharger on the vette and get it to 1000hp and you can bet it will go over 217mph.

The Exorcist Camaro is a 1000hp beast. It's a good bit heavier than the Vette, 200+ more HP, and didn't remove anything from the car to reduce drag (that I remember).

Our local Chevy dealership advertises the C8 as a Mid engined land missile. I couldn’t agree more. I also saw an M plate C8 being tested along side a Ferrari 488 last fall, and they sounded identical at highway speeds. Guessing it’s the Z06. It got away before I could catch it on camera.

Probably not much. Top speed tends to be dictated more by aero than weight. Veyron weighs nearly two tons for example, but it's very aero optimized to hit 250
Yes defiantly I did an all out mile in Nevada and got up to 140MPH. I had my navigator jump out and did 149MPH.
