Ask GPT to act like an expert English teacher, than ask questions and voila

  • @bautiq

What I personally use for better conversations with GPT is prompt engineering. I make it behave like and actor to have real life conversations and at the same time it can also correct my writing at the end of his replies and give suggestions how to improve. This way I can utilise the full potential of the chatbot. Anyway, great video!

Ask him for example: give me please English grammar exercise , or write an essay and ask him to rate your language style. You will wonder how powerful it is.

You can ask for them to act as if they are a friend, a work colleague, a Liverpool supporter and tell them it's to improve your English. You can have a conversation in which he corrects your mistakes or clarifies some of what he says. The key is to give it context.

Interesting, it was good idea to test them. I work in IT and we use a chatbot almost every day, they are still very far from feeling to speak to real person, but very useful for troubleshooting. To never use personal or sensitive info online or with AI is as obvious as to pay in supermarket.. Explaining grammar or topics with examples is surely something which polyglots appreciate a lot, but will probably never reach the fun level to learn with good, witty tutor like yourself 😄

“We all do no end of feeling, and we mistake it for thinking" Mark Twain. It is quite extraordinary to expect a software without feelings to behave like a human being.

Great English lesson. I use a software called Praktika to practice my English speaking skills, but it’s not like a native English speaker. Are you on Itaki or preply?

Can i ask you what are some best books to read for improving formal english communication & would love to know your favourite english speaker of all time ?? I admire Michael sugrue & Shashi tharoor

I think it depends on your needs. If you need formal communication skills for work, find books about your specific field as it will be interesting and useful for you! It’s hard to choose my favourite English speaker but I do like the Belfast accent!

@@smashingenglish Thanks a Ton !! One more doubt which i had is what technique should be used to improve fluency alone at home when there's no partner ? I have heard reading out loud & shadowing are there any better options to increase fluency dramatically..

Also does being a fluent/perfect speaker increase our value drastically ? In terms of payscale & rising up the ladder.. could you share some examples of people who have benefited..

how intelligent Chatgpt is depends on how accurately you give informations to it. You can just let Chatgpt revice your sentences it will be doing a good job.
