Aunt LOU , To keep your bread bottom from turning too brown ( of course some browning is great ) may I suggest cutting a piece of cardboard about a quarter inch thick the shape of your slow cooker & cover it in aluminum foil & put it in first under your dough , & when you go to turn your insert 180 ° you could look under your bread & check it for browning & if it's not brown enuff you could simply remove the cardboard & finish baking your bread to your desired browness ...👌👍🤗😁 P.S. Being you had a roll of paper towels handy there on the table , you could've put one underneath your bowl to keep it from sliding off the table ....😁😁😁😎😎

What they want you to do, is put all dry ingredients in the bowl then make a well in dry ingredients and put wet in the well then add dry ingredients till cleans the bowl
