You have most of the tools to do these audio measurements, but you are doing many of them improperly. Outdoor ground plane measurements require both the source (speaker) and the receiving device (microphone or SPL meter) to be placed on the ground to minimize cancellations from reflection to the ground, and you have to de-rate measurements by 6dB, or else place the microphone 2 meters away instead of 1 meter to compensate for the extra 6dB you get from ground plane loading. Amplifier power is usually rated at 1kHz (or some other in-band frequency like 100 Hz if 1kHz cannot be fed) with the amplifier connected to a resistive load, not a driver, because the driver produces Back EMF (so you will read less power, not more). Get these techniques right and you may have something.
Great video, nice to see the SMD RMS watt meter. One thing, you should get a better SPL meter that can read dBC. dBA doesn't take bass into account and isn't very useful for testing subs.
Hey guys, I wanna let you know that they're already releasing the new Harbinger VARI V4400 Series, and I would like to you guys to review it once they're already released.
Wow I just looked it up, and I have the v4112, but dang I bought it this year about 5 months ago, but I'm still going to keep it and buy the new series 4412 😎😎🎉🎊
Awesome review! I really like the introduction to the Actual Rms counter. I think you guys should do a review on the Harbinger V4115. I've always wanted to see the actual wattage output it makes. could I get the name of the song playing in the background at around 16:14
That’s the only reason I stopped purchasing Harbinger Subs, they are under powered vs the competition but they do last and sound good. I sold most of them but I still have one I use at church. When I deejay I pair my Harbinger 4112 tops with the QSC KS118 or the E118 or my pair of JBL subs.
What is the purpose of the surround on this sub vs. the typical large/high excursion surrounds on most subs? Is one supposed to sound better, and one louder?
The more you abuse it, the life expectancy will definitely decrease. If you peak the sub a few times, it won't hurt it BUT I wouldn't be constantly peaking it. These do have amazing built in limiting, but everything has a limit at some point before failure.
Hey guys I need some help bigtime !! I've got the 4112 tops and the vs12 subs .. I've ran them at like 10 gigs so far and I cant get them how I want em it's like I'm having to babysit them all night to clip them.. I'm running them with the pioneer ddj1000 directly from the board.. what the best setting to run these.. I'm still learning how to do sub cuts and works. Any info yall can give me would be amazing .. ty
Wow this is just a generic cheap Chinese subwoofer..But that shouldn’t be an issue if you’re not expecting it to perform as more expensive better quality brands…the 699 price point is where this should be…
Look good to me!
Another awesome video! Great review dudes 😄
Thank you!
Great video likes always
Appreciate it!
Love it!!!🎉
love for you to test Rockville DX15 pa speakers
i was waiting so badly for this review
Please do the EV EKX15sp or QSC KS212C next please 🙏🏼
EKX15SP is 600Watts RMS, I did measurement

Exactly.
To measure lower frequencies i would use dbZ, dbA has a rolloff below 1000hz. But I'm not an audio expert
Please upload more videos

Keep an eye out 😉
@@2DudesAudio yes sir😊, Harbinger is the best choice

Insane 🎉
Nice video. But you shouldn’t measure the spl level A weighted but rather C weighted on bass frequencies.
would be cool to see a D&B J-sub here one day :)
Love the thermal camera! did not know that those inductors got piping hot!!
wow, an SMD D'Amore Engineering AMM-1 from the car audio world!
No one can beat the qsc powered speakers dude
I want to see the BASSBOSS or the JBL the new subwoofer
Awesome video!! Looking forward to watch more! A sub is out! very good
Review the new v4412 and v4415 harbingers!! Thank you
We might already have them 😬
As my grandfather used to say, looks like some complete gaarbagé
What is the power transistor driver of this subwoofer mjl21194?

Hey fellas!
What is the purpose of the surround on this sub vs. the typical large/high excursion surrounds on most subs? Is one supposed to sound better, and one louder?
usb is for firmware i guess
Output isn't clean, the harmonics are quite apparent in the spectrum analysis.
Please don't measure subwoofers in dB(A) because it rolls off very steeply under like 250Hz... It should be measured in dB(C)!
Try 6 of The harbinger subs to the bottom add six more to the top then put four harbinger tops of the 400 series play music out loud that is
hope someday someone will sponsor for you to review cerwin vega speakers.. are they still alive??
We spoke with them at the NAMM convention. Maybe they lost our address. 🤔🤷
I have this sub and I'm curious, is it bad to run it while it's limiting constantly? I'm new to this stuff lol

Yes.. The thing about these subs is that drivers are terribly cheap and I've blown drivers even without clipping.
@@redvivid Are they replaceable and if so can I do it myself? haha
@@2DudesAudio Thanks man!
@@yoponono you can replace them but honestly the amp doesn't protect whatever driver you replace it with.
Very low output, may not be cheap considering the output

That looks like the copy of Rcf 8001
so it is 280 watts amp ! basically !
