While on a toy hunt this past weekend, my twins and I finally found a New In Box copy of Netflix WFC Soundwave! We were so excited and wanted to pick it up even though it was expensive, BUT at the end, we left it because: 1. We have the Dramatic Capture Nemesis Bridge Soundwave 2. We have pre-ordered Legacy United Leader Class Soundwave 3. Even though it’s new in box, both thighs of this Netflix Soundwave already started yellowing/changing colors. If we found it 3-4 months ago, we would’ve picked it up in a heartbeat. But with so many options now, and the discoloring issue, nah… This brings to mind the Earthrise Megatron yellowing issue which also put us off on buying it.
What sucks about the Netflix set is it comes with Ravage as well. I would honestly not recommend someone buying Netflix Soundwave even if they don't spot yellowing because it can. Bridge Set is good but I think the best of both worlds will be both sets. One for the Laserbeak and one for the cassettes. This will be my 6th copy because I pre-ordered the Legacy United set. The Bridge set is the way to go for now
This cost a lot to bring over to Canada even with $109 US preorder price, but after having it for a while now I love everything about this set, and saw a necessity to buying it for all three of them. Legacy gave me a Siege Soundwave, Generation Selects did a fantastic job of G2 Megatron using Earthrise, and well I guess I had an Enegon Shockwave kicking around. Great way to get G1 specific updates of all three without the yellowing issues of the original figures. If there was one thing I could complain about it's Shockwaves dead black eyes. Supposedly they're light piped, but for as little effect as they have I'd have taken a red paint instead. Other that all three/four if you count laser beak are great, painted or colored spectacularly, and Coronation chair is a fun inclusion. I love how Megatron looks seated and in command without him having to rely on his bad Q/C to stand upright. Finally have a definitive Shockwave, won't need the 86 Soundwave, and Megatron's in charge until 86 Megatron probably does it better.
Yeah I was looking to just get Shockwave, but everyone was selling him for at least $50 more than the whole set. Megatron is amazing I just don't want to scratch the paint.
I bought this because of the yellowing of the original mold figures. Im glad i got this set. It does have issues that can be fixed. And i got my money back by selling my Netflix Soundwave and siege Shockwave and some other figures i didn't want. Love the paint on them. Hate what they did to Soundwave's light piping. But still glad i bought this set.
If I didn't decide to get a Nemesis Bridge Shockwave, had I not decided to buy this, I would have gotten the Comic Shockwave....and I might get him for the Creation Matrix so who knows...
was probably only going to get this cause i wanted shockwave so badly but i could probably find him for a cheaper price then this set💀💀 also if that earthirise sound wave yellows again like the original and shattered glass version they should just cancel the mold until they can get proper materials, g1 toys back then were made out of diecast metal. who cares about better engineering when we have to rely on plastic and friction holding the thing together.
Yeah based on the colors of the plastic for the joints they seem to be molded in a lighter colored plastic than the Earthrise versions so hopefully that will be better
@@YellinInMyEar I think it's something else....I replaced screws from the Earthrise version where I can and I noticed a better tightness especially with Megatron
I got a crazy idea, since everyone is worrying about what ss86 Megatron alt mode will be and how it could potentially affect the robot modes appearance if it’s a tank. Well, how bout this.. he just not have an alt mode. Like he’ll just be molded so that his robot mode is perfected. I know it’s a stretch but i really can’t think of any other way where his robot mode will be true to his G1 cartoon look. I’m pretty sure most won’t mind.
This has literally been my thinking as well. Problem is most fans I think would hate that as the point of a transformer is to transform. That and there are already a lot of options out there for a non transforming G1 accurate Megatron so other than scaling not sure what Habro could do differently. Despite what Hasbro ends up doing really hoping he'll include a small scale G1 accurate gun mode so Starscream can properly wield him. I don't think we've seen that since MP01.
@@coffeeinhandproductions3238 idk man, most ppl who buy these figures now are adults. And most of the time they only have them for show, to collect, to have them posing. Adults spend very little time if at all i think actually playing with them. I think since Megatron is such a rare specific case because of his og g1 alt mode, i think hasbro and fans should make that exception so that his robot mode is not compromised because of the alt mode and stays true to the cartoon aesthetic, which is suppose to be the point of the 86 line.

Although the color is in reverse, I do have Shattered Glass Laserbeak so that will have to do until I can find a secondhand Laserbeak somewhere.

Yeah I bought it for Shockwave...and I don't regret it. Megatron is equally the star of the show in robot mode.
A little hardwood floor restorer in the knee joints works to fix Megatron.
Yeah but the inner thighs are the issue so when I take it apart that I will do just that
Wanted this set soo badly but had to cancel my pre-order due to finances.
I did pick up the comic book Shockwave and that thing is a boss.

Are you planning to review the Dramatic Capture Autobot HQ?
If I get the spark to buy it...who knows?!?
just got pulse shockwave the comic are all dead..looks awesome aswell
I might pick him up for just the extra Prime head ...
Maybe I am a little negative now, but I do not expect the upcoming SS86 Megatron to have more silvering and premium finish than this one.
I'm wondering what he will look like too. The paint job on this one is superb!!
@@superroboted It is really a shame about the quality issues mate. But by now we are so used to something loose lol

Floppy legs is probably mold degradation. I mean they need to retire this mold.

@@superroboted Great fix! Glad you were able to fix it, but shouldn't have to with the prices these are in now a days.😅
@YellinInMyEa I agree

Mainline toys sold retail will always transform. I withhold any judgements until I see confirmed leaks or pics

@@coffeeinhandproductions3238 They did make a small G1 styled gun Megatron in the Centurion set
