    Play the study game!
Every time I say “or something like that” read 5 more pages in your textbook
If I tell you what the nurse shouldn't do, go over your flashcards
When I talk to the "patient" do 5 ATI practice questions
Every time I mime something watch a video from the Study Tips play list

Thank you so much for this informative video on seizure care. I am a current nursing student, and this is extremely helpful. I had a patient who had a seizure, and I didn't know what to do I yelled for my nurse who dragged her feet. It frustrated me.

During seizure episodes should we raise ALL the bed side rails or just 3 sides? And suctioning is to be done during the seizures activity or when its over? What is the rationale of checking the pupils? Excellent lecture!

Checking the pupils can help determine the cause which helps determine treatment. Yes put up all 4 it's okay because it's temporary and not a restraint in this situation. Suctioning is done during and a bit after if there is a lot of vomiting.

question if we are not really to touch the patient is it appropriate to turn them on their side and place the oxygen on and if not to put anything in the mouth where to put the yankeur

It's ok to turn them on their side or turn their head to the side, but don't hold them down. Suction can be held in the mouth and removed as needed but don't put something like a tongue depresser in the mouth.

Is it a nurses responsibility to clean up an epileptic if they poop their pants during a seizure?
