I'm just explaining what I did to finally get my ipod classic to sync and hopefully save you guys 5 hours of farting around hope it saves you guys some time
Dude!! I was just about to click off this video thinking "he's smoked out of his bin this lad" and then you brought up the music page with the "sync" box not ticked!! You've just restored my faith in humanity as well as my iPod.
OH MY GOD! THANK YOU!!! My iPod had genuine problems that required repairs, and when I got it back restored, it wouldn't sync anymore. My son's iPod has had the same problem for several years and I've been manually managing the files all this time. What a pain in the ass. I REALLY didn't want to do it with my own device. So I've just spent the last two days trying to find a solution and finally found your video...and you're right! The damned box was un-ticked! I ticked it and presto, everything's back in order. I bet I can fix my son's device, too, now. I could kiss you. Thanks, too, for making me laugh my head off for three minutes with your narration. I was so pissed off about the iPod problem. I really needed the laughs!
Jason, You're a lifesaver. I spent at least as much time as you did and couldn't figure this out. The dudes that take these devices apart and modify them didn't have any help for me either. You solved this problem which is a very big part of my 9-year-old's musical life. We both thank you very much. Cheers

Bro this helped me a lot I have spent 5 days solving this problem and he is a live save because if I hadent found this video I would still be in this problem. Also, it works on all ipods.

Great Help Jason, thank you very much. As you did I spent hours trying to get my IPOD classic to sync. It went into restore mode and then the sync would no longer work. Once I watched your video and clicked on the Music Sync button at 2:39. It's syncing now and restoring my songs from the ITunes library.

I'm going to try this later tonight with my older Ipod Classic, I had given up on it last year after it stopped synching and restoring it didn't seem to help anymore. I have a newer lossless player but I swear the Ipod sounded better, and of course, had a lot more memory on its drive. The battery on mine (160 gig version, I got it in 2010 or so) seems fine, taking a full charge, so I hope it's not that the HD got damaged. If so, though, I hear you can replace that too, cheaply. If not, I'm chucking it, unless Apple will still replace it, which I don't believe they still will? One thing, I love the Ipod but I fucking HATE ITunes, and always did. I don't like it, don't like the proprietary nature of it, clunky as shit, doesn't really sound all that good although the IPod itself sounds pretty good, and I was just never thrilled with devices that lock you into their own shitty software, like the shitty Sony old Minidisc OpenMG nonsense, or the Sony Walkman software, etc. Just keep it open to developers and stop busting our fucking balls, we paid what, $400 almost for the Ipod originally? Then let me do whatever I fucking want with it!
I totally agree, that's why I spent all fricking day trying to figure my ipod out cuz I was like, man they almost try to trick you into thinking you need a new ipod
I just restored my Ipod and recopied all the stock music from my backup HD from a few years ago on it, made sure the sync button was engaged, and lo and behold, so far at least, it seems to be back in action! I'm astounded. I just hope it lasts. I thought I was detecting that it was starting to glitch out a year or two ago, not syncing fast anymore, crashing, I had to restore it several times and it kept malfunctioning. Maybe the settings were just not right, not sure. Anyway, I may have salvaged it, thanks again man! It took almost 3 hrs. though to recopy only maybe 40 Gigs worth of music. I have the same iPod classic 120gb. Lost 15 years worth of music collection 😢. Gave it to a local dj to help me out but I think he did something wrong. He installed 6gb worth of music but only accessible through disk mode and iPod can’t sync to iTunes I have been trying to delete his music and restore to original format but all in vain need help.Thanks
Plug ur IPOD to ur laptop, u have to have iTunes, make sure to use a good cord to ur IPod not a cheap one or it may not work make sure the music button has a check mark in it and hit the sync button
Ive been having an error message on my itunes for some time when syncing but it was still doing it regardless. Now it won't sync at all so I'll try this!
its funny, same thing happened to me. but itunes froze, and i wasnt thinking to disconnect my ipod before i logged out to get it back to normal. completely screwed up my ipod. now i can finally restore it and its a sunday..hahah.

Mine was checked, on screen all music is there, but when I turn on ipod, it says NO MUSIC....WTH...help....??!

So in my total at the bottom is says 1198 songs 41 GB but in the bar for the ipod says 6.25 GB 1198 songs.any and for that
