I can't even comprehend this level of casual skill but boy is it fun to watch
Wow, incredible fun, can imaging ! You are Crazy Good ! Thanks for showing, HOW.....
Rad suspension. Glad they held it back do I could see another video of the old rig 👌👌👌
Pat made the Masterdon famous. The promo video from a few years ago you did for the Masterdon is my favorite fat bike video of all time. It made me go out and buy a new fat bike to upgrade from my old fat bike.
Proud to have Pat as part of the Manitou and Hayes Family!
@@HayesPerformanceSystems you really couldn't have a better spokesman. His riding sells the product.
Great Fat bike in action..... im fatbike user here
thanks for including the misses. i hate to admit it but it really makes me smile when you miss... reason being i am truley jelous of just how good you are at this. of course i dont actually want you to get hurt because then there would be NO hope for me... THANKS for the vid.
Glad you enjoy that part. Maybe it helps show how hard it is since cameras never do things justice.
Miss my fatbike
Another bike wizard…you are not human….
Haha thanks!
Phenomenal! Love my mastodon pro
No , it is an impossible thing to do for 98% of us at least .....lol
Great riding. Skinnies and logs seem easier on my fat bike so long as I have the PSI correct. But way less "english" needed to stay on center than my 29er trail bike.
Cool
Hey Pat Smage! Nice fork! What travel on that beast? Love the fat trials as always! Ride ride ride!
Hey! It’s at 120mm
Can you reduce the travel to 100mm?
Very sick.... I miss my trials days. 23 years later, 60 pounds heavier... n just old ...lol
Question is... how wide to do run your bars. I'm use to the old dh bars... n now this 800mm wide thing has me second guessing my bar width... I'm 6ft
Where are you that it had snowed already
I’ll bet he’s in the spring of 2022. :-)
@@jeffhayes1855 you're probably right, it's still pretty warm across the country for snow. When I saw it it said he had posted the video just a few minutes prior but he probably filmed it months before he decided to post it
This was from the end of last winter. The fork was supposed to launch then, but got delayed until recently so I had to wait for it to come out to post it.
This fork is barely acceptable for winter IME. It sucks down over time and doesn't have an equalization port like Fox/RS forks, so it doesn't equalize at full extension. And because they sag under their weight when you hook up a pump and activate the equalization, you have to pull it apart or else it'll be sucked down just from filling it (or turn bike upside down and pull up). This is overall not a good system. The colder the weather, the poorer it performs and it's only rated down to something like 10-20F, which is ridiculous for a winter fork. Even more ridiculous is that it uses an air spring instead of coil, massive change during temps not to mention relying on air seals under these circumstances. The Bluto is even worse, but these forks have a long ways to go before they are decent for their intended purpose IME.
Hmm well as far as I know I have not had that problem and have ridden in below zero temperatures. It’s been much better than anything else I’ve tried in all temps with less change. Maybe you got a bad one? I’ve had a few.
@@PatSmage Below 0F or 0C?
@@JamesNoBrakes Fahrenheit
@@PatSmage Me too on the -F temps, you have to admit, coil springs are much more consistent with less failure points for cold weather.
@@JamesNoBrakes yeah that would make sense. I just haven’t had issues with the mastodon and hope I don’t run into any.
Did you ever try Wren forks dude? Lots of improvements since the early days, and they might send you out a pair if they tell them who you are, and Kevin Wren and his partner Russ seem like excellent blokes. I just got a set myself (second hand) and despite some issues with the rebound on mine, they're way better than my Mastodons, and I know saying that is going to make some people mental, lol. Love your vids mate, great ambassador for Fat bikes. 🤘🤘
I had one of the early ones and ran into some things I didn't like which led me to the Mastodon. Good to hear they are making improvements though! Seemed like it had potential.
