To put the Leicester thing into perspective, earlier that year it was announced that Peter Capaldi was leaving Doctor Who. The odds on The Queen of England taking the role were 4000/1. There was statistically more chance of The Queen playing The Doctor than there were of Leicester winning the league. It was truly the greatest underdog story in history and they haven't stopped, they've ran with it. Did well in next season's CL, consistently finished in the top 6 beat some poor, unsuspecting nobody's 9-0 on their own ground (Saints fan here) and then last season won the FA Cup. English Premier league the most watched sports league in the world. Regular season games (not a final of anything) between Liverpool and Man Utd can get a billion global viewers. To put that in perspective the biggest game in American sport, the super bowl, has a record of only 120m global viewers
I mean, the point is fair (football is a more watched sport than the NFL) but the numbers here are pure nonsense. Regular season games do not get anywhere near to a billion viewers. The champions league final (the biggest game of the year besides world cups) gets about 350 million viewers. Which again, is more than the Superbowl, but in no universe does a regular season game get more viewers that the Superbowl, besides maybe some of the bigger Classicos down the years, but that is a big maybe.
@@shanemccauley8009 Didn't have the energy to correct his numbers personally. I've heard some classicos get to about 100 million views which wouldn't shock me. I follow football but rarely watch it in real time. Classicos do tend to be the biggest exception to that rule for me. A billion is world cup level, nothing else basically.
@@Londronable just to be sure I looked up the actual viewership. The record number of people watching a single Premier league match (official viewership only) was 5 million last season. Yep. In theory a team could also qualify for the Champions League through winning the Europa League while also getting relegated as well, but this has never happened and is also highly unlikely.
@@theblackswordsman9951 Because european club tournaments have nothing to do with you going to the 2nd league. You drop, you dont see the Europe. Its easy.
In fact all the top European football leagues work the same way: the teams at the bottom of the ranking are relegated, the first wins the championship the teams at the top of the ranking qualify for European competitions (Champions league, europa league). For the European competitions, there is the UEFA index which classifies all the European leagues according to the number of European titles (all times) won by the clubs of each league and thus determines the number of places reserved for these leagues. For example in England the first four qualify for the Champions League while in France it is the first three.
yeah what i found a bit sad here was the lack of passion. we have a lot of fans of teams abroad (i do think people should at least support a team from their country, but thats another story) and a lot of them still feel the club. in here is just a guy wanting to be entertained with football. i think its really hard for americans to get that our club is not about entertainment, is about winning and it's also about our own identities. some part of us are linked to the club we support, and i believe most americans wont be able to understand that, cause they wont get the affection we have for our clubs. yeah, they have a lot of fans in sports, but if benfica went to the champions league final and lost i wouldnt talk for like a week. i think they would move on way easier cause the clubs in general are just made for entertainment, with no passion or love (i know there are excepcions, dont get me wrong).
Just some basketball/soccer random fact. Kobe Bryant as a kid lived for some time in Italy where he learned to play soccer. He became a fan of the sport. As everyone know Kobe wore 24 & 8 with the Lakers. But if you ever saw him play for the men’s national basketball team in the olympics, Kobe always wore #10. In soccer #10 is that guy on the field, if you west #10 you basically telling everybody you ready to carry the team on his shoulders. Kobe’s favorite soccer player is Ronaldinho and I’m sure somewhere on the internet there is a Kobe Bryan doing a little soccer trick with a basketball at one of his trainings.
I'd totally watch you two play FIFA against each other for the first time. Getting FIFA is a good shout, you'll learn a lot about the sport by playing the game

Jay-Z supports Arsenal Spike Lee supports Arsenal Sylvester Stallone supports Everton Dr Dre supports Liverpool LeBron James supports Liverpool Floyd Mayweather supports Manchester United Justin Timberlake supports Manchester United Jennifer Aniston supports Watford. Ryan Reynolds supports and co owns Wrexham FC
31:40 That would never happen. European competitions value sporting integrity over entertainment. Imagine spending millions, playing your heart out, risking injury and earning a place in the Premier League, then some suit says 'Actually we're changing the rules so the popular team who sucks is gona take your place, better luck next time.' Someone will get lynched. If you make your competition fair, the best teams will rise to the top automatically. If they can't, they don't deserve to be there. End of
You should definitely pick a entertaining side. It's a lot more fun to actually have a team to support, it makes it so much more interesting. Also a lot of banter between fans of different clubs which is funny. Manchester United and Liverpool are the big names which probably will be the most covered anywhere in the world. They both should also be playing entertaining football now with Manchester United appointing a new offensive coach.

Literally, the Premier League is like the NBA of the football leagues. All teams are good and it has its surprises like a big team losing to a small one. Im not from England but Argentina, and I think the Premier League is the best football league.
Relegation is the worst thing that can happen to a football team. Main reason is money and it snowball into many issues. 1. People only wants to watch the top league. Each team gets 42 million USD each season off TV revenue. 2. The league below Premier League, teams only get 12 million USD. Reason no body watches it. 3. Reduce sponsorship for relegated teams. Sponsors pay top money for their brand to be featured on teams' jersey. If you are relegated, ain't nobody gonna pay good money for their brands to be featured on a shitass league with no viewership. 4. With the reduce of TV revenue and sponsorships. Relegated teams have to sell players, reducing operating cost to keep the club running. 5. Selling players = selling your best players. You best player only wants to play in the top league. Top team will be raiding your squad for good players at bargain price. 6. After selling half of the team. You need to rebuild but remember, you ain't got money and you ain't in the top league. The players relegated team can attract are of mediocre quality. Decent enough for lower league but not good enough to be in the top league. 7. From point 1 to 6 above is the BEST scenario for a relegated team. The worst scenario are teams that took loans to buy players, expending stadium etc while they are in the top league. Many relegated teams with debt can't even put up a decent team to compete in the lower league. 8. Those teams that cannot remain the the 2nd tier get relegated into the 3rd tier league. There are 11 tiers of English football league. 9. Many relegated team never make it back to the Premier League. There are teams with hundred of years of history that needs to be liquidated because they can no longer generate enough income to pay off their debts and they cease to exist.
The KGB was the much feared and hated, State Security Agency of the USSR, throughout the Cold War. It was dissolved in 1991 after the break up of the USSR. Vladimir Putin served 16 years in the as a foreign intelligence officer until resigning in 1991 to pursue a political career.
Your question on being threatened with relegation in the Prem and winning the CL at the same time is a good one. Although that scenario is very unlikely. Firstly these 2 tournaments run simultaneously. So to be brilliant in the one and shit in the other is REALLY unlikely. Remember, in the CL you are playing the top clubs in European Football.
The question about being relegated plus being the in Champions League, you still get relegated. Your win or position in the Champions League doesn't affect your domestic national league standing (Since the Champions League involves many national leagues). Also, around pronouncing names - to put into perspective, I've lived in a town called Exeter that had actual Roman ruins just around town. Leicester and it's name (named after the city) are so old that it's been round for probably 2-3000 years. It's adapted to modern English to Leicester after thousands of years of slight variation, so the written word is not always the same as the pronounced. You see it slightly happen in America too.
As a west ham fan go for west ham because he have die hard loyal fans that are passionate and somewhat violent and been through relegations but currently during this season we are 4th
To answer the tournament question: There's also the FA Cup which all English teams compete in - a few years ago Wigan were in last position of the EPL, going to be relegated and they were playing in the final to win entry into the European leagues. So it can be completely crazy in that regard, where they would end up being in the second division of English Football, playing the best teams in Europe, the following season.
For the question "If you get relegated but somehow win the Champions League at the same point" - It is HIGHLY unlikely that this will happen - but: That Team would still get relegated to the 2nd Division and they would qualify to play in the Champions League in the following Season as the Title Holder. It would just suck for the Team that is finishing 4th in the Premier League, that spot would normally qualify you for the CL - but since there can only be 4 Teams from England in that Tournament, only the first three out of the 1st League + the Winner of the CL, in our case the relegated Team, will play in the CL the next season.
Actually the 4th placed PL team would still qualify for the CL, as the maximum number of teams from a single federation (nation) is 5, not 4. If, lets say, the 6th and 7th placed teams in the PL won the CL and the EL respectively, THEN the 4th placed team would lose out. And to show this, i'll show to last season's La Liga, where 7th placed Villareal won the Europa League, all top four La Liga sides (Atletico, Real, Barca and Sevilla) as well as Villareal (EL title holders), qualified to the Champions League. This happened. But if, for some weird reason, 6th placed Real Betis managed to win the CL in the same season, then only top 3 (Atl, RM and Bar), as well as title holders Real Betis and Villareal, would qualify, at the expence of 4th placed Sevilla.

Leicester fan here. We wrote one of the greatest underdog stories in football history, and now we're considered a mid-tier club(kinda struggling in 2021 currently, but hey, there's still time)!
1-) To understand how relegated clubs survive we need to understand how football clubs make money. Basically, exihibition rights (television and pay-per-view), participation on the league (the federation financially helps the clubs), and fans (buying club stuff and going to the games). When a club relegate, the tv rights price, that usually are the large receipt, fall but not enough to make a club crack. They also survive because the amount of money that you need to find a team to play the 1st division is way bigger than to play the 2nd. And clubs usually have their reserves, so it's hard a club dont survive nowadays. But obviously that there are clubs that "die". An example is Nottingham Forest, 2 times Champions League champion in 70s, that is in this days waving between the 2nd and 3rd division of England. 2-) KGB = Russia's old FBI i think haha. 3-) If i undestood you, yes will be relegated, don't matter if it's the small Brentford or the current european champions, if in the end of the season the team be on the last 3 in the leaderboard will be relegated, because exactly as you said, are 2 different tournaments. Actually all clubs of Premier League were relegated in some point of the history. The only exception is Brentford that in this season are playing the Premier League for the first time in the club's history.. Another great video, really nice to see you undestanding more and more about the game.

There are 20 teams in the Premier League, the top 6 teams are Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and and Tottenham Hotspur, so basically 17 teams survive at the end of the season
8:57 KGB is the Russian version of the CIA during the Soviet Union (now Russia). What the narrator is referring to is that the owner of Chelsea (Roman Abramovich) allegedly has ties with Putin, the Russian President and former KGB agent.
The thing is, to qualify for the Champions League you have to have finished in the top 4 spots of your league the year prior. That means that you have to be extremely good to beat everybody and win the Champions League against clubs like Real Madrid or Bayern Munich but lose consistently throughout 38 games against Burnley, Norwich or Watford, which is basically impossible. Also, because Champions League games and Premier League games are played out throughout the whole of the season, there can't be the narrative of "losing someone for the playoffs". If a key player is injured, it is for both PL and CL games
There are 92 teams in the English Football League. It's easier and probably leads you to a happier life to to pick a top 6 team but if you want to spend a bunch of your heart for the possibility of the highest of highs, support a team in the 2nd or 3rd Division. Nothing feels quite as good as a promotion season.
I am a Liverpool fan.. you need to watch some videos of the team. I would recommend watching: Liverpool vs AC Milan 2005, Liverpool vs Dortmund 2016, Liverpool vs Barcelona 2019. these are just naming a few.
I like how he said the Europa League isn’t important, but also to add to that. If you win the Europa League you’ll also qualify for the champions league the next season as well. The top four teams from leagues in Germany (Bundesliga), Spain (La Liga), England (Premier league), Italy (Serie A), Ukraine, Russia, The Netherlands, & Belgium. Compete in the champions league. Some other countries in Europe have different qualifications where they can’t qualify for the champions league, which is why there’s the Europa League like in Scotland if you win the league you’ll qualify for the Europa League. And in the other leagues that I named if you finish 5th or 6th depending on the leagues qualification you’ll be in the Europa League. The Europa League is also the same tournament as the champions league and it goes the same way. Except the winner of the Europa League will automatically qualify for the champions league. No matter what place that specific team finishes in the league even if they get relegated (which is highly unlikely). So for the person that was explaining the video to say that is very disrespectful to other countries that physically don’t have a chance to qualify for the champions league because that’s the only outlet the other teams have to qualify in the tournament (The Champions League). To answer another question that you might have; what if a team that wins the Europa League finishes top 4 in their league? Then that means regardless they’ll still qualify for the champions league. That specific year they just won’t have a fifth team from any specific league that will qualify. You might not see this comment because you posted the video a month ago, but hopefully you will see it because you’ll definitely have a better understanding of the Europa League and how to qualify for the champions league through the Europa League.
Good Reaction Guys :) There is a $240,000,000 difference between The Premier League and The Championship. each season. NEWCASTLE UNITED are now richer than the next TEN WORLDWIDE Sports Teams COMBINED after 50 years without a trophy but a fanatical fan base. Three years earlier b4 Leicester won The League they were in the THIRD tier then THe Second Tier and the next season, which was the one b4 they won the league @5,000/1 Odds they were "certainties" to get relegated as they were LAST for most of the season and you would have to risk $100 just to won ONE DOLLAR if you thought they would go down and after 2/29 Wins they won 7/9 and stayed up but lost their Manager b4 the next season, as well :)
The reason why even though the league has 20 teams the same 6 usually stay on top is that there are no such thing like a draft in football. Each team has to buy or form their players in their academy, so obviously if ur richer you are pretty sure of getting the best player and win which makes you earn a lot of money which allows you to buy good players again and again. But some teams like Ajax are well known for their academy and their development of players which allows them some years to go really far in the champions league for example without spending to much money(it’s the case this year).
Very unlikely for a Champions league team to be in a relegation battle. As the guy said, only the best 4 teams in the country get into the Champions league so it’s really unlikely that they would’ve sunk that far within a season. It’s probably happened before but it’s very unlikely. But, if it did happen, they’d still be champions of Europe and it would go down in history as one of the strangest things that’s ever happened in the history of football.
Cup are like the playoffs, You have Euro cup (Champions league, Europa league) and domestic or national cups, in England you have the FA Cup and League Cup and these are knock out rounds like playoffs. It's possible to win one of these AND get relegated in the same season, although I dont think this has happened in England, maybe somewhere else? Spain Italy ? but I don't actually know (each country has National Leagues AND cup competitions) Its also possible for a team in "The Championship" to win the Cups (league below the Prem, so the 2nd division, the League you play in if you get relegated from the Prem) . Its even possible to win the Champions league and finish outside the qualification places for the following year The cup finals, both National and European are at the end of the season, but the knock out rounds run through the main season
Even team that wins champions league that season can be rellegated to lower division. Yes :D they are independent on each other (in this sense - they are connected just through qualifying to champions league, not vice versa)

Yes, the premier league is litterally the best and the most competitive. World class teams like manchester city, manchester united, tottenham hotspurrs, west ham,... Relegations are a thing, and to get in (an actual good team) you just have to be extremely good, effective and prove it with numbers!

An interesting team you could choose to pick would be Newcastle. Who haven’t won anything for decades but a couple of months ago became the richest club in the entire world. So they will soon start buying much better players and it would be a cool time to get on board now. I don’t even support them, but if I was American and didn’t have a team then the story would probably appeal
There is a cup called the F.A cup. Its like the play offs but for every team in England. All the leagues no matter that level. So a team called Wigan athletic beat Manchester City in the final. But were also relegated that same season from the Premier league.
I've never actually thought of the relegation question. U will still get relegated to the championship (2nd division) but u will still participate in the following seasons uefa champions league.
Olympique de Marseille won the Champions League in 1993 but were relegated that same season because they got caught match fixing in the French League. So that has happened before but not in the way you would expect.
Ah! Yes Premier League is #1 as far as money and last 2-3 years one of the strongest. Fir 10 -12 years was the Spanish La Liga the #1 with best players like Messi and Ronaldo. But I like to watch it a lot, if Madrid is not playing . 😂
So to make it more clear. Your favourite teams (Barcelona and Madrid) were in La Liga (Spanish league). Where stereotypically focused on effective, efficient and accurate plays. That's why they had tiki taka as their trademark especially in 2008-2012 when Spanish national team made a dynasty, the time when most national team will shits in their pants when they faced them. But for the premier League, it had speed and power plays stereotypes and it was called kick and rush. The plays that depends on physicality of the players. But then this style was so old school and inefficient for modern football. And that also the reasons why the top 3 teams coaches (Guardiola for city, Klopp for Liverpool and Tuchel for Chelsea) were foreigners that had progressive visions with efficient and effective tactics. But it doesn't mean they totally rid the physical plays because the other teams, especially the mediocre teams still playing physical plays, so they had to combine and improve their players physicality, technique, and philosophy to accommodate the situations in premier League. So if you want to get entertain by high pace and efficient plays, I suggest you to pick one of those three ( Manchester City, Liverpool or Chelsea)

Amazing story...Apart from that 9-0...We don't need to look into that too much...

English Premier league the most watched sports league in the world. Regular season games (not a final of anything) between Liverpool and Man Utd can get a billion global viewers. To put that in perspective the biggest game in American sport, the super bowl, has a record of only 120m global viewers
It's always cute when Americans think the superbowl is some big thing, haha.

A-League all the way
In fact all the top European football leagues work the same way:
the teams at the bottom of the ranking are relegated,
the first wins the championship
the teams at the top of the ranking qualify for European competitions (Champions league, europa league).

Honestly as a Milan fan I watch the italian league, but premier league is definitively the biggest league in Europe.

Glad to hear your healthy and back to the grind man, shout out to you guys 💯🤟🏾

Your question on being threatened with relegation in the Prem and winning the CL at the same time is a good one. Although that scenario is very unlikely. Firstly these 2 tournaments run simultaneously. So to be brilliant in the one and shit in the other is REALLY unlikely. Remember, in the CL you are playing the top clubs in European Football.
The European Pound 😅🤣😂 Great video tho! :)
To answer the tournament question:
There's also the FA Cup which all English teams compete in - a few years ago Wigan were in last position of the EPL, going to be relegated and they were playing in the final to win entry into the European leagues. So it can be completely crazy in that regard, where they would end up being in the second division of English Football, playing the best teams in Europe, the following season.
Appreciate the comment
not maybe one of the greatest underdog stories in sports history. Its THE GREATEST underdog story in all of sporting history

The premier league has 20 teams in it. And the teams play each other twice (home and away). Which adds to each team playing 38 games.
If you win the champions league then you'll automatically qualify for the next champions league even if you don't finish in the top in your own league
Can we all agree this sports is football
The thing is, to qualify for the Champions League you have to have finished in the top 4 spots of your league the year prior. That means that you have to be extremely good to beat everybody and win the Champions League against clubs like Real Madrid or Bayern Munich but lose consistently throughout 38 games against Burnley, Norwich or Watford, which is basically impossible.
Also, because Champions League games and Premier League games are played out throughout the whole of the season, there can't be the narrative of "losing someone for the playoffs". If a key player is injured, it is for both PL and CL games

I think playing football(soccer) is also important so I'd suggest getting a good ball, going to a field and playing together.
I’m an American that’s been a fan of Chelsea since 2010! Check out some Drogba highlights. Chelsea legend.

Spain Italy ? but I don't actually know (each country has National Leagues AND cup competitions)
Its also possible for a team in "The Championship" to win the Cups (league below the Prem, so the 2nd division, the League you play in if you get relegated from the Prem) .
Its even possible to win the Champions league and finish outside the qualification places for the following year
The cup finals, both National and European are at the end of the season, but the knock out rounds run through the main season
Even team that wins champions league that season can be rellegated to lower division. Yes :D they are independent on each other (in this sense - they are connected just through qualifying to champions league, not vice versa)

Ah! Yes Premier League is #1 as far as money and last 2-3 years one of the strongest. Fir 10 -12 years was the Spanish
La Liga the #1 with best players like Messi and Ronaldo. But I like to watch it a lot, if Madrid is not playing . 😂
Even when Messi and Ronaldo were in Spain the EPL was still the most competitive. Who cares about La Liga now lol
4:53 Premier league is indeed the most amazing league in the world. Am from Africa and we worship IT like were from England.
Premier league the best serie man has ever created.🔥
Love this comment 👏🏻. Someone who is not trying to promote their own countries league but actually wants to be honest! Bravo.
Thanks,My Friend.
So many great stars in the Premier League that came from Africa too, much love!
A lot of Africans are Chelsea fans cause they bought hella African players and legends like Drogba and Essien. Also in England Chelsea aren’t considered a posh club at all, in fact the opposite is true, they’re considered a chav club. As for being a nothing club then getting money that’s an exaggeration, sure Chelsea wasn’t the most successful club before the money but they finished top 4 the year before being bought, and had already gotten European trophies and a league trophy in the cabinet
Chelsea were more successful prior to being bought, than Tottenham are now
Leicester is one of the richest clubs in the league, not as rich as Chelsea or City or Utd, but they’re one of the richest teams so while it was still impressive they won the league at all breaking the hegemony of the same 4 teams winning it for 20 years, it’s not as much as they came from nothing spent nothing and won with nothing
Guy in the white tshirt was right about the relegation. If you go down in the premier league and magically win the champions league you'll still go down out of the premier league. They're seperate leagues ran by different groups
Liverpool fan here ❤ good luck on picking a team‼
You gotta be in the top 4 to play champions league, relegated teams are at the bottom
Yeah the Premier League is the NBA of soccer because most of the best athletes in soccer are in the Premier League, so the players are bigger stronger and faster than the other league and makes the league more competitive and more actioned packed.
english team can win most trophies from all the countries around the world you can win: champions league / europa league, league, fa cup, carabao cup, european supercup, community shield, fifa clubs world cup. this is like the most confusing thing for newcomers. you can win a lot of trophies during one season.
Y'all need to react to arsenal fan channel that shii funny and the guy u seen was troopz mainly speaks in a Jamaican accent but y'all love it
if you like tiki taka you will love arsenal under their former coach 'Arsene Wenger' because tiki taka was his trademark sort of football
The EPL is usally the most competitive top to bottom and even into div 2. And most physical.
Prem easily the most entertaining and highest level league every game is difficult so many strong teams and even the small teams cannot be underestimated also this league has most of the biggest names In football which is what makes it so difficult to win
You need to do yourself a favor and watch some of those old Arsenal fan tv clips. THEY ARE GOLD!!!!
