    Constructive feeds back. I tried listening to this whilst having a run but can’t hear the IET gent in the back right without being deafened by other voices and my phone on max. Please consider micing individually and mixing or compressing the audio post production to flatten the levels. Thanks for the great videos.

    BATHROOM FAN ISOLATION different electricians interpret the regs differently. Somoetimes its huge disruption to instal isolation outside bathroom. Also the isolator itelf over time can be unreliable. In the past shower isolation was interpreted by some as satisfied by the main board fuse. Can the shower be marked isolate at board, and a standard rcd or rcbo be used and comply.

    The ring final circuit and the issues with it are possibly the most talk about final circuit and can cause significant disruption with fault finding on it and seemingly then OK to down rate the protective when broken without establishing why it is broken.

    May I touch on touch voltages. Bs7571 50v max. Why is it deemed ok for section 722 EVs that it's then ok to have a ceiling of 70v .

    • @efixx
      @efixx  Год назад

      Great question. 50V is viewed as the maximum voltage a human can tolerate from hand to hand, 70V is used in section 722 because a shock from the bodywork of an EV is more likely to pass through someone from hand to foot, the tolerance of a human to that is slightly higher at 70V. 👍

    If a lighting circuit is completely inaccessable ... do regs permit a 5 amp single switch fuse spur and single mains outlet replacing double mains outlet to drive led ceiling lights and fan about 100watts total
    If a 13 amp fuse spur and single mains socket replaces a double point in a ring is there a work around to supply low power devices 5 metres away.. This doesnt comply regs due distance.

    ADDING MULTIPLE OUTLETS Now that many VERY LOW POWER devices are driven instead of 2kw electric fires, what is the work around to add multiple (say 2 doubles) to an existing double outlet on a ring. At present regs only allow one double to be added. . Using a modern double with inttergrated usb isnt good as makes inspections more expensive.

    Why has it taken so long to ban the use of AC type RCD devices given that most countries have banned their use for years if not decades.
    This has lead to a false sense of security and probably some avoidable deaths.

    • @electrician247
      @electrician247 Год назад +4

      Let's not exaggerate. The much maligned type AC RCD has saved countless lives and electrical fires. Of that I have no doubt.
      If you have an example of a blinded type AC rcd that resulted in injury or death please share the report.
      Our wiring systems are among the safest in the world. Keep it in context.

    • @electrician247
      @electrician247 Год назад +3

      @cfgman efixx have covered RCDs better than most.
      You said the delay resulted in deaths. I take it by the reply you don't have the data to back that up.
      Unfortunately other creators have caused much confusion around RCDs and the reliability of them. Its a tactic some use to elevate themselves above others.
      Our timing on these things is about right for me. As we move towards EV, PV installs etc.
      We need to remember millions of homes are still without any RCD protection at all. Imagine 🤯

    the sockets in bathrooms discussion is a joke, its either safe or not, the regs just guess instead of using common sense. putting sockets in a safe location is far better than forcing people , and many do, of running in an extension lead.
