Concert in St Mary’s Redcliffe, Bristol, 30 July 1969:
(Text: Collect for Sunday after Ascension Day. For more on the composer, see www.orlandogibb...)
O God, the King of glory, which hast exalted thy only son Jesus Christ with great triumph unto thy kingdom in heaven; we beseech thee, leave us not comfortless, but send to us thine Holy Ghost, to comfort us, and exalt us unto the same place whither our Saviour Christ is gone before; who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Ghost, now and evermore. Amen.

Sorry I missed this one first time round I've just listened to the Choral Evensong of July 26, 1965, featuring a piece by a Mr Varley Roberts see comments on that clip (!!) I needed THIS one thank you I feel better already I LOVE Gibbons' music!!
Oh that final cadence I'm not on this planet at this precise moment....
Gibbons knew how to write a good cadence!
