My knowledge of the Territorial Support Group (TSG) of the police of the Metropolis of London is limited. However, from this documentary, I can tell that they certainly appear professional, undoubtedly cool in the face of adversity and, quite frankly, a great bunch of guys and gals! Best wishes, and keep up the good work.

Mate, it's not like the police officers all meet up and decide which side they want to take in a protest. The guys who do decide are sat in fancy offices. If you want to have a go at somebody, try the right person at least.

Robert Gay Different era pal. Most coppers who patrolled the picket lines in Yorkshire, aren’t in their forces anymore as they long since retired on final salary gold-plated pensions-so you bringing up what a bunch of past-it, arsehole dinosaurs with outdated views, etc said & did 34 years ago, is irrelevant, for today’s officers. Believe it or not, there were coppers up there in Yorkshire who hated having to police it-but like the forces-you get an order, you do it. There were blokes in the forces who needed extra cash for their families. Others were usually single blokes who were jack the lad types, usually from Essex & London areas. The police is a mixed-bag, even back then, it was.

First thing the officer says "Its good money" and that pretty much sums up our police force. No desire to serve and protect, but rather receive a decent pay check. Morals of these lot are highly questionable in my eyes if that is the reason they chose this career..

Good pay is what most of decent hard working people strive for so they can have a medium quality of life. Its not a bad thing to have. He is simply stating its good pay for a hard and challenging job. Otherwise no one would risk their lives doing it and you would have your anarchist society you dream of.
