Watching you go up the stairs, I was surprised you did not start upstairs as you would not have to wash your paint brush each time as you are going from lighter to darker color….and also not worried about touching what you had already painted. I also agree with keeping the top of the steps in black.

Not only was red a great choice for those lower cabinets. You pick the perfect shade of red and oh my gosh your backsplash tiles are incredible and no money can buy what you put into those making them with love for them. They are absolutely priceless.

I was thinking of the black was a better choice for stairs when you said white. When I was growing up their was 4 of us kids. Our stairs were a dark brown. It worked for years. Looking good.🌺👍🏼
Nice look!! Good idea. A little bit of caulking on the ones with a crack before your second coat will eliminate the black look of the crack!! Your parents certainly love all you have done, without a doubt!! ❤

I had to come back and watch a second time to see uf my eyes saw what I thought they saw! I did see it! At the 2:21 mark, lying on the day bed, is a beautiful throw pillow! Did Mom make it? It looks so good as an accent with the triangle back splash. I can't wait to see more of her quilts!

We had a similar problem when painting a house where the previous owner used toothpaste to fill holes. The paint would not adhere and we had to end up drilling it all out and filling with the proper (pink) product. It was all good in the end. 😂
It is so fun to see you do the makeover at your mum and dads! The black on the stairs is quite intense I feel it could be also really pretty and bit more soft if it was a dark blue! Maybe the shade of the darkest triangle in the kitchen backsplash, it would tie both spaces together too🤔
Hi Elysia you could use the sample board as decor if you put a frame around on top of the wood. Everything is looking amazing. You are and have a fantastic team. ❤

Just a thought/idea... Have you considered painting the spindles with the same ombre colours? I think it would open up the staircase and look beautiful now that you're keeping the steps black. Love love love this series, it's so very wonderful and full of love ❤❤❤❤ 😊😊😊
