When I watch your videos and you're so aggressively ham fisted with the figures I think about how many you used to break and how few get broken today and I honestly think you've been a huge component in making the companies ensure that they're stronger 🤣
People complain that he's top heavy handed, nah it's just enough if Bobby can slap it around you know it can take a tumble off your shelf. You know the company did right when he's forcing the pegs in, he's going "God Bless it" but it still doesn't snap.
That’s probably because you didn’t push it past its stable point like Bobby did with the FT. I have both and the FT is much more stable, my Zeta will fall straight over with just 1 arm out in front of him.
You forgot to mention the biggest minus in this product!!!! The price!!! I can buy 2.5 of Zeta's Superitron with this money. Its not worth it if you want it as a combiner... Zeta's metallic version looks better and has voice effects!
Not really a minus when the FT ones are significantly better in bot mode, that already justifies the price difference. But if you want the CHEAPEST Superion then sure Zeta works well.

Between having ok looking bot modes or having slightly above ok looking bot modes for 2.5x the price, I'll take the cheaper option. Shout out to Bobby for being honest enough to point out the posting limitations of combiners must of the time. Maybe applying grip pads to the bottom of the feet would help, but might combiners are a struggle to get more than an "A" stance out of them. With that said, the set looks good. And thanks again for sharing.
No one would be stupid enough to try and spread the legs apart like that without supporting the upper half for a figure that big. User error, not the figures fault.

The only way to do it to prevent this from happening would be to tie it with a fishing line to the ceiling or the shelf above (assuming it's not on the top). The legs weren't that much apart and besides the figure was stable so a lot of people WILL assume it will hold the pose without any issues. Bobby wasn't spreading the legs further apart to show that the figure can't do it, he was simulating what can happen with time due to the weight of the upper body., even if the figure seems to be stable once you pose it on your shelf. You can disagree all you want but without ratchets strong enough to support the weight there could be plenty of nosedives, so I hope all those who plan to display FT Aerialbots in combined mode are paying attention.
Thanks for sharing Bobby! I think his feet don’t use the ‘grip’ strip they used for ft-20 terminus giganticus. I reckon a bit more grip in the feet, and a less slippery surface would have helped get a wider stance.

Been waiting for this one. Edit: That final reveal was... painful to watch. I said over on the tfw2005 forums that the leg ratchets werent up to the job. Thanks for proving me right.
PS it should be standard practice for "anti slip" rubber on the bottom of the combiner feet (like MT Computron). Or a small rubber mat to use (like TW Devvy). Glass detolfs and gloss shelves dont always agree with smooth slidy feet
I started collecting TF bout only 11 years ago. I've always liked TF but totally out of the scene for most of my college life, so had n idea what was what. I still remember walking by one of the local toy stores and saw Quake Wave on display. I was like , what? That's what a TF looks like now ? Went down the rabbit hole for a good few years, but I quite a few years back. Honestly what made me stop was a factor of things , one of them was cost as things kept rising, my range got smaller.. First it was all TF (3rd party and official) then just 3rd party then just fanstoys (though after stopping TF i went into warhammer.. which wasn't cheaper lol). What drove the nail into the coffin for me though being someone with a lack of patience, was waiting for the two combiners I was very excited about to complete. Waited and waited, with no announcements and my interest waned , slowly and I let go of my FansToys figures (combiners were last to go). I am honestly still stoked to see how their Menasor turn out and is excited as well for those whom still have it. The superion though, the shoulder ratchet really throws me off. For me, it breaks the sculpt and no hate please, but for me whom always like to pose my bots a certain way that shoulder joint would frustrate the hell out of me. Can't wait to see your review of ther Menasor though. Living vicariously through your reviews.
It’s interesting to the left or right of your filming area. There’s completely random stuff, like a bag of clothes and some New Year’s decorations. It’s fun to see stuff like that.
I understand that making it parts form supposedly makes it sturdier but to me it takes away from the main robot (the torso) even being there. It just gets transformed into a square and put into a hollow body. I would rather the main robot just transform into the main body like it's supposed to be meant for. Don't get me wrong.They look good and all but I've always had an issue with this. To me it just defeats the purpose of having five robots that combine into one and one of those you don't see but maybe just the back of it and no one displays the robot (that I'm not aware of) backwards. I don't know if anyone feels the same or it's just me? Just my opinion though.
That exact reason is why I switched to MMC Combiners, they aren't as tall but I've gotten over Partsforming. It's like your just plugging bots into a skeleton.

Glad you didn't mention price, i think we all get it, if you want a great team of aerialbots and a great looking superion go fanstoys. If you just want a great looking superion but not fussed about the bots go zeta.
This is one I have to vehemently disagree about a point: I think his torso is actually a bit too short and the legs a bit long and skinny. I think the torsos are the exact same size between FT and the Zeta. The hip skirts being bigger on the Zeta might give an illusion that it's got a bigger torso.
I'm keeping my Zeta as Superion - decided that years ago as i completed the set. It just works and looks very good. FT bots are soooooo much better than the Zeta ones, so an easy choice. FT Superion looks good too, although those shoulders do not look right at all in certain poses. You can't really go wrong with either set for a Superion.
I'm making my comment right as Bobby finished transforming Slingshot. Man, I am not comfortable seeing the heads used as the combiner attachment points. Not with how heavy the bots are.
It's OK, I was expecting a bit more for the time it took to be released but it's OK. I'm also using these as individual display pieces. Thanks for the review Mr. Skullface.
6:03 Are you able swap the faces out rather than the entirety of the head I like the battle mask with the red visor but I’m not fond of the round head it’s like staring at my thumb if I were to draw Superions head on my my thumb and paint some toothpicks gold and glue them to the sides it would closely resemble it
Been waiting for this review, firstly hope the 'full-monty' didn't scratch up the paint. My bots will never see the combiner mode sadly, the risk of paint scratching is too high when I've also got Zeta already on the shelf. It's still a great set but subjectively you're buying them for the individual bots, when you're talking about the combiner you do have to consider the cost and Fanstoys being 3 times the cost, just isn't worth it as comparison. Bring on the Stunticons!!
The ankle rocker limitation is really quite bad. It's probably partly why he went full splits mode in auto-pilot. :( I also find how easily the legs gave way a bit concerning. That with the rocker is possibly a problem waiting to happen. No butterfly joint sucks, but what can you do. Regarding the rocker, there are 2 white panels, 1 for each ankle. They seem to be blocking better rocker range. Can they be flipped up or out of the way at all? Hope nothing broke Bobby! I'd hate to see you NOT get to 69 before going back to 0. :(
I guess you could say that this review was a real "Highway To The Danger zone" also, in regards to the VS against the ZETA Version, please don't rush it, take your time. I will completely understand if it takes a while..
I do not like this one at all. It reminds me a lot of the G1 superion toy in ways that cheapen it for me. The arms look tiny to me, while Zeta's offering just looks way more yolked. FT Superion needs to hit the gym.
"can't handle his toy" and "near my stuff with his sausage fingers" are CRAZY... like AYO! his action figure handling abilities might be the least of what you got on your mind, not gon' lie!

@jaws848 It's around $1200 with the partsforming pieces. I have this set, and I personally feel it is a MASSIVE waste of money if you only intend on displaying the combiner, as the individual bots and alt jets are so good individually. If you just want a superion the Zeta set could be picked up for around $400 total...
BSF made this look slightly harder than it actually is. It's recommended that you remove the thighs from the body for ease of access. Paik4life/TFReviews show this quite well.
I say you can give yourself 6 points for that one. 5 bots but then a have a combiner. Putting together the combiner for another point. 6. You could go as far and give yourself 11 points for point each bot in combiner mode… But give yourself 6 points!
The legs do not look right. Way too long, knees in the wrong place, feet too big. Your hips to to your heels is not supposed to be double the length of your torso

Definitely clear Zeta is meant for Superion mode and FT are for Bot mode.

This is one I have to vehemently disagree about a point: I think his torso is actually a bit too short and the legs a bit long and skinny. I think the torsos are the exact same size between FT and the Zeta. The hip skirts being bigger on the Zeta might give an illusion that it's got a bigger torso.

I'm keeping my Zeta as Superion - decided that years ago as i completed the set. It just works and looks very good. FT bots are soooooo much better than the Zeta ones, so an easy choice. FT Superion looks good too, although those shoulders do not look right at all in certain poses. You can't really go wrong with either set for a Superion.
I'm making my comment right as Bobby finished transforming Slingshot. Man, I am not comfortable seeing the heads used as the combiner attachment points. Not with how heavy the bots are.

6:03 Are you able swap the faces out rather than the entirety of the head I like the battle mask with the red visor but I’m not fond of the round head it’s like staring at my thumb if I were to draw Superions head on my my thumb and paint some toothpicks gold and glue them to the sides it would closely resemble it
Been waiting for this review, firstly hope the 'full-monty' didn't scratch up the paint.
My bots will never see the combiner mode sadly, the risk of paint scratching is too high when I've also got Zeta already on the shelf. It's still a great set but subjectively you're buying them for the individual bots, when you're talking about the combiner you do have to consider the cost and Fanstoys being 3 times the cost, just isn't worth it as comparison. Bring on the Stunticons!!

The ankle rocker limitation is really quite bad. It's probably partly why he went full splits mode in auto-pilot. :( I also find how easily the legs gave way a bit concerning. That with the rocker is possibly a problem waiting to happen. No butterfly joint sucks, but what can you do.
Regarding the rocker, there are 2 white panels, 1 for each ankle. They seem to be blocking better rocker range. Can they be flipped up or out of the way at all?

I do not like this one at all. It reminds me a lot of the G1 superion toy in ways that cheapen it for me. The arms look tiny to me, while Zeta's offering just looks way more yolked. FT Superion needs to hit the gym.

I have this set, and I personally feel it is a MASSIVE waste of money if you only intend on displaying the combiner, as the individual bots and alt jets are so good individually.
If you just want a superion the Zeta set could be picked up for around $400 total...

BSF made this look slightly harder than it actually is. It's recommended that you remove the thighs from the body for ease of access. Paik4life/TFReviews show this quite well.

The legs do not look right. Way too long, knees in the wrong place, feet too big. Your hips to to your heels is not supposed to be double the length of your torso
