In the past demonstrations the focus was on problems in America like the Vietnam War and the Civil Rights struggle for black Americans who were disenfranchised because of race. The exception was South Africa; that again was disenfranchisement of a race of people. This is a war that began with the terrorist massacre on 10/7/23 by Hamas. They are embedded in Gaza among the population. The responsibility for the loss of life is in the hands of the terrorists. Palestinian statehood is an entirely different issue that was going to be addressed by Saudi Arabia and has the support of a large number of Israelis. But, here’s the kicker, Iran decided that wasn’t in their best interests. Iran and Saudi Arabia are enemies. So Iran pulled the trigger-they supply Hamas with military weapons-in order to derail that. They hurt Israelis and they’re hurting Palestinians. They could care less. The goal is the destruction of Israel, hence the chant From the river to the sea. Wake up and see who the bloody hands really are in this horrific conflict.
I guarantee most of these fools couldn't find Gaza on a map.

They’re actually the most important part of the conversation right now. Palestinians have been crying for freedom and equal rights for decades, no one heard. To put it bluntly, our voices never mattered in the past, but the west’s voices are heard, and the anger and frustration for whats happening spreads like wildfire. This happened near the end of SA Apartheid, it’s more powerful than you think.
They've already made a big impact - less than 2 weeks ago polling showed that only 10% of Republicans believed there could be G-word happening in Israel, now it's up to 23%.
Dude, they are showing support that os HIGHLY appreciated. And they are not just virtue signaling. They are prpeared for the authoritarian backlash that many times follow. Many such students are aware they become "black-listed" from employment in future fortune 500 companies.

I would advise the protesting students not to tarnish themselves by engaging in unlawful actions such as occupying or damaging school buildings, even if their reasons initially seem just and aligned with history. By resorting to such actions, they risk staining their cause and becoming destroyers of justice and truth, rather than earning everyone's support. Students should not assume that their innocence and lack of guilt as students will always guarantee forgiveness from adults, allowing them to act recklessly without consequences.
