I have a 63" sleeper and I have a fridge. It was an optional extra from factory but its a nice fridge, about the size of those lil colman ones you can get at the truckstops.
yes the PETERBILT fridges are small all the new trucks have them in them, you cannot go to lowes/homedepot and get a fridge that will fit in that little hole. you can buy one online that will fit in the there that are made for THAT hole but there $300
Best part of that pete is the CAT under the hood. Only necessity I see missing is the food and the cooler/fridge, must be making the big bucks to eat at truck stops all the time :D
Them c15s are powerful as hell we use em on some things here in the army one thing that can be better is acess to the drain plugs on the oil pan pop one off boom oil everywhere
Rand McNally GPS TND700, its the best money ive ever spent, i've driven over 200,000 miles with it and its never let me down. Only bad thing is its a little pricy
@379BullHauler I hate to tell ya but they are 386's. They are haveing to get ride of the 2008 and 2009 389's Before the 2006 and 2007 379's because the CAT Regen motors are nothing but problems for them. As far as i know all the new trucks will be 386's. I hope they get more 389s but i donno.
is it beater to have the 10 or 13sp trans or no for the 9sp that u have i have a 13 sp on my FREIGHTLINER CASCADIA it has the dd13 so yeah just asking i am asking if u like the 9sp on that truck.?
Does the company provide you a truck for OTR? and if so i assume they allow you to decorate the inside to your liking? Also did you buy that truck yourself? if so how much does a rig like that go for? Sorry for the questions but im doing research so ik what im getting into your replies are appreciated
matter of fact they do have a short hood version of the 389 its a 388 the company I work for just got 250 of them I really wanted the 389 but they are only buying the 388 and 1500 of the new 579 petes
What the truck? they no longer make the 379 the last year was this truck in 2007, they now make a 389 which is basicly the same exact truck just with differant headlights (a little more round), the hood is 7' long which is longer the the 379EXHD and they dont offer a short hood option like they did for the 379, and the dash is differant. But the price for a brand new 389 Peterbilt is $140,000 U.S Dollars
@KENWORTH8470 I hate the 9 spd, but then again i hate 10 spds too. There is a reason for a 13 and 18 spds, too bad Truck drivers dont spec trucks for trucking companies.
Is there anyway I could e mail you about LoneStar? I'd like your opinion on something's. I have resubmitted my app and am moving along with it. Just really would like your thoughts. Thank you!
@379BullHauler I think they ain't gonna switch back, its all about the economy, the 386's and T-660's use 5 to 10 °/o less fuel so with a big fleet that's better for them turnovers!! exept above, I'm completly argee with your story!! Are you driving a Pete 379?? would you send me some pictures?? (I would accept that) Kalieboe (Cas)
@Rickway65 The Straps where inside of the rub rail. The end with the clip is Wrapped around the rub rail then cliped so it cant come off if it gets loose. And they changed the law about "staying inside the rub rail" a long time ago, so DOT officers can Kiss my ass lol (can you tell i dont like the DOT?). And thanks I hope i do too!
@acehigh62 thanks, yep no fridge. But they are replaceing all of our trucks with brand new ones and they all have APU's and Fridges.
I have a 63" sleeper and I have a fridge. It was an optional extra from factory but its a nice fridge, about the size of those lil colman ones you can get at the truckstops.

@Travelin3406 Its not that much smaller its a 63" midroof instead of a 70" condo, but i love it.

Them c15s are powerful as hell we use em on some things here in the army one thing that can be better is acess to the drain plugs on the oil pan pop one off boom oil everywhere

As a Canadian I'm proud of your flag bud!
no not in this pete, it only has a 63" sleeper no room for a fridge. All of Lonestars NEW Peterbilts and KW's have Fridges in them though
it depends where you live, they asked me to stay out 4 weeks at a time, then 4 days off, I would do 5 and 5 though
@kalieboe I dont know that i ever will here, they are very big on saftey here....so i havent decided if i want to risk a driving video
That was a very nice tour of the truck, thanks…… Take care
is it beater to have the 10 or 13sp trans or no for the 9sp that u have i have a 13 sp on my FREIGHTLINER CASCADIA it has the dd13 so yeah just asking i am asking if u like the 9sp on that truck.?

@AmericanTrucker4Life Are you able to sleep with the AC/Heat on or will that drain your battery?
Does the company provide you a truck for OTR? and if so i assume they allow you to decorate the inside to your liking?
