My theory after watching it multiple times is that the two boys on the bicycles in the beginning represent Joon & his friends before BTS. Then he goes into the tunnel and gets immersed in the madness that was BTS. I think the boy who climbed with Joon through the tunnel or pipe below the madness, through the madness, represented BTS members. Then the train is out of control and it finally crashes. The BTS members, represented by the boy, grabs Namon by the hand and takes him over the fence to safety. He can return to his old life, but at the end it looks like he’s made his decision to return to BTS And the chaos.
I think it is a story about how your friends can save you in the end and carry you through chaos and madness.
Once again Namjoon delivered. I am so proud of him so much. This song has grown on me. This MV is absolutely incredible and amazing.
The key character is young Namjoon....with his signature bicycle. He and friend start at sunset...dark ...looming. RM raps abt "mufackers" pushing and shoving in different directions....and they are all suited up ...adults in authority pushing him the kid. His friends grab him away, takes him thru the tunnel as a protection from the chaos, thru the crowd, thru the train crash and over the fence.....with lil syms rap signifying his friends saying hands off...thats my homie....
They finally push him over the fence and he has the chance to walk off into what is now sunrise.....but he turns back....
Him turning back could signify a new strength and confidence...to face the chaos. I cannot help but see RM being protected by his bangtan bros and others....and they all got out long enough to find themselves in their individual solo projects but they also decided to renew their contract for another 7 years which means returning the choas of being BTS .....but it was a collective decision and he does it willingly with his homies......
Its obvious that Namjoon has many friends ever willing to protect him....but this song is about those that when thru the tunnel with him....and i cannot think of anyone closer to that description than bangtan members.
I feel that RM wanted to pay hormage to these homies....give them a voice (lil symts) without being all sentimental abt how powerful that relationship is....to bring him from looming dusk thru chaos to sunrise.
I love this song...BTS are full of surprises 🔥🔥🔥🔥

It could be that the kid there is Namjoon and he is being dragged around the pressure of the "adult life". all the responsibilities and expectations are given to him to act and speak like a mature person, when deep inside he is just a kid with a normal life. He stated this in his MINIMONI vid recently. That he kept switching from being one person to the other. that is why at the end even if he goes back to being a kid again he still ran back to the other life.
