I own a 2004 Saab 9-5 Estate with a 2.2 TDI diesel engine , black just like that one ( 120 BHP ) and , i think it is a excellent car. It may not be fast pulling away at the lights, but once it reach 40 mph and above , it just keeps going at speed very fast ! Very comfy and easy to drive .
Actually...the 3.0 was a single turbo that ran off of one bank...Still a great engine, but i always wondered wha it would feel like if it were fitted with another turbo...(ats v )
Before I bought my first 9-5, I talk to a Saab engineer when the 3.0L was still available. He recommended the 2.3L liter Turbo - Saab durability tests it engines 200,000 miles while Opel only 100,000 miles. That engine was short lived.
@@stevewilliams1834 mine had 280k+ before it kicked the bucket, and it died because a coolant hose burst while my sister was driving it, and cooked the engine. I’ve had 2.3 and the 3.0. I think the 3.0 9-5 was silly fast, just wish it had a manual trans.
The 2.3L had a manual option - both of mine were manual. The last version of that engine, 260 HP, was faster than a Porsche 9-11 turbo from 40 -70 mph. The 2.3 real clout in 2nd and 3rd gear. Getting 280K out of an Opel engine is an anomaly - that's why they engine was short lived as an Option. we had numerous, Saab Engineers, didn't want that engine in their vehicle, issues when that vehicle was released
Hi! Why do write "Saab 95" in the heading for a completely different Saab model? I believe you mean Saab 9-5. I came here because I thought you had a video about Saab 95, which you obviously don't.
@@dutchbachelor I'm sorry you feel "cranky". Not sure what that has to do with the obviously relevant point of mixing up two completely different Saab models. This video as nothing to do with Saab 95.
The 9-5 & 9000 are absolutely gorgeous vehicles. They have always held a special place in my heart, and always will!!
I wonder why Hammond didn't join the Top Gear Saab tribute a few years ago. He really liked them...

Great review I can't say anything other than that!
to be a both vegan and saab driver, you can not believe what a great combination is it, carrying fresh vegetables with 9-3, so poetic and disciplinar.
Love Saab

The problem with that engine is its sluggish

There’s a Saab 95t at this auction I’m going to lol it’ll probably sell for less than $1000
Hamster finishing on a child's swing ... bet he regrets this

you should have looked at the thumbnail then, which clearly shows the 9-5

@@syntaxerror8955 You just proved my point. It's a typo, nothing more nothing less. Relax. Errors will happen as long as humans are around.
I own a Saab 9-5 2.3T from 1999 😅
