I also believe in prime lenses for image quality even though I have never worked professionally, they just look great. The 50mm is great and what I learn on. I have noticed that that my 90mm primes have made some great portraits and landscapes and even environmental portraits. The 40 mm is also good for some landscapes/portraits. I guess you need a few different focal lengths. I also have done some hiking with a camera bag just like in your video. Hiking is a fun recreation too. You should make some more hiking videos like this one.
Scott- thanks for this informative video. I wonder which camera this video is shot with? Colors looks pleasing. I earlier liked Canon color science which I even like today. But looking at Lumix S5 colors, I find it's somewhat feeling distinctively better. Although, I don't see lot of professional adoption on Lumix line full frame cameras. Please guide anything you can.
like your review on the Panasonic lens 50mm f1.8 just bought one to starting doing wedding videos I'm also thinking of getting Panasonic 24-105 what is your view on this lens From the West Midlands uk
I think mate for the budget shooters the , 50mm f1.8 and the 24-105mm f4 would make the perfect pair , 24-105mm is the perfect lens for run and gun shooting and for low light, indoor shots and portraits , the 50mm f1.8 will get you covered.
Thanks for your review.! I got my 50 mm recently and love it! For photography. As videographer I would not recommend it. It's just always a risk if there is enough space to use it properly.
love 50mm, but now consider to try 35mm, because I will definitely get Lumix 100/2.8 macro as my portrait lens plus tele lens and macro insect lens. So if a 35mm works for me, it will be great to travel with 2 lens set up. As for now I have Sigma 28-70 and Helios 58/2, love the Helios, very characteristic and interesting ( not specifically for the bokeh effect), sometimes make the modern lens looks a bit boring.
I just bought an S5 (mk 1). Should still be alright in 2024, right? And a Lumix 50mm 1.8 -- nice review! Completely agree that probably because it's like the human eye, more often than not a 50mm is all you need and -- when using a viewfinder, really helps one connect with the subject like no other lens can
On second thought, after u showed us all of the magic gear u have stashed in your camera bag, you'd better lug all of it with u since u are in the home of CASTLES. Robin Hood, Knights of the Round Table & all the rest. After all, u might need to defend yourself against the Black Knights. And then again, u might have to storm a Castle & every bit of that gear will come in handy if u want to rescue the princess from the tower! Forget One Lens! Go for the complete Backpack Castle Stormer Camera Bag! 😎😎
Thanks for the review I just bought this for £200 used off of Park Cameras and ordered the Lumix S5iix from Amazon because they had it on offer for £1,600 body only, so you have something in common with "The Doctor" jelly beans 😁
I've fixed my lens kit for the S5II at 24 and 50 1.8 plus a Sigma 28-70 zoom.
Thinking about the 28-70 too but i want the ibis and macro of the 24-105. Plus a short vintage tele lens for portraits.
Not Sigma 85mm f/1.4? It's on my S5II 95% of times and the image quality is stellar.
Hi! I was just wondering if it's normal that this lens makes a scratchy sort of noise when you turn the camera on?

Wat. It's a great video lens, barely any breathing. I shoot video at 600mm sometimes.
Great review!
Can this lens be used/mounted on a Lumix g80/85?

I think you’ll miss the Lumix software updates

I’ll take the 35mm, in my case the Sigma 35mm F1.4 Art, I can always go APS-C Mode to get the 50mm look
hI i want to get lumix 35mm but confused whether to opt for sigma 35mm 1.4 or lumix 35mm1.8? Which one is better
Lumix apsc mode isn't great, and sigma art lenses have a lot of breathing. Not a fan of the manual focus either for video.

Great video mate! You kinda remind me of James, of whom I’m a huge fan. I came for a review of the nifty fifty but might style for a while. 🙏🏻
Good tips
BOCKER!
🤣🤣 thanks for watching bro 🤩😎
