  • This is the step by step process process I made that helped me tame down my Emerald Tree Skinks and gain their trust! I've developed a great bond with my animals! If you are having any trouble taming down your tree skinks, I hope this helps you out! They are relatively easy to tame down but it just takes time!

    This is all very good info, although I found I basically didn't have to put any actual work into taming my skinks. They'd actively climb over my tongs to get into my hand, and just hang out on my shoulder.

      One of mine is a little demon though who isn't afraid of anything and he will just recklessly jump from my shoulder into the open air at random if he feels like it.

      Some of my skinks were just like that and some of the others, especially my newer one, required me to take small steps! It depends on the individual but emerald tree skinks are typically friendly!

    I noticed one of your skinks has a little shed stuck to its tail, Is that common? One of mine seems to always have some shed left on its tail while the other never does.

    • @jaexotics
      @jaexotics  2 года назад +1

      One of the smaller ones always has shedding issues and he was missing a portion of his finger when we bought him years back, I’m not entirely sure why he’s the only one it happens too but stuck shed can occur. I have different mosses and have a mister to keep the humidity up and to try and avoid shedding issues, but he always has had a problem unfortunately like yours 😕

    • @jaexotics
      @jaexotics  2 года назад +1

      It can be common to all of the skinks if the humidity is to low though!

    Have you introduced a new skink to your tank? I've got two and I just bought a third

    • @jaexotics
      @jaexotics  2 года назад +2

      I have, we introduced the 3 smaller ones to our full grown adult. We let them grow bigger and then we put them in to co-habitat with him. We just monitored them to make sure there was no hostility and he welcomed them with open arms. They usually do great in groups!

      I’m not sure what you mean by cut the floor but the males back feet heels are a yellow color and have more profound bulges and the tail base
