As a native of St .Petersburg but who lives out in Las Vegas, the realtors, always promote the Old NE section of town, Snell Isle, Shore (Flood) Acres and the like. My family homes was in high and dry Allendale, I think 45 feet in elevation and not any sort of flood zone. May not be all that fashionable, but the lots are large, a lot of mid century homes just itching to be totally remodeled or torn down and rebuilt to modern standards. My grandmother lived on Coffee Pot Bayou in Snell Isle and had water up to the patio during Agnes in 1972. Only a fool buys a water front home.
