I like the smile of Tom when he says "I have really enjoyed most of his [Paolo Mori] games as over to the career" Paolo Mori is the designer of Vasco da Gama.
One thing I'd say is that I think the board is kinda weird in terms of orientation. Like are you gonna sit shoulder to shoulder with your opponent? Or have the board between you and both of you tilt your head to look at it? Or it's just upside down for one player and not the other. I realize having a player look at a board upside down are common for a lot of games, but usually those games are multiplayer not 1 vs 1.
Looks interesting. Went to see if I can order it and it is about twice as expensive as I expected! Thought it would be around $20 cdn but it is $38! That's way too much for some cardboard chits!
Hey, I just wondered whether you guys have looked at GMT‘s „Labyrinth - War on Terror“ already. It has parallels to Twilight Struggle, so it’s probably pretty good...
From the highest of lows (of getting his game Vasco da Gama thrown off a roof by Tom for being a bad game in Tom's opinion) to the highest of highs of his game getting a DT Seal of Excellence, I hope this review is an encouragement to Paolo Mori!
It is hard for me to think of a better two player tug of war game than 13 Days. It is an older game, but you should check it out. It bothers me it has been overlooked so much. You should review and compare it to Watergate. I think you would like 13 Days better.
This looks like a game I would really enjoy! Now I just need to talk a friend into buying it, since my wife won't have anything to do with a war-themed game.
Tom about to lead a cavalry charge with that hat, hahahaha. Game looks good, but gosh it annoys me that they still have the German cross instead of the Japanese Rising Sun logo in the "Pacific" and "Asia" regions. Keeping it simple with the symbols, I know (since there's only one symbol for the Allies too), but it irks me.

Vasco da Gama is one of my personal favorite games. I know Tom dislikes it though =D
What a nice suprise game! Hope you got to play this with Dan before he left town.

So happy to hear a great review! Been looking forward to this one, and I love Paolo’s designs. Gonna have to grab this one.
What about this vs ceaser?
Any idea if there will be a restock soon or another printing?
Basically Dogs of War lite with a WW2 skin.
That's not a bad thing, DoW is amazing!
This looks amazing, gunna get as a quicker and 2 player version of Quartermaster General
Thanks again, Tom. This looks like a must buy for myself.
love this channel!
And it looks like it was printed in 1920.

That board looks pretty neat. Unfortunately the box does not do it much justice. :/
This looks awesome, I’m just curious about the replay value.
It has 2 sides now so prolly pretty high
Blitzkrieg or Bitoku?
Can this be bought anywhere?
Is this already buyable somewhere?
Amazon UK has it
I was lucky to scoop this up at PAX. It was one of the last copies they had. Looking forward to getting this to the table.

Grand, really neat looking game.

Tom and Jason reviewed 13 Days a couple of years ago. ruclips.net/video/cN0OrFJk9Pc/видео.html
I have played it. It's very good, but I like this (and Watergate) better.
I love reviews of games that aren’t available anywhere...☹️
It's in stock on the publisher's website www.theplasticsoldiercompany.co.uk/product/paolo-moris-blitzkrieg-board-game/
I first about it from Suzanne on the Dice Tower podcast. Its on my radar since.
Now to review the newer iteration - Caesar!

I really wish this was skinned as Dogs of War (yeah, I know. Different publishers etc). WWII is such a heavy downbeat theme for a short abstract game.
Man, this looks like a perfect Lunch Break Game.
What an ugly game!!! I still want to play it.
