I'm planting 2 Cold-Hardy Red Pomegranates this year. The Wonderful Pomegranate I had died of fungal infections and 15F winters. Appearently the Cold-Hardy Red has a much better resistance to Cold weather, Fungal and Fruit Rot. We shall see !!!

Happy planting! Mine almost always come up from the ground. This one is struggling this year.

Hopefully, it does well for you, Parfianka is supposed to be a very good-tasting variety. I picked up a few new varieties over winter including Parfianka, Wonderful, Acco and Mollar de Elche although I'm going to be keeping mine in containers for now. I probably will plant one or two of them in the ground eventually, I just need to find a spot for them.

Based on how quickly this one started to root bind, I'd invest in some BIG pots! I have one in a pot too. No fruit the past 2 years from it and it's a clone from a mother that's already fruited. I'll have to look into some of these other varieties you're mentioning and maybe graft onto what I already have. Good looking out!

@@eljardinperdido Yeah I think they do better in the ground. I'm quite limited on space, so I'm going to have to be selective about which I plant and where. Before I got these named varieties I just had a couple I grew from seed a few years ago, but they have been quite slow growing in the pots, I'm guessing they are root-bound now which has probably not helped.
