When I was in elementary, me and this other girl were they only ones that knew how to do it I was thinking about some random things when I remembered about 3 other kids could too
Every single stand is exactly the same in every. The corners are bent, the paint is worn from the feet, the top is rusted and or the stand is too loose or tight.
Sometimes I want to yeet my band director into the sun for explaining things to us like we're six and other times I want to give her my life savings for explaining things to us like we're six.
That was me last year and it was lonely being the only one in that group because that would mean that when the director calls on different sections to help them, you get put on the spot every single time
So our school has stage crew do this so we are stuck after some concerts picking up 80-200 stands and putting them in the racks after the concerts. That is always the most boring hour ever for me. We also have to haul the stands back into the right rooms because we take from choirs, band, and orchestra rooms.
The 6th graders this year didn’t put an effort to put away our nice, new stands, so my band director made them all use the bad stands that either gradually fall over time or squeak like the clarinets.
I remember it was the day after our Night Winter Concert, and we had just played in front of the school, we got to skip most of 1st period to clean up, and like- literally no one knew how tf to clean up the stands, even the advanced band kids and the 8th graders

I basically control the stand rack and my school, and for good reason. It’s annoying to me when someone puts in the stand backwards then I go and fix it... even if it’s the one on the very inside and i have to take a few stands off the end to fix it

Since I'm the only girl who made percussion when the boys get to class they always say I forgot my book or I dont know the counting and they always have to aske me for help.
I'm a middle school band kid and uh... yeah, I personally hate it when the jazz band is getting stands for honor roll and sets the stands on the rack improperly... it annoys me... A LOT...
