Kinda fiddly work but that's a nice weather-barrier for your mobile place ... lol 🤓 I'm glad to see those things will just pop out of the door... very helpful to see that you just need to lift that inner plug first...do you have use new ones to replace them? Good information...thank you sir
why is there a water barrier on the slider. There were none on the rear doors - does that mean the slider is more prone to water access? What would this mean for the thinsulate? Again, very informative, nice work.
I only did the driver's side rear door, but there was a water barrier on the passenger side rear door which I didn't video since I thought that would be overly repetitive. I think they only put the water barrier on doors with electrical wiring inside. The only wires in the driver's side rear door is the speaker wires. The other doors have window controls or other sensors inside. Thinsulate is "hydrophobic" which means it doesn't absorb water, so it should be fine.
It all depends on parts availability. Winter storms don't help either. We're running two shifts this week, but that can change week to week. Just look at the wait as an opportunity to do research and buy items that you know you will use. By the way, don't wait to buy items like fridges or toilets. The supply can be limited in the current economy. I've had my fridge and toilet for months because I didn't want to wait and then everything be backordered.
I could just stuff it with pink insulation I guess or rock wool like the rest of my van ( yes rock wool is heavy but oh well ) it is what it is, that thinsulate is a million bucks now in Canada
Thanks for posting a clean view of removal of the panels! It really helps plan and prepare for what I'm going to be tangling with.
Great videos!!! My van is ordered. I might post videos with my build.
I use a spray can of starting fluid to degrease areas that I paint or stick adhesive to; just don't smoke while doing it!

If you're careful, you can re-use the fasteners. I just use a small screwdriver to pop them out. Thanks for watching.
I might've missed it. How or where did you use the Gorilla glue spray?
Helpful video. Thanks.
I used the glue spray to adhere the Thinsulate to the Kilmat in a few places. A lot of the door area will hold the Thinsulate in position without it.

Hi Bob; your doing a great job! has there been any delays announced at the van plant? hope to get my transit by late May!

@@bobstransitvan3053 Thanks Bob; I have started ordering items and yes deliveries are spotty.
How much weight do you think you added with all the sound deadening?
Probably around 25 pounds. I am trying to keep the weight down, but a quieter van is well worth the weight.

do you have a power sliding door?
No.
I failed to insulate this before my counter install, oops
