I always loved Whitney Houston. I am surprised to hear that this beautiful, talented woman struggled with rejection from men, self worth, and self esteem issues. She was just like the rest of us. Looking for love in the wrong places. She wanted so much to be loved, and cared for and listened to. Her coping skill was drugs but....deep down Whitney was a precious soul and her life ended so tragically. I wished she had known her worth , and realized she deserved so much better than the ones who mistreated her. My heart breaks for her.
But the 1 true love for her, a real lover was cast out from the evil ways of christianity..
If only she was able to just LOVE the right way. Heavy drug use might have not been a thing.

A part of my soul still aches for Withney and her daughter whenever I listen to any commentary about her story. I never met her not even in concert. But I use to sing some of her songs for a living in Jamaica. So I feel like I connected with her in a spiritual way. I do take comfort in knowing that both her and her beautiful innocent daughter is in a better place.

Addiction is no joke. It's a symptom of a broken spirit. In Some cases, you can't ever put it back together. There have been times when I knew I was overdoing it and thinking: why not just let go and end the pain once and for all?

Yes I agree but in actuality she was only b one that truly had her back. She was in essence the gatekeeper of her heart and Whitney's family couldn't misuse and abuse her the way they wanted so they did all they could to remove her from Whitney's life. And as we saw in the same documentary that's when everything fell apart. Too many heads got involved, her brothers got full access to her , and drug use got out of control. The brother that she trusted the most introduced her to the hard drugs without any remorse. He was way too nonchalant can about it, in my opinion.

She made that perfectly clear, especially after Whitney's passing. So, it was never true. Aretha didn't even attend her funeral, because her ankles were swollen and she was touring at the time. Perhaps, her reason was valid or even the truth for that matter. One thing is certain, Hollywood is a rabbit hole of twists and turns. You must navigate the grey area with caution to discern the truth.
I don't get why men rejected her either, she had a beautiful face, perfect body, looked like she had a big heart too and that unforgettable voice. People never see when they have a good thing until it's to late.

I was so fortunate to be able to see Whitney in concert in 1986 when I was 16. It was her first concert tour right after her first album was released. I am 50 today and that night will be a night I will never forget.
