Remember, when you were in Sweden, you were *just* laying out, warming up in the hot beautiful sunshine? Right _before..._ you climbed into that chilly body of ocean water? Yeah, THAT is why it feels the same as Svalbard! We do this here too. Cold plunge in early July mornings, it slowly does feel any better once we get heated up by that sun.

I LOVE the curtains! I much rather have my curtains overlap rather than meet. By overlapping it blocks out that aggravating sliver of light that comes through when they just meet - you know the one that always manages to find your eye or shine right on the tv or computer screen? Yeah, that one.
Here in Canada we call those shades; whereas the ones you had before are Venetian blinds
Agree! The blinds😜 look great. There are some places that cut them back to size but this solution is serendipity.
Your blind solution is perfect, especially for when you have 24 hours of daylight and want darkness. Great job!
One must be flexible when dealing with IKEA. We bought six panels of the same length and they were all slightly different! We just hung them and said who cares they’re pretty!

I’m on the west coast of Scotland and after a strangely mild yet humid summer, we’re finally starting to see some signs of autumn approaching! The trees are slowly changing colour, the sun is setting before 9pm again and we’re getting quite a bit more rain. Also Pumpkin Spice Lattes are back, yay! 🎃☕️🍂

I was in Norway for the first time this summer. We made it up to Tromsø and the midnight sun was spectacular. It felt like we were entering a different, magical world. The landscape of northern Norway is so stunning. We hope to return and visit Svalbard someday!

Myself and my partner were on our first trip to Svalbard, and actually hiked to Bear valley (behind you guys) on the first day of sunset. I proposed to my partner whilst their also. We have both totally fallen in love with Svalbard and will probably revisit in April to catch some snow. Have to say we're both totally inspired by your channel, your musings on life in and around Svalbard are fascinating and lots of fun. Thanks so much :)

You are giving me happy flashbacks. Fairbanks, AK was below the Artic Circle, but pretty close. Talking about Polar Summer and the sunsets reminded me of something from my time there. I was in the Army at Fort Wainwright. In the summer you would look west and watch the sun drop down, run along the top of the horizon, then go up again if you stayed up all night. In the winter you could watch the sun come up late in the morning, run along the horizon, then drop back below in mid-afternoon. Loved it up there. Thank you for sharing your world. Even if it makes me long for such places knowing I will never get back there again.
