I remember my childhood seeing this, my Grandfather was the master light keeper on a Lighthouse on the east coast of Sweden (Örskär), who is a bigger island then this, so my summers up until i was 16 was spent helping my grandfather, exploring the island and just having fun with my sister and cousins.

Cecilia, I don’t often comment, but I just want to say that you are such a gifted storyteller - par excellence! Every single video is a gem. Like all of your subscribers, I find myself totally immersed in what you present and, thoroughly enjoy your adventures with you. I thank you for that.
Your film-making is magical, because you can achieve that level of sincere interest from, I am sure, all of us.
Actually, and I’m not exaggerating, one of four movies that remain in my mind for superb cinematography, which could draw me into the mood and atmosphere of the surrounding scenery, was David Watkin’s spectacular, Oscar-winning cinematography for Out of Africa. He drew us in and gave audiences a real feel of that amazing country and landscape.
You manage to do the same with your, Cristoffer’s and Grim’s lives and travels, in such a basically untouched area of our beautiful planet. You are able to capture the mood and “atmosphere” of your surroundings. So, I believe you’re in good company!
Thank you for sharing your marvelous talents with us. It is always truly appreciated. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 🎉 💕
    -------------
Ps. Just for trivia’s sake, the other 3 movies that remain in my mind for spectacular cinematography are:
    1) Freddie Young’s amazing work in Lawrence of Arabia, capturing spectacular desert scenes and up-close depictions of the characters and situations
    2) Freddie Young again for Ryan’s Daughter, another David Lean film, capturing rural, coastal Ireland. (I guess you can throw in Freddie Young again for a third David Lean film Dr. Zhivago)
    3) John Seele for his work in Witness, perfectly capturing Amish country and Amish life in Pennsylvania.
Make a movie one day, Cecilia. Or a full-length documentary. It would win awards! ❤

Your video has all three. Your telling of the history of the islands buildings shows you'd make a very good tour guide. I found it very enlightening. Imagine so many shipwrecks in times past ! I loved the buildings on the island... simple and wooden, but very pretty. Homely too, I'd say.

Wonderful place, love the solitude and the views! Shipwreck Island is a good name, many ships hit the cliffs in bad weather there before the lighthouse was built! They look like the old fisherman hats... and I wondered if it was just a design choice for the raingear.

Such a stunning video, hotel, island…everything is so beautiful. And that song is absolutely perfect for that island. Your channel is in my top 5 to watch. Thank you for sharing. And it was so nice to see Christopher laughing since he is usually so quiet.

I love when they repurpose lighthouses and keep the history alive for people to visit. And they make them into B&B stays and such. It’s so cool to see how these people lived. I couldn’t have done it. I give those families a LOT of credit. Because alone on that rock of an island or any island without large mountains would make nervous of severe storms and huge waves or rogue waves. So those lighthouse keepers back in the day were a special breed of people to be able to do it. I know some lighthouses they switched every couple days or a weekly that’s more tolerable to me. But living on the island. Just wow.

And such a tiny island! You could easily go stir crazy. I wonder if people did. I wonder if there are journals from that time. Though if there are, they likely would not have been translated to English. I would love to know in depth about these people and their lives. It's a charming little tourist stop now. But it must have been brutal then, especially in really bad weather. Can you imagine those people coming forward in time and seeing this video? It's wild how times change.

Don't let the rich and famous get a hold of this vacation spot... What fun! Looks like all the comforts of home with the most rugged off environments. ( It's literally a flat rock slap dap in the ocean). You surprised us with such an amazing place to visit .Kristopher looked so happy. ❤ Your channel

"Don't let the rich and famous get a hold of this vacation spot" Well they already know of it since a stay was one of the gifts in the goody bag awarded to the nominees at the 2021 Oscars . Place has also won some prestigious awards for the concept.

Wonderful video again Cecilia. Thanks for taking me places I will likely never get to. I do plan on visiting Sweden. My great grand parents came from Sweden to the US in 1881.
