Julia, the steak was cooked to perfection, the sauce sounds amazing as I'm a blue cheese lover and the buns! I'm in an apartment so I can't have a barbeque but I'm still going to try this. Yum yum yum 🤤
This sandwich looks delicious. I don't like bleu cheese however, I would add a little horseradish and a good melting cheese like provolone or Swiss to the sandwich
This is the recipe I’ve been waiting for thank you that sauce looks amazing. I would crumble a little bit of the blue cheese on top or add a slice of pepper jack cheese on top of the meat.
Skirt steak is sold in various cuts. In Florioda it's sold as inside, outside and flap and they are in fact all different. I was told years ago by a butcher to always purchase outside skirt which I do. Big difference in the toughness between inside and outside skirt steak IMo and I've used both.
I've been loving this series, Julia. This sandwich looks amazing. Can't wait to try it! If someone can't eat blue cheese, would feta be an acceptable substitute?
I have no idea what you're talking about when you said the ingredients in the sauce seem strange. I've only gotten that far in making this and the sauce is GORGEOUS. I was..a little more liberal with the blue cheese than 3oz, though ;)
To make the *BEST PHILLY STEAKS* you do *need to brown the meat,* but most steaks sandwich *shops in Philly steam their steak,* so most of the time the *best are made at home.*
What I really wanted to know is how Julie deals with the bit of mustard that always sticks in the tablespoon no matter how hard on the bowl you whack it.
I made this tonight and it was delicious. The only problem was that the sauce was very runny and the mayo broke. Not sure why this happened. How do you prevent the sauce from breaking?
I'd make it this sauce and then a horseradish sauce and try them both. See if you like blue cheese this way because I imagine you can still taste the blue cheese.
Julia! get rid of that grill brush. I had a bristle brush and one of the bristles got lodged in my throat I had to make a trip to the ER to have it taken out. I'm scarred for life.
Was it the same brand and did you also oil your grill? I know it's been mentioned that the cheap brushes are dangerous for the reason you stated. The oiling of the grill should help remove any wires from the grill. Sorry that happened to you. It's a fear of mine. I've heard about them getting lodged in the stomach and intestines as well.
@@60Airflyte I have no idea what brand it was. My husband threw it out after we got back from The hospital lol. I’m not sure if the grill was oiled. And now I’m just scared of the grill 😳
@@familyocean there’s a fireman who came up with his own design for this reason. Look up safe grill brush and get one of those. I don’t blame you for being afraid but it would be nice if you could enjoy grilling again.
If you want a little kick but dont like blue cheese try replacing it with a teaspoon of horseradish. Its not overwhelming and gives it just a tiny bite.
Lucky people that can have wheat, dairy! I like beef n horseradish. Not too fuzzy on sauces on meat. But this looks so yummy. I remember plain beef dips , beef piled mile high.
@@sandrah7512 If she was any good, she would be on Food Network as well as ATK. Compare Julia to the Barefoot Contessa and you will know what I am trying to say. ATK is a third rate channel because they hire third rate presenters.
I second the comment on the grill brush. It doesn't matter the quality; there are easy grill cleaning alternatives that don't have the risk of causing hospital stays and intestinal/esophageal injuries, unlike broken-off bristles on brushes.
I'm not blind and I oil my grill thoroughly after brushing. Perhaps stick to your Betty Crocker easy bake oven. Don't burn yourself on the light bulb... You can't use an LED in those
See Julia, This is what makes you a Master. Your Love your vigor and all the Heart you put into your cooking.
Julia - you’re such an excellent teacher!
Looks delicious! I bet a horseradish sauce would be good too. 😋
I was thinking a bit of horseradish would be great in that sauce
Beautiful piece of ASH
You’re such a natural home chef, reminds me of my dad when he should to cook for us. Pls don’t ever stop cooking. 🥘
Love it! You make it look so easy. Thank you, Julia.

That sauce rocks. Thanks for the grilling tips, I have been uncertain about lid open vs lid closed, you cleared that up for me😸
😮 I don't like blue cheese but this sounds great. Anything for more steak.
U R incredibly "zippie young informative" & interesting to learn from. thankU 4 that

I’m starting to think blue cheese goes with everything- I’ve had bc butter, bc caramel, bc with cheddar, bc burger, burger!!! Omg and now balsamic 🤩🤯
Before she mentioned arugula I was thinking to myself, “Totally need to top it with arugula.” 😂 looks so tasty!!

Steak, scrambled egg, cheese, onion, and a little salsa on that ciabatta. That's the best ever steak sammich

Outstanding picture quality!
Thank you for the recipe Julia! This looks amazing!!!!!!
I would have to add Worcestershire to the sauce. I wonder how it would be with smoked blue cheese? Great recipe!
The bottled Hellman’ mayo tastes better than what is in the squeeze bottle. Yes they are different.
😊 thank you Julia!
Talk about a BEAUTIFUL piece of ash!!!

Adore skirt steak, adding blue cheese sounds sublime. Luckily I have blue cheese at home, going out for skirt steak and rolls. Thank you for this.

These are so good!! ❤
Mmmmmmm……. Gonna try that tonight!

That is an awesome grill
Where did you get that specific mini food processor?
Love Julia!!!! But Chile I’d require a bit more seasoning lol
Love that board - plz sell m 😊

love that color of blue on ur mini food processor - looks like possibly a cobalt blue but looks r deceiving on yt 😊
Great recipe Julia! However I’m not a mustard fan and will replace it with prepared horseradish. (Not horseradish sauce)
This looks phenomenal, but I don't like blue cheese. Is the taste very prevalent?
I'd make it this sauce and then a horseradish sauce and try them both. See if you like blue cheese this way because I imagine you can still taste the blue cheese.

Julia says “beautiful piece of ash” and I’m instantly 12 years old, snickering like beavis and/or butthead 😂
I’ll see myself out…
Actually looks really good, Probablity I will make it in the next 10 years: 0%

Kind of like a fish bone. 😮

Your husband certainly knows how to pick a beautiful piece of ash. 😂
But where does she shop? Asking for a friend 🤫
For those with lactose issues, what do you suggest instead of the blue cheese?
What grade of Balsamic?
I prefer one that's at least in high school

I wonder if I would like the sauce. Blue cheese tastes like the way ants smell to me.
You lost me at bleu cheese. I just can’t handle the taste of it. Everything else sounds wonderful!

I would cook it a little more. Some pieces still looks raw.
That's not mayonnaise that's hellman's
Too bad there 's no such thing as a good low carb ciabatta roll. have to avoid bread to control blood sugar levels. Julia is the best, by the way.
What happened to the cute lady?
Sadly so many people dont like blue cheeSe. Dont you have a recipe with something else?
Use Feta. Remember, a recipe is simply a guide. Do it how every you like. The only person stopping you is you.
Umm, use the cheese you like.
Look up a horseradish sauce. Just use your imagination and Google.

It's comments like these that make me sad that we're not supposed to use the word retarded anymore
Onions cut too thick
I know you be lying girl. We want Donald Trump!
No no no way too much freaking mayo
So, you put in the amount of mayo you like.
That steak is too raw for me.
Why not start cooking healthy😮
In what way is this not healthy?
Go ahead.
