The plugin was actually developed by the renowned Reimund Dratwa, the mastermind behind Fuse Audio Labs and Neold plugins. He is highly respected in the field of plugin modeling.
Brainworx is louder. It feels louder, it feels it has more low end and also it's clipping a little bit. You can see the difference in level in the master channel dB meter on bottom left corner. It goes all the way up to the red when BX is on
the issue with gain matching goes deeper than looking at the faders because the compressor applies an indiscriminate amount of make-up gain. you'd really have to match the LUFS to compare fairly. and 2 dB would be a huge difference in such a comparison, but ayo... the bx does sound good, doesn't it
I prefer the brainworx, however, many top mixers have mixed using the older waves g and E channel. Maserati mixed many beyonce songs w the OG Waves E channel... Its not the tools but the person behind the tools. Thanks for the shootout.
Not positive I'm kind of between both. But the Brainworks plugin shouldn't have so much volume boost when you turn it on. I have both versions and mine doesn't do that. I also notice the low shelf on brain works is activated you don't have the shelf button pushed down so it defaults to the bell curve. The button needs to be pushed in on the Waves for the low-end bell curve so technically you are outputting less bass from the waves. Mine has much more bass when I hit the Bell Curve. Remember volume doesn't equal better tone... I'd like to hear both at an even level then compare the tone. I have several different brands of the same ssl plugin. You have to turn up the mic level on the Waves to bring in harmonic distortion to actually benefit from the analog sound anyways. To me bringing up that mic level sounds way better than not using it at all.
SSL native entered the room and both Waves and BX left 😂 This brainwork is lauder though. Less compression I guess. You would have to level match with analyzer.
I don't think you got it mate... Why are you matching the settings and gain inside the plugins themselves? Those are clearly different! The curves and values are different. The gain is clearly different. Can't you hear it?
I just watched the first one it was fine I got it .. the Brainworx one works for me .. not sure I’m into the VGain pseudo analog noise doesn’t really work for me I want the shape of analog with the clarity of digital it’s a thirds dimension hybrid where sound evolves with AI opening a door to an elusive fourth dimensions of impossible and other worldly noise .. Brainworx and EV2 have a place but they’re not SSL .. of course SSL make some good plugins .. but they’re not actually an SSL console either .. a real SSL console has a surgical feel to it you can shape sound in extraordinary ways .. I haven’t heard any plug-ins that match the clarity and precision of an SSL G series but what we have now sure is better than a Fostex X-15 :-)
Neither one specifies that your musical art is your property in there privacy policy. Studio one DAW does. So why not? As usual policy is too vague. Plugin alliance for example... Number 15 in there policy....Consent by providing information is understandable and clear. What is not good or clear is the "consent to all actions taken by PLUGIN ALLIANCE by use of software." It is not specified if those actions include or exclude a users music created could be examined, copied, randomly uploaded or automatically uploaded to PLUGIN ALLIANCE, or to PLUGIN ALLIANCE data testing, sampling, etc. This policy is not accepted by skeptics like me. ☹ Many users don't read or care about policies or assume they have rights they might not have. Maybe I am to skeptical, but without legal recourse companies in general don't have to care. A company might care. But don't have to. Is there a law specifically against an A.I. partial sampler of thousands of users musical art??? Nope.
Let try to help everyone out. The brainworx version is not an accurate representation of the ssl. It has its frequency bands shifted lower than the hardware version. Waves accurately recreates this. If you shift the bands to the same positions the waves handles the audio better than brainworx. Also, if you a/b a full mix you notice the waves version preserves the original audio better and is less destructive than brainworx.

Brainworks gives the the drums more thump too me 💪🏾💯🙏🏾
I agree

I might be wrong, but he has the Gate on with the EV2 but expander on the Brainworx.

BX definitely working with the low end more

You buy plugins to help the sound. Whatever sound you're going for will determine which plugin you buy.

Oh men, you need to set the gain of the both plugs to same perceiving level to make a good comparison...
Can you do a Paid vs Torrent?
Ha ha ha 😆 its not privacy, but alternative solution cit. R2R
Hey man do you think I can use the Brainworx on the master channel?
The thing I’m noticing is the EV2 is hitting the compressor harder than the Brainworks. The EV2 is naturally squashing the input signal more.
Good observation!
I watched a video on how EV2 and CLA Mixhub are literally the same plugin. EV2 is horrible on cpu that’s a big plus for Brainworx imo
Bro, your beard looks fresh af 🔥. I don’t know why i noticed that 😂
Ev2 has crispy high mid and high but not much change in the low end. Brainwork low end mids sound better
cool. thanks for the awesome job!
No problem!
IT DONT SOUND BETTER THAN THE EV2, sorry guys.. y’all need ya ears 👂 checked!! Great video !!! 🗣️🗣️🗣️ CREATORS VS EVERYBODY 🙏🏾🗣️🗣️

I can hear a difference in the low end with the Brainworx SSL.

Basically 🤣
Brainworx is better than even SSL own plugins in my opinion. You can’t beat the V gain feature and the THD and the multiple tracks on the console.
Great Follow up!
I have both… the Brainworx has a bigger sound.

EV2 sounds thinner and the Brainworx sounds wider and a little more lush....Sand4 Blows both of them away
