I bought one of the first Ibiza PD130 out of the showroom in Belgium in 2002. The head gasket was leaking from the beginning, but I always drove around with the Jokers smile on my face.
SEAT really nailed it back then, there were not really fun and 'fast' diesel cars until then. The 6K1 GT TDI was the first! Although VW had the Mk2 GTD already around 10 years before
I have to be honest the first race when the diesel pulls like that.... I was so surprised. Not because I doubted diesel power and I'm aware of the massive torque advantage the diesel has but he just KEPT PULLING!... HARD! fantastic.
Yeah, but look at the work done to the engine, pistons rods ported head, cams, turbo manifold and nitrous. The EP3 has a factory engine with a Turbo slapped onto it xD
@@joshjamesguitar it's got nothing to with that fact, the EP3 doesn't need those supporting mods as it already has VVTI, factory forged rotating mass and good head flow, those upgrades bring it up to par what I'm talking about is acceleration whoch is to do wirth having longer gears and way more torque to chew threw those gears, speed is engine speed x gear ratio, acceleration is torque / gear length, that's how the EP is lighter but the diesel out accelerates it, so many people forget the important of gearing and power bands that EP probably hits 500bhp right at the end of its curve where that diesel is hitting twice the torque at 2k, that's about as Layman as I can explain it I hope it makes sense and remember "power sells cars but torque wins races"....👍👌👍
@@EZ-D-FIANT k20a2 has cast pistons and rods, at an 11:1 compression ratio. Was never designed to be turbo so you can't complain about it having VVTI. And how are you gonna class a stock K20 as having upgrades? Up to par would be forged internals lower comp pistons, cams, and nitrous. But then it wouldn't be up to par, it'd be a 700+ engine easily. One of the reasons why the powerband is so short is because they're using a big turbo at low boost probably around 1.4bar limiting torque. Because the rods won't handle a huge torque surge and around 450nm is the limit on standard rods.

Fair played to the Seat but there is NOTHING that could make me happy to live with the sound that comes out of it. The K20 absolutely sings in comparison
For me this speaks volumes. Soon as I seen the video I knew the seat would break. I’m not a hater sick car. But the k20 will pull all day everyday. Reliability with performance is key in my opinion. K20 reliability is just unmatched 😎

Only issue we have now is, that civic can do that stock block, stock head, 5k and it’s ready. How much do the pd130’s take to get 500 out of them? Would love to know
@@RubenFFR for how many runs? You can street, daily a 450hp k20 or k24 for years (luck involved obviously) and not touch the gearbox. Clutch, turbo kit, tune, go.

The way the driver was leaning forward in the SEAT it was transferring his bodyweight to the front of the car, therefore he was getting better traction on the front wheels. It’s the same effect the engine on the rear of a Porsche benefits traction.
I mean he did say it was a track car not a straight liner. He mightve closed the gap ever so slightly at the top end if he unbolted the wing but ehh, more hassle than its worth for a bit of fun eh

@@Toxic2TOn the contrary it is the opposite with equivalent preparation the K20 always has a cold on the 1.9 tdi You have to compare what is comparable if you put the same preparation on the EP3 as that of the Ibiza you will obtain an EP3 much more efficient level horses and torque which will destroy the Ibiza without worries, this is a comparison where the Ibiza is at max 400 nm more with NOS where the EP3 has the minimum next to it and it's really hypocritical to say that when we realize that this match is not fair at all in terms of preparation of the 2 vehicles but hey the owners of tdi we know you well it shows up in stage 5 against stage 3 and it screams victory where a fair match is made constantly destroyed you are the kings of bad faith 😅

Stock engine Ep3 turbo vs everything you can do to a PD😂 3+ bar, nitrous and half of Portugals PD magic probably. It just shows how fast Hondas are for the price and tuning level.
That's nuts nos vs just fuel and still right on the heals .. that shows how much better the k is .. but the torque of that diesel is just insane no dought there ... personally I like both these builds, but I am a petrol head 😅 so I was naturally rooting for the Honda but the pd is stought no lie there ... peace and love all keep it rad stay safe and build on l8z famz and keep having fun

Here in the US we don’t do a whole lot with them, but I see them a lot with 300k+ miles, they’re super reliable and get amazing fuel economy

That's nuts nos vs just fuel and still right on the heals .. that shows how much better the k is .. but the torque of that diesel is just insane no dought there ... personally I like both these builds, but I am a petrol head 😅 so I was naturally rooting for the Honda but the pd is stought no lie there ... peace and love all keep it rad stay safe and build on l8z famz and keep having fun
