The Audi desperately needs a custom seq box and decent centre and rear limited slip diffs. Maybe try to talk Keith Edwards ( of Dialynx fame) to take on your civic in his sport quattro sprint car. Now that would be a race 👌.
He lost ground on 2nd gear from a dig, takes ages for him to get back on boost, if he had a more linear power curve he'd keep up even on a H pattern. The roll racing was just weird, it was either in the DC5s powerband advantage or the Audi.
Sequential definitely plays a part, but that launch is mostly down to the gps, traction control and boost by gear doing bits. It's all about the control. An amazing build and proud to say me and my guys built all of the syvecs hardware in that car 🙌
Most sequential gearboxes doesn't require to drop gas while shifting. For huge turbo this avoids turbo lag. Guys need to drop DSG in that Audi and Jamie will be left at start line :)
Imagine that Quatro with a sequential box, flat foot shifting and a bit less lag from 1st to 2nd! But man, that Teg! It sounds so brutal! Awesome race. 👏

For anyone who's driven any 01E, he drove that Quattro beautifully. The 1-2 shift in any 01E variety is, best case, violence personified. Both dream builds.
I have even a harder combination with 01E Diesel Quattrobox mated to 1.9 tdi... 1 gear basically non existent ... 😂 super hard to be fast on 1-2 shift... After that, it runs like crazy

This audi with a sequential would of eaten that integra. You can see how much the audi is dropping back because off the gesr shifts. There is nothing else holding the audi back
I really like our bro’s from Eastern side of Europe. No BS, no flex, just pure love for mechanical performance. The usual UK finance and downpipe club really can’t compete. Jamie and Monky seem to be the only channels bringing game from the UK.

Great race Jamie. The camera angles captured how intense it really was. And also your expression each time you pulled that sequential shifter was class 😂but that’s that adrenaline. The integra has proven to be a force to reckon with. I guess rolling anti-lag or brake boosting could help with the roll races in future.

They are both great cars. When the Audi is in its stride it's a serious unit.... however its very nice to see how well set up the Integra is. Awesome traction and spools very quick. Serious piece of kit.
This audi and the audris audi the biggest weak link is the gearbox doesn't matter how much power you have if half of the race is shifting and the turbo needs to spool again . I don't understand why not stroke the engines to 2.5. The guys in our country mostly are running 2.5l.

That coupe quattro is a really nice build. If he swapped out that manual box for a similar semi auto as in that Honda I think it'll make a huge difference and maybe help the turbo lag from 1-2 (imagining he's launching in 1st) if not end he's doing a 2nd gear launches, maybe 2nd to 3rd is a bit steep?. The CQ definitely deserves it's flowers though. What a build that Teg is. Respect.
A flat foot shifting sequential box in that audi and its gunna be near unstoppable. Only the gear changes making the difference in the rolls and a massive difference it made, take the gear change times out of the equation and that audi rinses that integra, which will take some going cuz that teggy is RAPID, what an astonishing build that honda is and the audi too. This is a great video to show the advantages of a dual clutch / sequential transmission.. everybody wants a "drivers car" with the h pattern but if you want to be faster technology takes the cake. Obviously power to weight ratio plays a big part too 17:30 you can literally see VTEC kick on that launch, love it awesome builds on both sides!!
I think Sequential and Manual should be in a different category. Sequential is pretty much automatic apart from the physical pull. It's pretty obvious the Audi was faster when in gear, but the manual gearbox let it down and if it was sequential would've beat the Honda pretty hard. Audi was pulling when in gear and diving its nose when shifting, whereas the Honda just kept going due to the sequential. If both were manual with similar skilled drivers, Quattro was winning 100%

Your 0-60 times are basically on par with the highest power output lancia delta s4s back in the height of the group b days. Followed this build since the start. Favourite teg on the planet 😎🔥
Love to see the full dyno for both through the rpm range, along with the gear/final drive ratios. A lot of the older engine tech produced massive power, but over a very small rpm range. Often a very low rpm range, that minimised the potential torque mutiplication. Gets popcorn to see what happens. 😁
The problem with the Audi is that the 01E gearbox has a STUPID long first gear. An 01E HES w/ a 3.875FD has a 1st gear ratio of 3.750 and a 2nd gear of 2.188, so at best that car has roughly a 4000 rpm rev drop between 1st and 2nd, completely taking it off boost.
Loved it..hats off too the audi driver..we can truely see how big a divrence the gearbox in a car makes..staying in boost nd times between shifting makes a huge impact..wellsone guyz❤ 💪
What a car !!!!! Question tho, its 4wd but only the fronts are connected to the hub dyno. Rear wheels arent turning. Do you disconnect/remove the prob shaft before it goes on the dyno?
The audi was struggling a bit with lag in 1st and 2nd gear. The dc5 able to stay in the power band more efficiently and the advantage of using a squential transmission gave jamie the upper hand in this one. Awesome race. Both beautiful cars.

As much as I love the channel, the only thing i disagree with is classing a sequential car as a manual. It’s so much quicker on gear change especially when full throttle shift is mapped in to. Congrats on the win it was an interesting watch 👍🏻

The problem with the Audi is that the 01E gearbox has a STUPID long first gear. An 01E HES w/ a 3.875FD has a 1st gear ratio of 3.750 and a 2nd gear of 2.188, so at best that car has roughly a 4000 rpm rev drop between 1st and 2nd, completely taking it off boost.

What a car !!!!! Question tho, its 4wd but only the fronts are connected to the hub dyno. Rear wheels arent turning. Do you disconnect/remove the prob shaft before it goes on the dyno?
The audi was struggling a bit with lag in 1st and 2nd gear. The dc5 able to stay in the power band more efficiently and the advantage of using a squential transmission gave jamie the upper hand in this one. Awesome race. Both beautiful cars.

Sequential gearbox gives a car a big advantage over a manual box. Audi needs a sequential ASAP.
As much as I love the channel, the only thing i disagree with is classing a sequential car as a manual. It’s so much quicker on gear change especially when full throttle shift is mapped in to.
