    • @globalhealthmedia
      @globalhealthmedia  2 года назад +2

      Hi Hopewell - the regular birth control pill (combined oral contraceptive) works when you're breastfeeding -- but it may reduce the volume of your milk; and within the first few weeks there is a small risk of blood clots. It's ok to take after 6 months -- and there are many other methods that are fine right away after birth - such as Implant, IUD, mini pill, and barrier methods.

    Thank you very much for detailed video. Very much appreciated.
    1. Can you guide me what is the maximum duration safe to use these pills. We plan it for 2 years. is it OK?
    2. I heard that using pills like these could make problems when we want to have kids later? So is there any swear side effect of it or damage or lower the chances of getting kid when we would like?
    I am very much anxious about post side effects. Please guide me.

      hi Muhammad. It would be best to discuss your concerns with the health care provider who prescribes the pills for your partner as it depends on an individuals health and risk factors. Yes -- you can. If you start to have sex more frequently, you may want to consider a more regular contraceptive method. Frequent use of emergency contraception can result in increased side-effects. Here is the WHO guidance: www.who.int/news-room/fact-sheets/detail/emergency-contraception

    • @globalhealthmedia
      @globalhealthmedia  Год назад +4

      It will be effective as long as you take one active hormonal pill each day for 21 days -- it doesn't matter if you follow the arrows on the back of the pack. Typically you will stop the pill for 7 days , then start a new pack.

      It's good to get into a habit of taking the pill at a particular time -- helps women remember. in general, taking it at more or less the same time is best, like in the morning, or at bed time. But doesn't have to be exact.

    • @globalhealthmedia
      @globalhealthmedia  Год назад

      It sounds like you started the inactive pills first.. there are no hormones in those pills -- so you won't have any side effects -- but they are not effective in preventing pregnancy. To correct it --Take a hormonal pill as soon as possible and use a backup method for the next 7 days. Keep taking pills as usual, one each day.

      See if this helps: A woman can start the contraceptive pill within 5 days after the start of her monthly bleeding, or - if she’s quite sure she’s not pregnant -- she can start taking the pill anytime - however for the first 7 days, she must avoid sex or use condoms. Pills will not prevent pregnancy until a woman has been taking the pill for 7 days.

    • @globalhealthmedia
      @globalhealthmedia  2 года назад +2

      During the last 7 days, when you are taking a 28 day pack, you will usually get your period. These last 7 pills in the pack are not active hormone pills -- but it is good to remove them day by day so you stay on track and start your next pack the day after you've finished all the pills. Does that seem clear?

      @@emmamkargbo1709 in the 28 day pack, it is not necessary to actually take the last 7 pills. they are "sugar pills" - meant to keep you on track so you start the next pack at the right time.

    I have talked this medicine, but my period is brown, what I my going to do

    • @globalhealthmedia
      @globalhealthmedia  Год назад +1

      When menstrual blood has contact with air, it oxidizes and becomes brown in color -- that typically happens when bleeding is lighter and slower, such as at the beginning or end of the period. The contraceptive pill usually makes women's periods much lighter -- so you may notice brown blood. This is normal and typical.

    If u Tek 2 days than u have sex what will happen

    • @globalhealthmedia
      @globalhealthmedia  2 года назад +4

      It depends -- the Pill should be effective in preventing pregnancy right away if you started it within 5 days after the start of your monthly bleeding, or if you directly switched from another method. But if you started it at any other time -- you should not have sex (or use protection, like condoms) for the first 7 days. If you are concerned, please talk to your health care provider.
