    Passing you a tip for denim. For the thick spots, take a hammer and pound it thinner. It seems to work. I cover with a cloth (the spot gets shiny) and make sure you pound on a tough surface so you don’t damage the surface. A great way to get your frustrations out.

    This is a very good video thank you for describing in detail with your voice most videos do not do that. If I want perfect stitches, I’m going to start to have to start hand-basting my arm sections because those are the ones that shift the most for me.

    How do you decide when to use your serger and when not to?

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  3 года назад +1

      The sewing machine will allow accuracy in corners and the join area of seams. So I go by feel and think what will work best. Simple straight seams are fine on the serger :)

    Hello quick question can you still top stitch when finishing the collar if you are dealing with 4 way stretch fabric?

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  Год назад +2

      Yes but you need to use a stretch stitch and not pull on the fabric. A walking foot helps too.

    • @Skzminaj

      @@LiftingPinsandNeedles thanks so much what length should i use ( and you are talking about the zigzag stitch that looks like a straight line right?

    Are you topstitching the linen tape on the inside of the jacket?

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  3 года назад

      I’m sewing the tape onto the edge of the zipper tape, this stitch is not seen from the outside of the garment. The stitch on the outer edge of the linen tape is the one sewn on the outside of the garment.

    You know it's funny that i have to order 30 inch zippers because locally the longest is usually 20, occasionally up to 22inches!!

      It’s the opposite for me. They sell the super long ones and I have to trim them :)
