I have the 250MM version (approximately 10") and I use it way more frequently than I thought I would. I've used it for obvious nut/bolt applications, but also for tightly holding things I don't want to mar, to flatten small pieces of metal, to flatten tweaked rings for jewelry clasps etc. A beautiful, very well-made tool that every tool guy should own.

maybe don't leave them unattended at a construction site. one site i worked at it was fair game to keep any unattended tool you find. and many people would even go into an unlocked toolbox and take what you want. and the only person to blame was the owner.
He's lifting it as it was made out of styrofoam, either this guy has thunder fists or the spanner really was just a composite replica made for the show. I'm surprised they didn't tried out a 24" adjustable wrench instead of the open spanner, as they could have clearly showed that even a massive 24" crescent only opens up to 2-7/16", which is less than my 10" cobra lol.
A spanner that large runs about $750-$1000. Our shop Bought one for hydraulic cylinder nuts and if I remember correctly it was something like $1100 for a 4.25” wrench.
@@galtigjtokay5318 not really damage, but itll eventually mar and cut the soft brass to the point of having to replace the fitting. Either get a spanner or a wrench or the pliers wrench. Make a habit of doing it correctly!
i own the 125 mm, its good for tasks that does not need alot of force, like rusty fasteners or overtightened. for certain situations is the best. i need a tool to grip on 24 mm hexagons so i ordered the 150 mm Cobra. very good tools, cant be compared with cheap tools.
+scrambler350 Absolutely. Well worth the cost, these things are the best hand tool I've ever used in terms of quality, versatility, and innovation. I bought the 7in pair from Menard's and loved em so much I ended up buying one of every other Knipex tool they sell at Menard's. I replaced all my Crescent wrenches, Channellocks, and even (i'm surprised to admit this) some Klein tools. They're a little pricey but so totally worth it.
mike_HVAC.. I got these and love them! I used a buddies crescent wrench the other day as I didn't have my tools and I spent forever dicking around getting the wrench to fit and then re adjust because the teeth are garbage and the jaws back up and round the work piece. These knipex pliers and the auto adjustable cobra pliers are the best tools I've used. They really are made well and have a slick adjustment to them unlike the cheap shit that binds up. Knipex for me everyday!

I use two of the 10" version in preference to open end spanners or adjustables. I have them hanging from the back door of my van as a go to tool to grab for repairs. Dont debate the price, treat yourself, they are brilliant.

I have a couple of these, as well as cutters, etc., and they’re quite good. But comparing it to a dedicated wrench isn’t really helpful. That wrench can apply a good deal more torque because of the handle length and rugged construction. So they aren’t quite interchangeable.

I like that the jaws are thin... sometimes you have to grip a narrow hex thats sandwiched between 2 bigger hex fittings & that big standard spanner often can't slot in because of its thickness.... 😎👍☘️🍺

I have had great news!! Today during my lunch I drove to Sears and to my luck I finally bought the 10in Pliers Wrench as well as the 12in Alligator pliers. I am extremely happy with both!!! I put them to use as soon as I got back to work. I can't believe how easy it is to break loose a bolt with the Plier's Wrench and then to rotate it it is faster than had I used a Regular open end Wrench. I don't have to grip hard on the Plier Wrench and still it hold the nut firm and tight, I love them both well worth the money! I have been talking about them to one of the seasoned Technicians at my job and he was skeptic about how they'd perform even after showing them the videos on RUclips. After today though he's a fan and was amazed on how good they perform. He plans on buying them as well. I bought the last one it stock but plan on stopping by next week hopefully they have more in stock because I love the quality and their performance, can't have just one of them. The pliers wrenches are great but it's weird that you for got that most people would use an adjustable spanner, was that because even a Bacho the same size is half the price? That said the mechanical advantage you get from the cam and the speed you are able to change I think a good sales team could make some good arguments for the plires wrench being a superior tool I this application.

The plier wrench is very good tool for not leaving any marks. But as a generally just-get-it-done type of tool, the cobra is much more useful. The thing is a beast... wait I guess the cobra is a... #dadjoke
Ok, now show the difference between one man working alone and having to hit the 1-piece spanner and the Knipex wrench with a sledge hammer to free a stuck nut (a very common situation).

Hi Knipex - I'm disappointed with my 250mm version of the same model. I can't understand why the thumb operated button head is so small. It makes use very ackward to fully depress the button to allow jaw adjustment. In particular, when wearing any protective gloves or when the pliers/wrench adjustment is made at a point below your body level. Making the button head the same size as the circular recess below would improve the design.

Agreed. I have a set myself (don't recall the size). The uses go beyond the intended purpose and the quality is top notch.
I use mine more than any other tool. I actually don’t use end wrenches very often anymore unless I just can’t use my wrench pliers.

Its actually only a 13mm spanner, it just looks big because Alex from knipex UK is a tiny little man.

Got a couple of the Cobra Pliers, Lineman's Pliers, and Cutters...the Pliers Wrench is next on my list.
100% Yes. I can't believe I ever used a Crescent wrench after using these. The large Cobras have also replaced my pipe wrenches.
Had mine for a little over a month now, love them - barely used my standard crescents anymore.

No, this model is meant to allow you to "ratchet" on a nut. They have other pliers that auto-lock on.

Did I hear him say "400mm wrench"??? Is that the length of a handle or the jaw opening? Very nice tool by the way.
+Oleg Khriswell 400mm is the length of the handle. 400mm or ~16". The maximum jaw opening is 85mm or ~3.3".
