As a lifelong Lakers fan… I can see this being a great year for the Lakers. I can see JJ being a good coach. He knows basketball inside and out not only as a NBA analyst but also as a high level player. JJ has spent many nights pointing out the flaws of a LeBron led Lakers team. I think he will bring a tough defensive mindset as well as a fun work environment. I can see LeBron extra motivated playing for his good friend JJ and with his kid Brony. I can see AD playing way more in the paint where he can dominate most opposing bigs as JJ has often criticized the Lakers for not doing more of. I also think D-Russ, AR and the other guys can offer enough to make the Lakers a championship caliber team if they can stay healthy. I can see the Lakers finishing as a third seed with Minnesota and Dallas being the top two seeds in the west.

I am a Laker fan and I can agree with Wilbon on the majority of what he said except the Cowboy bullshit. The Cowboy fans haven't seen a Superbowl win since 1996 and the Lakers have won 6 NBA Championships from 95/96 thru 2024. Compare Cowboys fans to Raider fans and leave us the hell out of it. That’s unrealistic. You have Dallas, Denver, OKC and MN. San Antonio might be trouble. New Orleans? That ain’t gonna be easy for them to get by. Adding a one and done that averaged 4ppg, in college and no real impact players isn’t getting them anywhere. Calling them strong contenders to win at all and having dreams of Bronny being a player that causes the team to contend, this year is the height of delusion. I’m a Laker fan and I can’t wait for them to start trying to win again.

Whats crazy that nobody talks about is how the western conference from the okc 1st seed to the lakers 7th seed only separated by 10 teams. Plus the lakers were missen their 2 best on ball defenders for the entire 2nd half of the season. Lakers got bad luck by meeting their nemesis in 1st round. But that won't happen this year.
