Can I do most of my drawing in regular graphite but in areas I want darker use the Lumograph Pencils over (on top of) graphite?

Its depends on you... Like which type of appearance you want... But i recommend you to buy only graphite one... That will be enough for pretty much dark values and for an awesome drawing
Can I mix them in one drawing?
Yeha of course... As per my experience... Try to draw dark tones nd hairs with steadler black ( since staedtler black is semi charcoal so blending is difficult as compare to graphite one.. So u can use graphite on smoother parts ( particularly those areas which need bleeding)
