Do you know the reason why this anime is such a hit and disappointment in the first place? It had the potential, but Whitefox messed it all up. This show used to be my favourite but the more show I watch I just realise how terrible this show is. The front 1-8 episodes are great. Fresh setting, concept, theme but later it turned out just another regular shounen show, just... crap. Watch the manga, it's totally different series with the same name, way more darker and serious than the show.
After finishing this season, I was so saddened and depressed. This show(NO SPOILER) will leave you emotionally hurt, and wanting more...pretty much you'll throw your hands up in the air and say, "That's it?" Then shortly after, you'll realize, that's really it...such a good story in this show. Character development for Tatsumi, becoming a man and stepping up to the plate when it mattered the most. I love that dude, Shelle too, and Leone. Such a good show. I could go on about this show for several paragraphs, but I'll just say, if you haven't watched this show, just watch it and don't read the comments until you finished the show. Be sure to have another show ready to watch once you finish this one so you won't be looking around to find another show to match this level of entertainment because you simply won't. If I were you, after you finish this show, if you enjoy the imperial times, watch "Code Geass"(pronounced gee-ahss) 2 seasons. Great story. Perfect pacing. You will not be disappointed.

I felt completely empty when I finished this. I just felt done, I can’t even exactly describe the feeling... but it was just pure sadness. I cried from start to end, especially the last few episodes, I cried for 3 hours straight. I couldn’t even sleep right away because it was still running through my mind. But it’s an amazing story, and I’m glad I watched it

I highly recommend this anime as an introduction to the edgy drama side of the medium, it's a really good place to learn about some of the classic tropes of this genre.
I've just finished it. I'm going to give it a 6/10, passing grade. But there's major issues with the plot, and when I say major I mean it. It's better than your average shounen, but still light years away from stuff like Code Geass or Death Note.
I just finished watching akame ga kill almost 10 minutes ago and the heartache is killing me.. If you're planning to watch it, trust me you're not going to regret but you need to be ready for the pain :c

I couldn't stop laughing when you said that leone's death was sad, like pretty much half of the deaths in Akame ga Kill, it was meaningless, for me and every person who read the manga, the anime of akame ga kill is thrash, not only because of the deaths that the studio invented, but because of the end of the story and the romance that was completely skipped, please read the manga if you want a good story, i respect your opinion anyway 😏
