Great video! First fish I caught on the clam predator was a nice walleye, the second fish was my PB Northern! 18 pounds! I love the design and the ability to switch the triggers is really nice! Keep up the great videos!
Thanks! I saw the photo. Awesome fish. Keep it up man!
That’s an awesome video explaining how to use the predator tip up!😊
Thanks Matt!
Hey Caleb. Can we get a short video with a closer view of how to set the rod up. So we can see how the hook setter works up close
I’ll see what I can do!
On sale now at Fleet Farm for $60!
That’s a good deal!
Buy me one haha
Great video Caleb!
Thanks!
I used the Predator in ND this last weekend. Really fun in auto mode. I had a 80% catch rate with 8 keeper perch on the ice. I’m going to get a 30” fiberglass heavy rod with a long rod handle. I couldn’t move reel when it was in the Predator base. It’s a little tricky to set depth of bait if you can’t use the reel . Most of my ice fishing rods have a short handle. A new rod will really help. It’s super fun and scared the shit out of me every time it went off!! I’m totally going to buy another Predator.
That’s awesome! I am working with Clam on developing some rods for the Predator for next season so stay tuned!
Great video! Just as a contribution, when I asked CLAM’S Customer Support, they mentioned that the ideal maximum rod length should be 36 inches.
That’s good to know. 36” will certainly work great but you can definitely go longer. I would know since I invented it and we designed it that way. 😂
@@calebwistad Oh, the consequences of skipping portions of a video. 😂

Sweet design
Thanks.
I have one ordered . Thanks for this video and for tge predator
Any good storage/carry ideas? Or is a 5 gallon bucket your go to? The build quality is impressive!
I’ve been using the Cabelas 8-rod soft carrier. It carries 2 predators and 2 rods pretty easily.
What mm vynl tubing should i get. I like thevway you strapped them to your boat lol
I believe it is 3/32 tubing. Not sure how that translates to mm. And thanks!
What rods do you recommend ?
For the auto hook setting mode, definitely a fiberglass, slow action rod between 32” and 36”.
That looks like it would be too friggy out in the cold down in the ice ??
What exactly do you mean by “friggy”?
Too many small pieces to frig with and set up in cold weather and floss the line through a thing in the front in the cold or with gloves on @@calebwistad
Nice video. Thanks for sharing….I'm now worried that your channel will simply be a commercial for Clam. If that’s the case then too bad, stay true.
No danger of that! Of course Clam sponsors me and I have a product with them now too so I’ll primarily be using Clam products, but that doesn’t me I’m going to be strictly promoting anything but fishing itself and the fun you can have doing it!
@@calebwistad Time will tell and only you can make those decisions. Just don't let money completely change why you started making your RUclips channel when you first started. I do enjoy your channel and want it to stay at least close to the same.
