    Great video! Thank you. I bought a 1981 GS 450 new and rode it for over 62,000 miles (100,000 km). It was still going strong when I sold it even though it had been redlined hundreds and hundreds of times. It was a glorious machine. Your video brings back so many memories. The sound of a vertical twin is so far superior to the commonplace whine of an inline four. I really cannot thank you enough.

    This was my first bike. Took me everywhere. I still ride but not as much as on that bike.

    Man I loved this bike...................mine was red, I put a Quicksilver fairing on it, eclipse tank bag, bagman hybrid saddle bags...........and I rode it all over the western USA in the 80's. Reliable (at least for me), easy to work on, and comfortable (the long flat seat was a real benefit on long trips). They just don't make them like this anymore!

    SUZUKI FOLK PLEASE. I got my GS450 from 1984, it is in fantastic shape and i wanna keep it. However. I want a little more hourse power out of it, not much, so a little. The top speed is fine, i don´t need to drive any faster anyways, but i would really like more acceleration from 50 to 80... What kind of stuff do i need to buy to get more power? Please anybode help.

    • @Playandride
      @Playandride  Год назад +1

      An inexpensive and simple way to accomplish this is to go down one tooth on the front sprocket. A little less top speed but better acceleration 🙂

      @@Playandride i thought about that, thanks

      I got a significant drivability and horsepower boost from mine by removing the stock airbox, putting on K&N filters, re-jetting the carbs, and putting on a Kerker free-flowing exhaust. If I had to do it over again, I’d leave the carburetor work for last. The other modifications may have been enough.

    Underbar hoj. Jag köpte en 1981 GS450 i fredags, impulsköp, jag ville ha nåt äldre och lättare. Dock har man satt på kortare bakfjädring på min, den är bara 28cm som längst, förra ägaren var ganska kort. Jag vill fråga dig hur långa är dina bakdämpare? Och är dom original för hojen? Tackar..

    • @Playandride
      @Playandride  4 года назад

      Vet ej om mina är original faktiskt, kan mäta dämparna när jag hämtar hem hojen (inom ett par veckor). Du kan även kika här www.thegsresources.com/ forumet är fullpackat med info, rekommenderas.

      @@uncletom1971 Fick du svar på din fråga från forumet? Om inte så mäter jag gärna mina dämpare då hojen står på gården.

      @@Playandride Hejsan! Ingen fara, jag köpte helt nya HAGON bakfjädrar som var för just denna hoj. Har dock sålt denna då jag började med enduro och lite motocross i sommras, så jag har köpt lite andra hojar. Samt var GS450 aningens för liten för mig överhuvudtaget, jag är ganska lång.
