I acquired original EMP 3 last year which was manufactured in 2007. Also a jam-o matic. Sent it to Springfield who did same work as yours. But I agree it was an ammo issue as they suggested. I switched to Winchester 124 NATO and no issues five hundred rounds later. I was not first owner, obviously. They did the work and paid for shipping. I love their customer service. This gun is a great shooter now. I also own a XDM Elite 3.8 and a basic Echelon.
@Steelcurtain75 i used the same ammo after I got it back from SA & it didn't malfunction. They didn't put in notes what ammo they used at the factory to test fire.
i was lucky that i ran 375 rounds through my original (new) 300 of 300 FMJ 115 all went through w/o 1 single hiccup, but 25 critical def 1 FTF w/ dirt after 200 fmj, then next secession 2 of 50 jhp winchester FTF fired by my friend, but 100/100 no problem w/ fmj. i will find another time to run another 100 dmj and field lube and another 50 jhp later. hope yours go flawlessly in the coming trip
I have a friend that has two of them. They've both been 100% reliable. I love those neat little guns.

For me, it is also important to keep feed ramp clean and lubed.
