This video was released around April 2023 as another break in Houseki no Kuni happened so this should be viewed in a similar context of Chapter 95 or 99 where many considered it an end to the manga (even though the next chapter ended up coming out in August later in the year).
After all this time I really hope Phos can somehow go into nothingness. They deserve their peace. But I honestly have no idea what direction is being taken, and considering how the series has gone so far I'm not so sure we'll get a happy ending.. one can only hope.
one thing i notice is we never can predict Ichikawa. We predict Phos would raise hell after being abondoned for 10,000 years. But nope, Phos pray away everyone in one single chapter. We predict Phos would raise the new gems, or new life coming from the sea. Well nope, Phos spend potentially million of years just sleeping until the sea receded, and she does play with new lifeforms... But Phos certainly didn't try to be Sensei, nor the stones want her to. We predict the eye is Phos old eye, or Sensei's brother eye. The latter is correct, but unlike what we thought, he is goofy and very content with his Sushi Chip scented leg. I would complain in the past about long hiatus once again, but now I know Ichikawa took her sweet time trying to come up with mindblowing idea, I don't mind so much.
I miss old Phos so much though, I think we all as a reader feel disconnected from her ever since she lost her head. Its like Phos truly died then, only her inclusion remain, making Phos able to adapt to new head and eyes, but Phos never shown any Phos like behavior anymore. The gems... not so much, after they got prayed away, it become clear that they're insignificant, just one huge staircase of hurdle that Phos must overcome to become a God. It still hurts her, but I think she realise how insignificant they are in the never ending universe. Like a remnant from the past that stubbornly cling to life, and then disappear.
@@jeanneann3545 I miss old Phos a lot too.. it was like seeing the death of your own child, or someone important to you after Phos went to the moon, since after that point it's when things started to go terribly. Seeing Phos in that vengeful state hurt the most, especially after that dream or vision they had about the gems all insulting Phos, and wishing for Phos to never exist. Ichikawa really knows how to write a character to be lovingly stupid, then slowly but painfully rip that character away.. Ichikawa truly is hard to predict in her story telling so at the point we were left at it's even harder to make a guess as to what's coming next. I just hope she can continue with this amazing writing pattern and deliver something great!
the love/hate relationship continues! love because the series truly makes you feel, but hate because of the same reason, because you start to thoroughly despise certain character and long for others to find peace
As much as I think people compare Houseki and Steven Universe too much as the resident SU fan artist I feel I should point out that series does something similar. Often how a character is depicted in their first appearance depends on the POV character's perception. And then as he gets to know them we start seeng sillier and more humanized sides of them.
@@inspirashamul I will warn you season 1 is especially bumpy until the series finds its legs tone and lore wise. There's a suggested episode watch order called "The Flood Order" that cuts alot of the early awkward slog.
Fun fact, im brazilian and we say salve as well, its a pretty comum slang way to say hello "Salve mano, como tamo?" a phrase that sounds like a "SSSSUUUUUPPP". "Salve" in brazilian portuguese literally means "Save". Good video and a "Abração" from brazil!!
Hahah love this! That definitely sounds like something the box says. Thank you for the clarification and love to see a viewer from Brazil! I know there are some Spanish speaking channels that cover Houseki as well so glad to see you watching some of my work as well!
It truly gets on my nerves whenever I see people complaining about the newest chapters of HNK. Of course, nothing is perfect, and I have some things I dislike as well. But...to say these chapters give nothing to the readers is so ignorant. Sometimes the messages of things aren't going to be explicitly stated, not everything is spoon-fed. This is why I like your content so much, it really gets people to think hard about the little details and use literary comprehension and context clues. Houseki no Kuni is such a complex piece of media with so many messages and interpretations, I wish fans reading these newer chapters would appreciate that beauty more. But, anyways, Rutile here to say that this was another great video, can't wait until you get 10,000 sufferers!
Yeah the breaks really killed the fandom’s comprehension skills which I definitely understand not having something consistent is rough. I am sure in the years to come people will praise this final stretch like crazy (or completely say it fell off we can see which way it goes) but yeah. Ichikawa is still here doing her thing. We gotta just appreciate what we get. Thank you for the wonderful comment Rutile!
I decided dive back into the chapters and I doubt this is right, but it feels like phos is collecting the pieces to create a new being or maybe give humans another chance the first rock cant move but it listens and responds, then the second rock can move and dance and write, now we don’t now much about the new ones but the eye has the ability to see we have One who talks, one who moves, and one who sees smells and tastes? Possibly and phos holds the want to become something more and the seed holding that ability to grow a pure life form
Welcome back I hope the binge was fruitful! Yeah I first thought that the other rocks were just pieces of humanity itself but moreso it's the humanity within Phos that let them evolve at such a quick rate. But yeah I agree would love to see Phos become something else soon they have been trapped in that sheet form for a while now.
:0 this channel is sick I have been following this manga for a while but after covid I kinda fell off but I'm BACK baby!!!! I'm happy to join yall now that I've caught back up
Ah my apologies it was all I loosely remembered from my days taking Latin in school (almost 10+ years at this point) so I didn’t really look into it that hard. That’s on me thank you for the clarification though.
Yeah thank you for the correction. I should've double checked the info before putting it in since it was something I thought i learned/heard years ago.
I mean, drawing a single piece of art can take plenty of time and she has draw a whole chapter which is like usually 19-38 pages And I think she also works on Pokémon designs or something too now?(I'm not sure on this so correct me if I'm wrong but I have heard quite a few people say it) Even so, she might have some personal stuff going on

It may be happy for Phos as a being but not as a whole. It really does seem like suicide is the only option left (as of now).

hey have you read the last chapter yet? cause it contains something what you said earlier (don't want to spoiler so i use ambiguous word)
the love/hate relationship continues! love because the series truly makes you feel, but hate because of the same reason, because you start to thoroughly despise certain character and long for others to find peace
Yeah I definitely understand that sentiment.
Still hoping for a s2, dc if its 3d or not Phos with Lapis head and the arcs leading up to the night raid is some of the best parts of the series
yessssss I'd give a limb to see LaPhos animated
Oh yeah whenever we do get S2 it will be so breathtaking from both visuals and of course the narrative.
season 2 is when all the really awesome stuff starts happening. they HAVE to do it!

This is really cool one day I gotta get on Steven Universe myself I’ve only seen a part of the final episode out of context years ago.
@@inspirashamul It's not perfect, but it vibes, and has a real sense for the sublime similar to Houseki at times.

this manga left me sad and feeling empty

One day all this suffering will end hold on strong!

i bet there will be a another caracter develophment to phos
(i hope im wrong)
There might be one last one but it may come in the form of Phos accepting it all.

Welcome back! The wait continues for Ch 103 but hope to see you here again for that!
I am so curious as to how this is going to end, I'm gonna miss Phos and I thought rereading older parts would make me feel better. It did not
Hahaha yeah rereading always makes it worse sadly
Sorry for being pedantic, but english and german are not romance but germanic languages, otherwise great video.

inspirashamul do you think act-age could have ended eariler if yonagi had a shotgun she could've done so many funnies
Um no it wouldn’t. It should’ve gone on for much longer it’s a shame.
@@inspirashamul i agree but the sheer energy of kei yonagi having a gun at any time
it would be funny
i dont really hate any gems, the only actual gem i could really dislike is prolly bort. the only character i hate is prince achemea.
Interesting Bort! How come you hate them?! But yeah the Prince hate is definitely understandable.
We dont need eminem we only need the rocks💯💯💯💯
Tho hope my man phos would feel better
Hahahha one day they might but who knows even with 10k years, they are still not happy :(
Lets be honest, ichikawa needs only 2 hours to draw de entire chapter. Th'z she doin all diz hiatuses?
No clue tbh

That just means you gotta appreciate the art more. Spend as much time studying it as she had drawing it
I mean de story feels complitli ended, just make phos happy plain with her rock-frienz 'n zats it.
Tell me you aren’t an artist without being an artist
