good god thank you. nobody is willing to say how to secure it to the neck. I thought these were supposed to be free floating in there boxes. That made no sense to me. Also thank you for explaining string grounding. You are the first person that ever explained to to get through my thick head. the best part is I put a 4-40 screw across the strings behind the bridge to hold down the strings so they grip better on the bridge, it will be nothing to solder a wire onto that screw to make a string ground and tie all the black wires together.
Im throwing one of these on an old acoustic guitar and i was having trouble looking for where to ground it. I figured i can ground it to one of the pickguard screws, but im also throwing power pins 2.0 on one of my acoustics so i should be able to ground it to the plate it comes with
You MUST ground to a point that touches all the strings tab the same time. Your best choice is the bridge. I’ve used layers of copper tape under the bridge plate where the ball ends touch. It worked too:) Let me know how you go. Oh we also have a very engaged FB group under the same name Please feel free to join.
Long story short. Glue it, screw it or double sided tape it in place. Make it look aesthetically pleasing if it's visible. We Australians tend to waffle on somewhat.
it depends how far away from the strings the pickup is. The strings need to travel through the pickups magnetic field. Placing the pickup under the box lid can result in a weak pickup out put. Sorry for the delay in replying
