Great video as usual! I'd love to see properties at the value of £150,000 to £200,000 which would be more attainable for the majority of folk like me. Perhaps also some older houses instead of new builds? Thanks,
Great home. One thing to keep in mind for the viewers is that this home would only START at £410k. With Redrow you basically buy a skeleton house. If you take all the options for it to look like this show home, you will be closer to spending £500k.
I viewed an Oxford Show home in Okehampton. The basic (included in the price) choices are much higher standard than other builders. The upgrade price of the kitchen floor was an extra 6k and the fancy worktop an extra 6k above the standard. I wasn't keen on the kitchen floor. My current kitchen floor is a similar size, it is a wood affect lino, looks stunning and was £200 plus £30 fitting. If too much money is spent upgrading then this amount of money will not be recovered from any resale. All the upgrades were priced in the show home. The Redrow Canterbury Showhomeupgrades (not furniture but including fitted wardrobes) came to over 30k. I have also viewed at Dawlish, some empty Redrow new homes. Some were built and left empty for months. Redrow had installed flooring on the empty homes and thrown that into the price. If a house is built and empty and unsold, then there is negotiation for extras eg fitted wardrobes, full tiling of toilets, ensuites, quality flooring and if part exchanging, a higher price paid for yours.
I’ve bought a Brand New Redrow house in the Midlands. You’re right about the options- it’s a mine field! A video about optional upgrades to have and what to avoid I think would help people. Plus I picked up some tips which managed to get optional upgrades for free
I do like the room layout in this property. I don't know if it's fenshui or personal preference, I prefer rooms with beds facing you so you walk in and bed is all ready. I feel the bed dresses the room and should have fitted wardrobes on the other end as shown in this house.
Hi Matt and Summer, thanks for the video. I just bought a 4 bedrooms a study and utility, detached house with double garage and space to park 4 cars, it’s near Norwich, and the developer is Norfolk Homes. I bought it for £410k, the kitchen came with Bosch double ovens, Bosch 5 ring gas glass hob and Bosch dishwasher. Had to buy all other white goods myself. The ground floor has underfloor heating throughout with smart thermostats both downstairs and upstairs. House is 1432 sq ft. For the price, I much prefer the layout of this house just because the family room is part of the kitchen. But there’s a glass double door connecting my kitchen to the living room so It’s ok I guess. You should check out Norfolk Homes, at the moment they’ve just launched a new phase in Poringland but only a few units left. For the different kitchen cabinet colours in this house, I really like it, contemporary, goes with the design of the house. Thanks again guys, take care and stay safe.
I have this house style in Scotland it was the very first to be built which is now 13 years ago. So it's such a popular family home still. I have a slightly different layout as have a window next to front door which makes hall a lot brighter and double doors from my lounge to dining room. There is a wall between kitchen and dining room which we have always contemplated on removing. I have 2 windows in my kitchen. Upstairs is very similar. I paid a lot less for it but Redrow stopped building in Scotland. I love my house its great to see its still getting built after all this time.
Right! Been looking through all these new build vids and they are just kind of give off the same, somewhat clinical vibe. They aren't bad looking houses, but just - obviously - not lived in, and moreover, the surrounding area isn't lived in, and is similarly clinical. It doesn't feel like an actual community, or an area where you can 'live', but rather what it actually is; just a space of land where a bunch of houses have been sprung up. All these areas look like USA-style developments where you have to drive to your local town / community hub. I've googled several new build developments and they're always just in the middle of some random area with no pubs in walking distance, not great transport links, lack of services nearby e.g. doctors & dentists, and so on. All these things must be considered. It's all well and good moving into some brand new build as a young couple, but how good is the rea for having kids? How easily is it to meet other people around your age in the community, or is there any community nearby at all? Unfortunately, I feel like most new build areas are new build areas for a reason...historically they haven't been built on as residential because there isn't much nearby. They don't feel 'part' of a pace, you know.
@@harrypike5140 That's a good assessment, but pretty much every suburb is like that (not just new builds). Few amenities nearby as it's just streets of houses, that's the sacrifice you pay for paying a lot less than how much it would cost you to live near the the town centre. Obviously not every suburb is the same, but that is the expectation, there is not going to be much to do or see that is within walking distance.
Wow, this is an amazing house for a new build and at that price. Looks fantastic from both the outside and the inside. Looks like extremely high quality. As someone’s notes though, this looks like it has many options which would take the price up a bit towards £500k.
It’s a gorgeous home and lovely furnished. I love what they have done with the kitchen too. Instead of being all white they added warmth classic brown to it too and it looks cosy. Loved the house 😍😍😍
I'm biased as I own one, but I love the layout of this house, I think it is the perfect size if you are looking for a slightly bigger than the normal family house. the 4th bed is a box room but otherwise, I have loved living in mind for the last 3 years. Having a big family area and a separate living room when you have kids really does help. My one has the island/wrap around kitchen work top which is better for kitchen space but you have a dash less space to put your dinning table and family area. I also don't have the cupboard in the hall way (though I wish I did now seeing it). thanks for the tour.
@@Scientist538 loft space is big, but as with all new builds they use werid size beams, i don't like putting much up there, and its done in a way that loft extension would be a no go.
I live in the USA but enjoy seeing how homes in England are different and similar to homes here. I really like this model and the layout on both floors. It is a clean straightforward design with some nice touches. Could you please comment on garages, basements, and air conditioning in new homes in the UK for this American. Thank you and thank you both for what you are doing!
The garage for Redrow - The Cambridge house design is a single garage about 2.96m x 5.68m. English homes don't have basements or air conditioning. This is a popular house design which Redrow build all over the UK. The bay window and kitchen design has changed recently. Here are some resales (non show homes) . The plot sizes are small for new build homes compared to older properties and most new UK developments have social housing on them due to government legislation. You could have a professional couple both working full time and paying a mortgage for a 4 bed detached, opposite a single stay at home Mum with two kids with autism living in a 2 bed terrace (Ledbury house design) with no garage, just a space out front, with all their bills paid for by the government. Some private buyers don't like new build estates that have too many social houses on them. Too many social houses can bring social problems to your neighbourhood. www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/72529110#/ www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/96536093#/ www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/71725095#/
I like that this house is bigger than the previous one next-door. It is nicely designed and very spacious. This house with four bedrooms is close to the cost of our home here in Queens, New York. It also feels bigger than our house too, despite ours having a full basement and full standup attic with plenty space. The space in this house is well utilised. What I didn't like about this house, which is minor: 1) It has the dark cupboards in the kitchen, which makes the room feel darker. 2) Instead of an island there is a dining table. 3) There is a second living area with couch and tele. The dining table could have been in that area instead.

You should do a new build in Darlington, a town in North East England, would be interesting as the north east is the cheapest place to buy property in England but Darlington has some nice new builds
I live in a block of flats in Bournemouth built by Redrow and have found that they have made a few shortcuts here and stupidly place radiators in awkward places but have noticed that the houses they build are done a lot better. Love your vids guys, have only found your channel today but you have entertained me all day while I’m isolating 😄😝
What happens when you need to replace the fridge? Also interested in hearing critique from builders who work on redrow sites if any happen to see this comment, I have heard some bad stuff about them from tradies, this is coming from a RDW shareholder so has brought me some concerns. Would be interesting to see a quick shot of the lofts just out of curiosity to see the storage space up there and general design of the trusses, wouldn't expect you'd get much considering the top story partially vaulted ceiling design. Thanks for the video.
I like the layout but would prefer an island in the kitchen. I would also replace the kitchen living area in with a formal dining area. I also like the two-tone kitchen color scheme.

I have a Redrow flat in the South East, which is almost the same price as this house. Mind-blowing! Anyway, I have that same colour combination in the kitchen (dark wood and white) but in high gloss. Wasn't sure about it first but it's actually nice to break the space up a bit!
We don’t have this developer in my area (tayside) but I’m liking their homes in this estate and whoever is doing their decor is doing a good job of staging. Price wise I can’t comment on schools, town and amenities etc as I don’t know area but seems a fair price for a new build that size and that quality.
I would love to see some high end developments in convenient locations in London ,developers like Berkeley Homes and Almacantar is really quality and active in London
Very similar to Redrow Woodford Village in South Manchester, they've essentially but a town. House prices are pretty steep but the quality of redrow houses are second to none
I would say this property out of the 3 is my favourite, I totally agree with you about the kitchen design, not my cup of tea. From the back bedroom you can see into the neighbours houses. Shame. Need to put trees in the gardens to make it more private
I am from scotland and no airing cupboard for bedding and towels as cupboard has tank in it. Plus no space in bathroom for beauty products. Also I love it when you open all the kitchen cupboards and how you would style it please.
I watched this video I think 10 times at least. Love the house!!! Slight changes: terraces for each bedroom, bigger baths and dual sinc, double garage. But in general it's all that 4 family member needs. For me, somehow typical English, therefore original, also very practical, family oriented and sweet. My personal choice and thank you guys as always! You ROCK!! 😉 ♥️♥️
My uncle and aunt have the exact same house, same layout and floor plan but also with a conservatory and a garage. The price was for £375,000 and the area they live in is Great Bridge, Tipton, West Midlands. It might’ve been developed by the same company as this one but a couple of years back. Love your videos btw!!!
The two tones in the kitchen is a developers trick sometimes to show u the options available in the kitchens etc when u buy early on the building process. Obviously if u end up buying the show home it could be bought as seen or u can buy and they would change doors over for charge. As a show home usually obviously furniture sold in sometimes too. But I like the two tone of done on the right doors. What I’m noticing tho is the placement of furniture... right up against radiators when most of us just wouldn’t do that so again some rooms looking bigger than they are.
Lovely house was just wondering if the kitchen is showing the different finishes that are available rather than actually mixing two different looks I'm assuming you can choose the final styles and colours ? xx
Thanks for making videos like these mid range budget new homes. Very good budget new places for start up families coming even from aboard! Would really appreciated if possible if you can also introduce a bit more about the home locations to nearby town/ schools nearby/ chance of flooding or something to watch out for etc?

Good size garden for a new build, just need to plant a couple of trees for privacy. My husband is a builder and a lot of new builds do not have a garage but usually have a small drive.
Hi, lovely house but I agree the kitchen cupboards don't look good. I think new development houses should just have a white kitchen as it can match anything. Please show homes in Kent area!
Hi, you referred to this one as Cambridge but also the next door one as Cambridge? Which is which? I’m just interested in the pricing of the homes, I have the brochure in front of me but no pricing available as the new area isn’t being built yet.

Price wise I can’t comment on schools, town and amenities etc as I don’t know area but seems a fair price for a new build that size and that quality.
You guys are awesome !
I would love to see some high end developments in convenient locations in London ,developers like Berkeley Homes and Almacantar is really quality and active in London
Great tour by two experts keep up the good work
Thanks!
Nice video Matt & Summer. Good affordable houses.
Just found your channel you two are amazing, keep the videos coming
Can you do a house tour in Greater Manchester, 4 bedrooms and under £300,000 plz. Love your channel!!
Hi Matt & Summer. Would be good to see what deals you can get for first time buyers on a tight budget in North west London
nice house and nicely furnished, see it all laid out like this is such a bonus, loved the kitchen
Price pretty good there. Colors are very good. Furnishings excellent. U.S here.
Please be aware of the estate management fees when buying these new builds. Can be difficult to sell on and other problems around this issue.
Sadly its fairly common to have these fees on new build estates as the local authorities earnt prepared to maintain the landscaped areas.
Love it another spacious home. Nicer than yesterday's home but I prefer bay windows.
Love this house, watched this video so many times, wish I could buy something like this.
Definitely will cost double that amount in London.
I quite like the different coloured kitchen! If that's a 2nd living room, it makes a good entertainment area.
That is lovely, not my choice of colour combos for the kitchen though. Regardless its nice 👌
Yeh and tbh everyone wants a kitchen island these days!! Not a dining table in the kitchen. A separate dining table or dining room is even better
Hi, great video. Can you please do a video on new builds in Peterborough and Milton Keynes. Thanks
Lovely video, would like to see more properties in Cheshire/Cheshire's golden triangle ,Surrey and Berkshire 😘
Lovely house was just wondering if the kitchen is showing the different finishes that are available rather than actually mixing two different looks I'm assuming you can choose the final styles and colours ? xx
Would love to see some houses in Manchester!
Thanks for making videos like these mid range budget new homes. Very good budget new places for start up families coming even from aboard! Would really appreciated if possible if you can also introduce a bit more about the home locations to nearby town/ schools nearby/ chance of flooding or something to watch out for etc?
Hi guys, really interesting to see this. Please could you come and look at some of the new build areas in London? Hayes, Ealing and other areas have some really nice places on offer at the moment. "127 West Ealing" looks stunning and is well worth a look
I would love you guys to go to see show homes in Nuneaton, Warwickshire because they have a lot of new homes there like bellway, Davidson’s, David Wilson, Taylor Wimpey, Barratt Homes, Cartwright Homes, Redrow and more!!
Those bronzy disco mirrors in the main bedroom designates it for the adults in the family presumably.
Good looking New Build thanks guys
Hey Matt and summer I think it would be great if you could come to West Midlands and tour some house like new build flats and house now I live on a new build street and there is a house already for sale would love for you guys to tor it hahah
Great video!! How about a new build in Manchester?
Amazing house tour! Love your videos :) its inspiring me to set up my own kind of RUclips channel like yours but I'm too nervous and always think negative. Keep up the great work guys xx
Keep up the good work guys! 👍🏻
I LOVE THE GARDEN ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😍😍😍😍
Really nice house I'm not sure I like the contrast kitchen cupboard colours but I suppose it's different. Please tour Surrey new builds next x ps love your channel 🏡
Love the tours, soon to be buying a home and would love for you guys to view homes in Reading/Berkshire
Really good suggestion. Have seen some great places on offer, and Reading is on Crossrail isn't it?
enfado23 yeah, great place to live I think.
Please go to Kent! Currently looking around for our first house !
i think the kitchen looks fabulous
What about the north west area, Wembley. Tour there would be nice. Either house or apartment
Yes, please,-go to Wembley!!!
Just don’t go to Wembley Central
How about looking at Avant homes? Sheffield, Chesterfield? Yorkshire & Derbyshire? Be good to show a floor plan of a property and say if a house type has a garage or just parking spaces too? Love house videos 👍🏼 was good to see the everyday family home house types as well as luxury properties!
I think I prefer the kitchen in the other house, I love a cheeky island!
Please do more manor homes they are my favourite
love these houses so cozy family home ..
I work on a redrow site toilets are in the wrong positions should be Centre or the windows and a couple of rads do look Centre either
How are you? Nice to see you back from the paradise.
You should come to sheffield & do a tour there !! I would love to watch that x
Been looking forward to this video, lovely house 👍 well presented.
that’s a joke size fridge freezer for a, supposedly, family of five
yeah i was thinking that x i would have to add another one as a family of 6 i could only get a days shopping in there
I live in the US and I enjoy these videos. I just don't understand why smaller walk-in wardrobes are not being incorporated into UK new builds.
Lol you guys are really obsessed with built-in wardrobes
@@enlilw-l2 It's not about obsession, it just feels pointless to build a house and skimp on vital storage space. Legally, a room is not considered a bedroom unless it has a built-in closet.
@@josephinebournes8212 It is, I can read this so frequently from American people. You don't understand that there is absolutely no " legal " terms about wardrobes in Europe.
A bedroom is a bedroom, you put your own stand-alone wardrobe or you ask for a built-in that's all ! Is it so complicated to understand ?
It is lovely, and actually for 410K, I would say it is good value for money compared with my area in Bamford, Greater Manchester, I do like your channel 👍
Love your videos! I'd love to see more apartment tours especially that are styled nicely so i can get inspo for mine haha x
