Pick the smaller home, and use the cost savings to add a detached two car garage/workspace. One car garage is not enough.

Practical thinking but depends on circumstances. My house is bigger than both but I don't drive so the extra garage space wasted on me.

This is difficult (sigh)... 😕 I want to choose one of both but... both homes are great. Ithink I'm going with the first option because the space and I'm still not quite sure because the second option has a great space too, even though the second one is less bigger then option one. In terms of design both homes are amazing and I really like the homes of that developer. But still I'm going with the first one.

I personally prefer the smaller one. It's cosier, I prefer the layout, especially of the ground floor. The colour palette is also much nicer as opposed to house 1.
And then there's also the price difference. House 1 does not have any attractive qualities that would interest me in buying the house.

Thanks very much for another new build and fab video. I always use Matt and Tom's height to measure these buildings. Today's home should have been built with an additional 2 feet in height. Everything else is quite solid. Thanks everyone. 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

Very nice homes the pair I like the paneling and colours used as well as art deco styles. The first home that freezer is something else. Interesting door/drawer pulls as well. I would have rathered have a fireplace in the kitchen though sitting area instead of the television. I think I remember those other homes. The fence out the back is missing some wood I think I would like privacy from neighbours as some have pets not sure I want to share my garden with them. Nice to see you Matt interesting enough I follow another freelance website designer who has his own renovation channel Life of Ryan from France. The decor of both homes is interesting but would have left out the giraffes but well designed homes no less.

  • @Randysocal
    @Randysocal 3 месяца назад +7

I am not sure of the presenter's height but he barely makes it through the doorways and the ceiling heights look like they are probably 8 feet. Most US new houses have at least a 10 foot ceiling height which makes even smaller rooms seem much more spacious. For the price, a two car garage would seem to be expected.

Lovely houses. The pricing is crazy, but those are both wonderful examples of new British design. I would prefer crittal doors downstairs instead of the thick white framed ones. Also preferred the larger staircase in Mulberry. This level of design should be the standard of homes across the board, if only. Hopefully the quality matches the aesthetic and they settle well in the first 10 years.

For a 1.5M+, I wouldn't expect to share a driveway access or only have a small one car garage.
In the first house, I also would have expected more storage in the kitchen. I've seen home tours that are half the price of these with more kitchen storage. Honestly I was expecting that the adjacent utility room would have more storage to supplement the kitchen, but it too was very small.
I really liked the wardrobe area in bedroom 3. That was a clever space. The family bathroom was also nice. I found it odd that the principal suite didn't have any built-in wardrobes. Yes the room is large, but you still have to put in your wardrobes. That was a bit deceiving.
For house 2, I have the same disappointment with the kitchen storage. I like bedroom 2 with its higher ceiling and abundant integrated storage. For the principal suite, I liked the high ceiling again but I also think that the wardrobes aren't as elegantly integrated. They look really clumsy.
Save for the few higher ceiling rooms, most of the doors and ceilings feel low, or is Matt just extra, extra tall?
Lastly, the way the back garden is separated feels cheap. For that price, I'd hope to see a taller brick wall separating the two sides.

I prefer symmetry of front of first house and it's the end of the cul de sac so more privacy, whereas you have to pass the second house to get to first house. But I prefer the wrap around stairs in second and the bedrooms. There should be verandas at the back and the garden of first is overshadowed by leylandii trees. There's no hedge or dividing wall between the two for privacy, so youre sharing a driveway and backgarden. It s a big ask for 1.5 million.
The colour scheme is awful. Out go the boring greys blacks whites everywhere and in comes colour, so there's an additional spend.

One garage bay in a house that is over 1.4M GBP is just wrong. The bay doesn't even look big enough for the type of vehicle a buyer with the kind of money to buy this thing might want.

Highly inflated. Semi detached, sharing of entrance gate with a neighbour, only four bedrooms. And its still Birmingham postcode, 😅. Next door in Coventry in a highly desirable area of Memorial Park along Warwick road this much money will buy you a mansion, with swimming pool, detached, your own road from the main road leading to your mansion and near to all the best towns of Royal Leamington Spa, Warwick, Kenilworth and Stratford upon Avon. Also nearer to London to commute than Solihull which is further north. Only thing positive is Solihull is extremely desirable area and one of the only top 10 most expensive areas outside of London and will have HS2 station built in the town which will make the prices go crazy even more as all the CEO’s working in London will live in Solihull as it will be within an hour to London. All experts have agreed that Solihull will have unprecedented economic growth with HS2 station built in there. But note me personally its highly inflated area, there are much more beautiful areas in Warwickshire which is next door with lots of land and in my opinion posher than Solihull.

would buy the larger property only with a double garage Solihull is very overpriced and those massive trees need cutting down and for that price I would have expected to see landscaped gardens

I drive past these houses every day. Their location isn’t great, M42 right by them, fast road access. Wouldn’t think they are worth over £800K so price is inflated. Road noise outside would be a problem
